Damn...love this so much! Really hit home. Just started my channel last year. I am a photographer and then moved into video making. Some of the things you are talking about I have realized naturally. For instance, choosing a smaller goal or working on my dialog and how I talk to the camera. So good man. Thank you.

What a great video! I started adventure filming this year. It has been a huge learning curve. My goal for the future is to reallt capture the story and really put people there!

Easily one of my favorite creators Levi. I especially loved the section about scripting and opening your video. The thought process of doing that as a VO after the fact makes so much sense to me now.

I have it all the time. And it´s hard to recognize if it´s just a good perspective to change something what is not working (for example in edit or script) or if it´s just too much diggin into detail, which will not be noticeable in the whole picture. Anyway, I have to tell myself...just finish it, and try to improve one thing in comparison with your previous video. At least you can learn what you did wrong, and try to improve it next time. Hope that will work

Great story and also very nice movie. I had a goosebumps seeing that free solo walk...man. As you mentioned, diving into your passion, your community, is the first and the most important step to bring back some stories (I am trying to manage it as well, but I am just on the start). Also, I can imagine the fear of red camera on set. That big guy will freeze people out, so sometimes is better to get smaller eq just to don´t kill the spirit and natural behavior. Great tips! Looking forward for the next video

i have had a studio to do my work in for the last several years up until i moved to hawaii. i currently have a tiny desk that barely fits my 2 laptops and speed editor. i have to mic or camera set up. yet i am able to get my editing done almost as much as i would like. (meaning when i sit down to edit i usually do some editing) i do miss having some things always set up and ready to roll, but the content i am working on currently does not need those things. maybe that will change and i will need a better space, but maybe the change i am experiencing is just what i need for this moment of my life.

this is great food for where i am in my creator journey. it has taken me some time to get to where i am, but i am here. i film as often as i can, and edit the same. when a video is done i publish. i am not trying to be fancy. i am try to be done, and build habits. going to finish this video and watch some more of your content. thanks.

Damn, you started another channel! You were part of the reason I started "adventure" filmaking. Now I shoot for a couple channels and have learned a ton in the last 3 or 4 years!!!!

Levi, you are one of the very few authors on TH-cam who talk so sincerely and openly about what he does. The experience you share is really priceless, even if you think it's not enough. I respect you for not monetizing yourself like the same McKinnon. It's bad or good - it doesn't matter, the main thing is to continue to explore your inner world. And we are all with you :)
