I print the design I want for my front& back covers on one side of 80 lb card stock, then I print the interior design on additional 80 lb card stock. I cut each sheet to size needed then use a glue stick to adhere the cover & back to their respective interior pages. Once dry, I laminate each set of covers in a 5mil or 3 mil laminator pouch, trim, then punch with the Cinch. Makes for sturdy covers.
@@MorgaineChristensen that's great thanks for sharing
great idea of how to add the pen!!!!😊
This is so very helpful. Especially when you show how and where to put the wire placement in the back of the cynch. Thank you for this video.
I have a question, are the covers the same size as the interior pages or a little bigger?
@anaramos5886 they can be made both ways. My videos show them all the same size. I plan to make one where the cover and back are bigger.
New to Cinch, can you make notebook videos in different paper formats, A4, A5, A6?
@anaramos5886 I have a half page and a quarter page made on video. All the sizes are made the same way. Did you need me to show you how to set the holes to punch with these sizes?

Amazing tutorial great job ❤
how in the world do you figure out how to make your covers a bit larger than the inside sheets and get it lined up properly?????

Thank you so much. This is helpful. I was confused on which one to get and how to use it
Very creative! Thank you so much for sharing & being very specific & attention to detail. I do have a question, how much do you sell your notebooks for?
@@selterrone7494thank you. I do not sell anything. All mine are gifts.
Using the parchment paper is a really good tip. I think keeping the cut side down is a good idea too. Also tapping the binding edge against the table right after it has melted is a great idea. I know right, now we all need the stack cutter. Cutting after making the book is an excellent idea.
I've been thinking about getting one and your tutorial is the best and most thorough tutorial I've seen! Thank you!
@kerryleary8455 thank you. There is a FB group dedicated to the Cinch that I am member of. Would you like the link?
Love this ❤
I just received mine, was kinda disappointed that no wire binding came with it. But I took your advise and ordered another brand off Amazon. I did pretty good on my first one, thanks to you great easy understanding video. I have a question, what if any do you use as a clear protection cover? It would be for ones I do that don’t have a hard cover.
@pamfernandez2995 you can laminate 2 sheets together. I think that would work. Do you want it see through clear?
@ when I paid to have a book spiral bound they’d always add a protective cover, acetate maybe.
Yay! I just found one on HSN for $37! I can’t wait for it to arrive.
Hi, did you ever make the file? Is it possible to get the shaker and puffy file?
@kimiacuzio6574 i did make them. The file is on my FB page. Click the link at the top of my channel. If there is a file you need that is not there, just me know, and I will add it.
I also love your scrapbook videos
Which is better glue or double sided tape?.
@nicoleaho7262 it depends on the supplies you use. If using paper to cover chip board then I prefer mod podge as the "paint" on glue. It bonds better. If using cardstock to cover chip board i do not mind double sided as it is faster and less messy.
I just got my Cinch this morning! I was very excited to find your tutorial. I must say the directions that came with the machine are not very good. Thank you so much for this video! 😀

What size coils is better 1/2 or 3/8. I'm getting mine in today! Just found your videos and love your clear explanation. Subscribed!
@pamfernandez2681 thank you. 3/8 is slightly smaller than the 1/2. I have 4 sizes and it is a good range in my opinion. 7/16. 9/16. 3/4. 7/8. Just make sure it is a 2:1 pitch.
@@craftytinas thank you. I receive mine today was a little disappointed that no coils came with it , so now I have to wait to play☺

Hello, this is the best I have seen on the Thermal Cinch, I will be taking mine out of the box, thanks for sharing!!!
Thank you so much for your video. I'm a new subscriber as of yesterday :) I have the Cinch and the Thermal Cinch (I have not used). I use my Cinch all the time. Can you tell or show us how well the thermal cinch book opens up. I'm curious as to how well does it open so you can write in one. I always see people flip through the book but never open it to write. I actually debated about selling it because of a few reviews. I've made a couple glue bound books/notepads, but I do it "old school" LOL and glue it myself then put it in my wood press or simply put a book on top. I have not had many issues with the way I do it. The Cinch would be much faster but I was afraid I'd have glue leakage and ruin it....I've saw posts about that as well. I would like to say THANK YOU!!!! For the ideas on creating your own products. The video I watched last night you gave me great ideas as well. I love the parchment paper idea to keep the glue from getting in the machine. You are correct, I love We R Memory Keepers products, but their supplies are very expensive. I just purchased 6 boxes of the wires because I found them on sale at JoAnn's online. I love their colors! I just subscribed to the FB page so thank you for that information as well. I'm looking forward to following you and watching your videos. I have a heavy-duty guillotine cutter. It does a good job, I have to adjust it and that is no easy task when it is time to do that. I will check out the cutter you are mentioning. I love gadgets. I started my own business a year ago this month and I create paper products. Very relaxing but can be very tedious. Thanks again for you tips!
@@ZanitaWhitley-wv1ne i will do a video with opening and using the notebook. Thank you.
@@craftytinas Thank you!!!
Than you so much for sharing❤❤❤❤
You will definitely need the Cinch Stack Cutter! I just received mine and it makes cutting the edges of journals and notepads so easy. I made 3 TN notebooks and had to cut down 3 sides on each one, some of the cuts were 1/8” and I had all three notebooks done in about 5 minutes, every edge on all 3 notebooks cut like butter. I am very impressed by this cutter and am very glad I got it. Have a wonderful and Happy New Year!
@delo1951 ohhh. So are the measurements on it good? I have had paper cutters that were off. Will it cut 44 pieces of copier paper like this? Also can it cut small stacks?
I cut through 28 layers of 20lb. copy paper and 2 layers of 65lb cardstock on one of my notebooks, the cuts all look amazing, and the 1/8” mark with the arm seems very accurate, no wonky cuts everything is straight. There is a channel called LollyPalooza on TH-cam, she has 2 videos on the cutter and both are very informative.
@@delo1951 thank you. Good thing my birthday is February.
Well Happy early Birthday! 🎉🎂
Thanks. Wish I can buy more adhesive or a different band
@@tracisusong6991 you can buy the clear vinyl and cut out your own. You could print the svg on card stock and make it a stencil to trace and cut out with scissors. If you do not have a cutting machine.
Can you link the glue strips you purchased?
It looks like HSN and Amazon are out of stock . Joann fabrics has them on sale right now. I will be buying an off brand to try and will post once I get them and try them out. www.joann.com/p/we-r-memory-keepers-50pk-thermal-binding-glue-strips/19980903.html
I love the tabs idea. I looked for video with page sizes but I can’t find. What sizes are covers? What sizes are pages and dividers?
@joycehuff9769 thank you. The pages are half page. 5.5 x 8.5 inches. The cover is 6x9 inches. I will do another video on how to make that cover too. It's on my list.
@ thank you!🙏🙏
What a great idea, I love this. Thank you!
I've been researching this extensively, and I believe the standard for twin-loop wire bound books is square holes. The standard for spiral bound books is round holes. I'm not even sure why they're making a wire-bound cinch machine that punches round holes other than for hobbyists and for the versatility to be able to make spiral bound books too. But if you buy any twin-loop wire bound book from a store you'll see they're all square holes. For thinner books round holes are probably fine, but thicker books will probably handle better with square holes. So hole shape is not really personal preference if you're making thicker books or you're going to make books to sell. I almost looked past the Cinch because I found the blue one and realized it was round holes...but then I saw the pink one has square holes so I went ahead and got that one. Great video. Thanks for showing us how to use it!
On the cinch with circle holes is a 2:1 pitch as well so it will work with the twine wire just fine so either one will be good. So yes its personal preference on circle and square with the cinch
Thank you, I prefer the square but i wasn't sure which was the better
Does the vinyl outline squate show on ya covers? I think it should show. But i need that punch set i inlay my magnets for my flip over covers but i get thinner magents i use 10mm by 1 mm so they are thin. I got them on aliexpress for cheap
Lol my the box would get tore up by my kid quick lol
I would like to know if this punch set can do 30 pt chipboard or a 50pt chipboard i like to inlay my magents in the chipboard
@RainorShine1 it can do 30 point chip board. I did it to make notebook covers for my Cinch. I believe I have a video showing it.
@craftytinas thanks alot
The front cover you should punch with the front of the cover up. And the back cover the inside on back cover up. Well thats how i was taught to puch covers anyway
50pt or 0.05inch thick chipboard is better then 30pt its thicker. If i make a 4 by 6 pages on the inside. My chipboard for my cover is 4.25 by 6.5 with 1/4 in bigger then my insided pages. I make my cover to wrap chipboard 6.25 by 8.5 i do 1 inch boarder to make sure i have enough wrap around i will cut it down once my chipbaord is stuck to my cover page. Also for the ppl that are new look up the 5 n one tool it is great to cut the corners good. I have used wallpaper, printed paaper at ups. I also cover my paper wirh contact paper so image wont get water damage. Faux leather is good to make a cover as well. Ive used anot of stuff. When you use fabric the holes in gabric are ok but not great. Its a trial in error but i love mine and master punch the holes with any size book ive done qith my cover larger
Fantastic tutorial...the best one I've watched!
I have the mini cinch but feel like I never get a clean punch on my paper. Have you seen an issue with the Cinch?
@shawntelmonroe3338 no, my punches are super clean. I was worried about that with the mini.
Nit the big one so far. Now fabric is not as clean as paper.
On the mini yes the thinner the paper it dont punch as good so punch mulit paper if it's thinner
Thank you for making this video ... very helpful and gave me some creative thoughts.
Thank you for a great video. I love the idea. I was thinking with your silhouette you could cut person's name out of vinyl and put it on the cover. You have made my mind go...
