Join me on my watch repair journey!
Welcome to Weekend Watch Repair. My name is Adam and I'm a passionate hobbyist watchmaker who loves nothing more than tinkering with timepieces and bringing them back to life.
On this channel, I try to create videos that cover everything from simple watch maintenance tips to more complex repairs and restorations. I'll try to provide you with valuable insights and helpful information that will enhance your appreciation for these intricate and timeless machines.
My goal is to provide a comprehensive understanding of how watches work, and share with you step by step how I repair and service these timepieces. I'll show you the tools and techniques that I use, and I'll try and capture some of the things that don't often get shown on some other videos. My hope is that you gain some technical knowledge for your own repair work, or if you just enjoy seeing these watches come apart and get put back together you'll find these videos entertaining.

Amazing video, I love the detail you go into with the issues you came across. Thank you for all your effort!
Thanks a bunch.
Try using a pin vise sandpaper & a wood straight edge to polish your screws. It works like a charm and keeps the screws as flat as with the scratch marks uniformed.
I haven't seen that movement before, it has a lot going on. Nice job. Thank you.
Thanks!
Thank you so much!
Your comment "...it's just luck. It's not a whole lot of skill...." reminded me of the quotation by Gary Player (I think) "The more I practice, the luckier I get"
I have several Vintage JDM seiko watches that have lume. But more don’t have it than the export models for some reason.
Well done Adam
Nice job in explaining in detail this chronograph complication. I like a chronograph without any calendar distractions. A exhibition caseback would also be on my wish list.
It'll probably clean up 😂
Loved this video, I find these types of videos so relaxing and informative. I'd love to own a vintage seiko like this!
Nothing lubeta can't fix :)
Looks fantastic!
Careful she doesn’t fly off the bench. Ok, That gave me some hints. 2130 movement. So we know it’s a ladies or a midsized and either an 80s OP or DJ.
Sound on! Hilarious! 🤣
You inspired me to get into watch repair, love the channel!!
That's very humbling to hear. Thank you so much.
Where do you source your barrel jewel kits?
Mostly through a couple of eBay sellers.
I have a couple Uncle Seiko replacement bracelets - totally agree. QQ - how do you find what the correct missing screw is, and source it?
The manuals for these movements provide the part numbers for the screws. You can cross reference that part number and see if any other movements share the exact same screw, which in my case I had a donor movement with the correct screw.
Outstanding job. I wish I could do such nice work.
That's a beauty! Thanx, Peter!
Just like new!
Bulova (BULL-uh-vah) was one of the premier consumer watch brands from the 40s-70s. They spawned other brands such as Caravelle (low cost to compete with Timex), and Accutron, which was the most accurate watch you could buy!
Pretty face! Must have been worn with the hole in the crystal! Maybe a tool kit giveaway at 20k? Or Seiko 5 Titanium?
Someone was angry while holding a sharp object.
I don’t know if you’ve heard this before but it’s quite common to hold your breath a bit without realising while focusing on something that requires precision and it makes the shakes worse so catching yourself doing it and taking some deep breaths can help steady your hands. I think your hands are quite steady given the magnification so I’m not suggesting you have shaky hands 😂 but I’ve heard you mention it a couple times.
I bet it banged around in a drawer with the back off for a long time and then someone decided to get it running and sell it off.
Really nice looking watch, can't go wrong with orange and black in my opinion...a lot of the 6100s look quite dated now, but that one's still very wearable. I also really enjoyed the tie-in with the Who, very cool to have some _heritage_ to it!
That's the Month and Year I was born!
Amazing!:) Greetings from Bern, Switzerland
Thank you.
Not a Seiko guy. What a great looking watch. What a sharp looking no-date it would be.
The indices don't match the rest of the watch.
Great work and what a cool watch with a fantastic story.
Really cool and interesting Seiko model. I have also heard there is a Seiko model that was made famous by Martin Sheen’s character in Apocalypse Now. Is there a chance that this may be a future episode?
Yes, I'll have one in a future video.
I’m just getting into vintage watches. Wanted to thank you and I’m now a subscriber!
Thanks so much. I really appreciate it.
