Jiveworld brings you natural spoken language in the form of compelling stories from top radio producers. These are not the typical slow, monochrome set-pieces manufactured for study. Our stories have color and flow, are messy and glorious - just like real life.
Traditional language classes and apps focus on reading, writing and speaking. To the extent you're encouraged to listen, it's almost always to a carefully articulated, slow-spoken version of the language. The result is familiar to most of us: we step outside the classroom and try and use what we've learned with a native speaker and suddenly our ears don't work. Listening isn't just one of the so-called "four language skills": it's the foundational skill. If you ever want to free yourself from books and apps and classes and do your language learning in the wild - in real conversations, watching movies, listening to podcasts - you've got to get your ears up to the job. And that's what Jiveworld will do for you.

😁 es muy linda 💖 You are very precious 💖
Desde 2022 no entiendo la diferencia entre desde y desde que, pero desde que escuché tu lección, todo está claro. Muchas gracias.
Yo uso elle y otra palabras inclusivas con mis amigues no binaries :)
Other alternatives is a redundant. As alter alrrady mesns other….just “they are alternatives”
Excellent presentation 😊❤❤
Slow Down
I respectfully refuse to use any of these new made up terms. And I am NOT “Latinx”, because that isn’t even a real thing
It's also a good idea to look up your target language/dialect's phonology in advance so that you'll know what sounds you aren't familiar with and have to pay extra attention to. For example a Danish speaker would hear a Z sound the same as an S and they'd just keep shadowing "zoo" as "sue" and "phase" as "face" if they don't learn to pronounce a Z first.
I found that the easiest to understand (for me at least) are podcast about topics I already know something about and they require many international (French/Latin/English/Greek) words. For example in French I'm currently listening to "Sur les épaules de Darwin" which is about school/pop-sci level biology and evolution so it has lots of words I already knew just from having gone to school. On a side note, have you ever tried connecting a 9 V battery to your nose piercings? I feel like I couldn't stop myself from trying it once, the intrusive thoughts would win.

The app is crap, Its just like the gibberish you hear in this example. Do not waste your time
All of the audio content in Jiveworld Español is professionally produced by our partner Radio Ambulante.
The app really is great if it’s at the right level for you. It can make listening to Radio Ambulante’s fantastic stories much less daunting and accessible for intermediate learners and can help you level up your listening. If you’re a beginner, it would probably be a lot, like drinking from a fire hose.
We couldn't agree more - thank you so much for sharing this!
I love hearing all the different accents and learning about the history and culture of countries through Radio Ambulante's human interest stories.
😂
Why is the app bad? I’ve never used it
It can be too advanced for beginners. We designed it for intermediate and advance Spanish learners who already have a basic grasp of Spanish but are looking to improve their ability to understand spoken Spanish. You can listen to a story for free (app or web) to see if our method is right for you though. Let us know if you give it a try.
Pude haberme entendido? O quisas no?

The app is terrible- I tried it but in the end I uninstalled it.
oh no, we are sorry to hear you didn't have a good experience with the app! We'd really like to learn more so we can make improvements. Would you mind sending us an email to support @ jiveworld . com?
Did you just call Puerto Rico a country? 😏
I think in every language that I learned. However, the weaker languages don't handle more complex thoughts, so I naturally switch to a stronger language to keep the line of thinking.
1:40: What is the purpose of "ya?" 1:56: I have seen que used instead of quien in this case.
Thanks for this. Quick question: can 'durante' substitute for 'desde hace', e.g. llevo estudiando español durante 5 años? Many thanks.
❤❤❤❤
This videos great thank you
I have watched several of your videos. Your presentation style is wonderful. I know I can sharpen my spanish language skills listening to your clear explainations. Your efforts are appreciated.
Thanks for watching!
You make it so clear.
Very interesting explanation. My question would be other than in english where would the word avocado be used. To me it is a spanish sounding word. In Mexico I learned aguacate but I have always wondered why avocado is not used.
Using "hubiera(s)" in place of a form of "deber" is very common in Spanish in some areas, as you point out.
Very nicely done, concise and understandable. Thank you.
gran exposición
Enjoyed the video, thank you
