Many videos of drum corps over the years lack hi-fi stereo soundtracks. Where I find such videos and have corresponding hi-fi recordings, I will sync them and post the results here. The goal is simply to fill some of the gaps in the video history of the Drum and Bugle Corps movement.

LITTLE SPEECH

"Mickey Mousing" is considered a low art form, and I am not above employing it extensively. Fortunately, the meager artistic value of the video editing does not diminish the high caliber of the musical composition. This video is presented merely to entertain both eye and ear.
Bass Clef Sessions

Four short tunes from the "Bass Clef Sessions" collection published by Shawnee Press: 1) A vulgar Americanization of a popular Russian song. 2) The Greatest Trombone Piece Ever Written. 3) A tour de force of my REAL TIME tuba skills. 4) In which the nobility of the French Horn is mocked by the raunch of the Marching Eb Alto Horn in all its nasty glory. Enjoy!

Miles, you never disappoint. Not in high school and not now. You and your jazz band are a class act! Congratulations on your Midwest invite and showing the world the great things happening at UK. BRAVO!

Love the 5 bones. Kenyon-esque bass bones on each end. Lots of depth. Nice band! Swingin’ plenty. Well done.

Takes me back to the Kenton era . Thumbs up to a great sound. THANKS,
“Where are my trumpets?” Oh they’re there man! AWESOME!!!!! Great sound. Love it!!! Thanks for posting.
Nicely played repertoire. I really like your build up of the intensity of the wonderful sounding vibrato on this organ. This model rarely shows up on the used market. People find your organs good homes and never list as free because it invites foolish aloof scrappers and parts salvagers to build yet one more guitar amp there is no shortage of! This really is a great sounding organ! You do it justice. 🙂
One of the GOATS. Impeccable show.
❤
I still remember seeing them perform in finals that night. Omg. Incredible. And still is to this day. There are times I miss the shows of this era. Just a great time for marching band.
So great!
Wonderful Band and Wonderful Performance! Thank you for sharing!

Even their noses are in line!
GRC won that year didn't they? Thank you so much for sharing!
No, Lafayette was 1st in 75, and GRC was 2nd. GRC was 1st in 73, 74 and 77.
Love them... Is Steve Moore the trumpet Soloist?
@@williamsmith6511 - I agree!
@@williamsmith6511 Still is
@@bc82sop42 Did you see the small band Danville Marching Admirals that year? That beat everybody. Including Lafayette. Grand Champs. Twice. Gordon Henderson wrote both their shows.
@@williamsmith6511 - I saw them but not that year but they were awesome... do you happen to have a video or recording? They were about the only corps besides Christian County west of Lexington, KY doing a wonderful drum corps style show with awesome uniforms and I do have a video of them from another year. I will find it. Congrats if you were in that awesome band!

Wonderful
Very cool!
Great! I look forward to more
beautiful!
You play very well mom keep it up,I would like to visit you one day
I’d forgotten how ridiculously great that drum line was in 1979. I mean, they broke it OFF in the other bands that year. Over the top great for a high school band.
They really were. J. Larry Moore was an awesome director, and he had a magnificent group of students to work with. This band really set the standard for Marching Band in Kentucky and beyond. Very impressive.
She plays nicely
I wished that my parents could had afford to buy me a concert organ, but I ended up with a low end Thomas spinet organ and I did not play it as much as it was no fun with limited sounds, but more of a fun machine than an organ. I am wondering if this Lowrey is transistorized or vacuum tube tone oscillator? I see the photo of you on your organ as it you look beautiful.
