@@Raven_Claw-g9b woah look at you go! Thanks!! 😁😁😁
Haha it was fun🥰 Successful hunt for you! And thanks for your sentiments regarding the fires. I’m about 15mi from the closest fire and I’m in a heavily paved area. Others, not so lucky 😢
@@Raven_Claw-g9b awe of course!! I’m so glad you are okay! I can’t imagine how scary that would be.
Wonderful crow footage! I guess bears are hibernating? Thanks for braving the cold.
@@savagesquirrel9828 thank you!! I couldn’t believe how close that crow came to me!! Wasn’t scared of me at all. Yeah hopefully the bears are all sleeping peacefully this time of year.
The green-pink rock is porphyry. Everyone loves finding marbles. I have a small bag ( I refill) in my purse, and I toss one out, every now and then. Nice hunt. Do you worry about bears? Thanks.
@@savagesquirrel9828 thanks for the ID on the green-pink- we see that rock a lot! Good to know. I love that you toss out marbles for people to find- that’s amazing 😂 and I don’t worry about bears this time of year cause I hope they are hibernating but in the summer months I do stay slightly more aware of my surroundings on certain beaches - the ones that have woods right up to the water, mainly.
Nice hunt. I’m glad you have company, even if shy. Thank you.
The green could be epidote
@@savagesquirrel9828 thank you!! I will take all the ID help I can get!
The bird may have been a cormorant.
@@savagesquirrel9828 ohh good to know- I think we have those here
Just stumbled across your site. Nice! Good finds…good friends…the best! Thank you❤
@@savagesquirrel9828 awe so glad you enjoyed- thank YOU for watching 😊😊😊
I so wish I could live there ❤
@@debbiebrunssen8773 it really is a special place ☺️ thank you for watching 💕
-30 in Healy, won't see the river till June
Agates feel waxy and you can see through them. I always carry a small flashlight when I hunt for them!
@@sherylgifford9387 a flashlight is a great idea! Especially when we don’t have any sunshine for months here in Alaska! 😂
Have you ever hit the fossil beds in Anchor point? I'm a local, hit me up !
@@cplatter38 that’s amazing! My friend offered to take me in the spring 😃😃
My friend found a piece that's being studied at UAF and two different wasps not yet named! He gets to help name one of them.
@ woah!!! That is incredible!!! Alaska is so cool 😎
Great video, Thank You
@@waltergutherie9935 awe thank you for letting me know you enjoyed it- I really appreciate your comment! 😊
I live in Wasilla (Mat-Su). I'm a rock hound too. I design & create jewelry. I had no idea Alaska had agates. Let me know where a good spot to go this summer. Thanks! I'll subscribe to check in & see what's up. Blessings...
@@terryashak7 hello fellow Alaskan! 🤗 thank you so much for commenting to say Hi and let me know about you- I love making jewelry too! You can find agates on any beach on the Kenai peninsula! 😊 happy hunting!
i love you video
@@OceanShell1990 thank you so much for watching!! So glad you enjoyed it.
Beautiful video!❤❤❤
@@marciajohnson6767 awe thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it 😊 I’m trying to post at least once a week from now on.
Wow, that sea pottery is so beautiful!!! Yay for the agate and sea glass!!
@@Raven_Claw-g9b yeah that pottery was so unique. There is an abandoned cannery right next to this beach, so I wonder if that is why I found the pottery and milk glass- both very unusual to find in Alaska!
Looks like a Common Loon.
Thank you! It was hard to tell.
I watch a lot of rock hounding channels. I like your cheerful personality. Keep it up!
@@naturallyfocused oh my gosh thank you!! That means a lot to me 😊 I just filmed another video this afternoon 😁 thank you for subscribing!
Bring him a peanut and he’ll be your friend for life. Might even help you find some agates!
@@Raven_Claw-g9b lol I love that idea! And you’re right, they are so smart he probably could be an agate hunter 😁
Aren’t they! Crow find agate. Crow get peanut. 🥜 Do you know if those are American Crows, like we have here in Southern CA? Found your channel browsing agate vids, and this one is definitely my fave so far. Happy Holidays!
@@Raven_Claw-g9b your favorite?! Wow! Thats a high compliment! Thank you! There seem to be so many agate videos. I think the one I just posted most recently is my favorite - I found the biggest agate yet, for me 😁😁
@@Raven_Claw-g9b and yes, according to my birds of Alaska poster we have American Crows and Ravens here. It seems very rare to see a Raven though. I’ve only seen a couple since living here on and off since 2019
I love when Ravens make an appearance. I see them here and there, but the crows love driving them out, so I’ll settle for some American Crows😜
I really like the gray striped one and your HUGEMONGOUS agate! woohoo!😁
@@kgathercole4728 still cannot believe I found one that big!!! It’s triple the size of any big ones I’ve previously found. I love the striped one too, very unique.
Love your day at the beach!!! Agree EPIC finds ❤
@@michellemarieanderson1161 hehehe thank you!!! It was a fun hunt!
I love the tiger one
@@marnieo.7299 me too!!! I bet it would be amazing tumbled.
Orange transparent stones without stripes are carnelian.
@@ГадяПетрович-н6щ thank you so much for clarifying! I wasn’t sure the proper terminology
I especially liked the pro-sizing!
@@HomerFOG hahaha thank you!
you do realise agate is a form of quartz
@@billywhitehorn6397 yes, microcrystalline, tried to show that towards the end. But always learning, I’m definitely a beginner 😊 thanks for watching
Love the Alaskan scenery! Always so beautiful! That little bird was so cute! Love your explorations!
@@RandySandmann awe thank you for watching! I loved the bird too! Can’t believe how close it was to me. Glad you enjoyed the scenery, it never disappoints.
your camera is REALLY good! NICE SHOTS!😃
Thank you! Works beautifully for distance and landscape shots. Struggles with close ups though 😂
Looking forward to seeing more videos from you ❤
Awe thank you so much Kris! I have a couple more videos on the way! Stay tuned ☺
In the future, I will film more scenery and less of the ground 😂 watching this back, I got a little dizzy! Sorry bout that. Hope you enjoy anyways ❤😊
I enjoy both the ground and the scenery. I'm literally yelling pick up that rock and that rock and wait go back 🤣
@ lol 🤣 I knew I had to be missing TONS of good rocks. Thank you so much for watching!!
