Argus A2F 35mm Film Camera
มุมมอง 3132 ปีที่แล้ว
The Argus A2F 35mm camera was made, pre war, in 1939. It was the top of the line when it came out. It was the first American Made Camera that used the new 135 Format film. It has a Bakelite Body, Aluminum Backing, weighs 414 grams and has a cool leather screw on case. The lens of collapsible and best guess suggest it’s a 50mm lens. It has a Helical Focus from 15” to Infinity and is Anastigmat. ...
Experimental Film Photography: 35mm strips in a 4x5 Graflex
มุมมอง 5484 ปีที่แล้ว
This video is a doozy. It was shot over about 2 months time span. I had an idea to use 35mm film cut into strips and load them into my film holders for my 4x5 Graflex Large Format Camera. It worked. Here is the process, including development, of how I did it. Stay till the end to see the first photo.

Graflex Crown Graphic
มุมมอง 7K5 ปีที่แล้ว
This week we take a look at my Graflex Crown Graphic (also known as the Graflex Pacemaker Crown Graphic) 4x5 Large Format Camera. What I thought was the go to Press Camera for it's time, but i've since found out i was WRONG! PFt. Not the first time. I thought this because it is often mistaken for the 'Speed Graphic' which is identical except for the lack of a focal plane shutter on the Crown Gr...
Brownie Target Six-16 Box Camera
มุมมอง 9K5 ปีที่แล้ว
This is another cool Box camera to look at. Not very practical to use today. It uses 616 size film which is basically unavailable these todays. You CAN buy adapters to go on the ends of 120 film to make it wide enough for use, but honestly, it's just not worth it. This is a cool camera to sit on a shelf and look at, or maybe use it as a prop in a play or musical. It features a F11 and F16 f-sto...
Old Camera Review: Nikon CoolPix 80
มุมมอง 18K5 ปีที่แล้ว
In this week’s video I explore a cool digital camera that is 11 years old and still has legs - the Nikon CoolPix P80. It’s not going to be your favorite camera, but can and should be used as a tool to teach kids and others how to take photographs. Bonus, these things are super cheap these days! Lens Review: Fujinon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR
มุมมอง 2.3K5 ปีที่แล้ว
The Fujinon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR is a bad ass telephoto zoom lens, that covers a 35 mm focal length equivalent of 152-609 mm. The high performance optical construction of 21 elements in 14 groups combines five ED lenses and one super ED lens to reduce chromatic aberration. It delivers an insane image quality. But enough on the tech specs. I hauled this bad boy on a cruise ship with m...

Old Camera Review: Fujifulm XP20
มุมมอง 1.1K5 ปีที่แล้ว
Spent the day snorkeling in the Bahamas. I took an old trusty digital camera, the fujifulm XP20. It’s weather proof, shock proof, freeze proof, but apparently not salt water proof. I got about 6 photos taken before the dam thing filled up with water. So this video is a good bye to a fun little camera. Happy shooting everyone. Find me on Instagram at: mikelamb972
Old Camera Review: Yashica Electro 35 G
มุมมอง 3655 ปีที่แล้ว
This Yashica Electro 35 G is one of my absolute favorite cameras to shoot with. It’s the camera that got me “in to” range finder cameras. It’s 45mm F1.7 lens is razor sharp and provides amazing results. It was the first electronic camera, allowing you to shoot in aperture priority. But buyer beware, the “pad of death” is real with these and that my friend will kill the fancy light meter. Enjoy!...
New Lens Review: Fujinon XC50-230mmF4.5-6.7 OIS
มุมมอง 2.2K5 ปีที่แล้ว
I’ve been toying around with the idea of getting a Zoom lens for my XPro 2. So I went to the used market to buy a cheap one to see if I like using a Zoom on the range finder. I picked up the Fujinon XC 50-230mm F4.5-6.7 OIS super cheap on Craigslist to give it a try. Happy shooting everyone. Find me on Instagram at: mikelamb972

Old Camera Review: Minolta Freedom 140 Zoom Date

Old Camera Review: Minolta Freedom 140 Zoom Date
Got one for 2024 Christmas! Excellent video! After watching, I decided to open up the front plate, removed 4 tiny 2mm bolts to see the vertical viewfinder mirror had slipped off its mount (similar dent top rear corner). Dab of glue and back in visual business! After removing the front plate, my shutter lever (top) has a lower lever, a manual shutter timer, holds the shutter open for as long as you can hold it in the spot between open and shutter. Might try 1 roll to see what happens.
Found a sealed brand new one for 30 bucks at a thrift store I got to unbox a 25 yr old camera haha
interesting I used your video for how to open my camera and there was film in mine I might have to figure out how to develop it
I have one to sell, it is in good condition. I will sell it for 60 €
without photos the comparison is pointless
I'm no genius but I don't need to write down $5 + 75 cents to figure out the answer.
What you refer to as "sport" actually stands for SPEED.
Now I can open it. Just tried to stick some micro Fibre cloth inside to wipe down the lens and cut my thumb knuckle and now it's bleeding. The edges r sharp so be careful. I'm selling several old cameras for my cousins wife who owned an antique shop. He passed away a few yrs ago. This one has a wire showing through the front lens, so I'd like to know how to open it up to see if I can fix it amd also to clean the lens
I've recently got one of these. I really like it.
Nice video...but you should have did a small section of your post with the camera using video and posting it in your video. Honestly, I thought you were using the camera do do this video...until you pulled it up. Maybe during your closing segment, you should have filmed with the camera. Thanks for the video.
I know this is a little late to this video by about 4 years just scored one today for 50 bucks at the flea market I don't know if it works two lenses
Why does it keep telling us not to do the one twenty rig... But then offers no alternative could you still take pictures with this camera or not........
Make sure when buying adapters for the ends of the 120 film reels that you buy strong ones- like literally ones with “strong” in their description- the reason being that you (like me) will get halfway through shooting your roll of film, having a great time, pleased with the subjects you chose to shoot- and the film will stop reeling with the winding reel. What’s happening is the resistance is building on the reels and suddenly the cheap, soft, wax-like plastic on those adapters gives way and won’t reel any further. Now you’re in a position where if you have a darkroom, I guess you can salvage your roll of film, but if not, you’ve gotta pull open the camera (ruining your film) and start over. The cameras are inexpensive and available, cleaning and fixing them isn’t too hard, but there’s a bunch of grifters out there (because of course) who want to try and cash in on your interest in trying out an antique camera, while selling you garbage. Be careful buying those adapters- it’ll save you film and money.
I work as an insurance damage estimator. I am restricted to 12 mb of photos upload of a claim and at times insurance companies want HD pics to argue over damaged with owners. I just bought one and will be trying it out. Thanks. I think this is the right type of camera for good resolution with a small file size.
mine had a different logo inside and says its 1942....my view finders are so blurry do you know how to clean them
I just found one of these cameras at an airbnb I feel like those lenses get murky. Did you figure it out?
I HAVE ONE OF THESE I NEED A CHARGER.. WAS GIVEN TO ME FOR FREE.. CHARGER AND 2 BATTERIES ON AMAZON 18 BUCKS ..
You have to know this camera and love working with it, then everything will work out. Supporting that statement is this video. "TLR Lubitel 2 cameras, Lubitel 166U examples of black and white photos" Thank you for publishing!
this fkn intro is CLASS. thanks for the video
What film did you use for the example shots at the end? Thanks!
Thanks for the review! I just got this camera at an estate sale. I'm an amateur photographer just starting out. Appreciate the information and story! I'm glad you're encouraging the younger generation to get out there. If someone had given me a camera at an early age, I might have just been famous by now ;) Ya never know!
....The notches on the film are to tell you what type of film it is (Negative, B&W, colour or reversal(Ektachrome)....and is placed at the lower right corner to insure the emulsion side faces the lens.....Also, the sport finder is a 2 part affair, the 'handle will separate to become a rectangle used in conjunction with the eye 'ring'.....We used these in the early days of TV to shoot rear screens (Ektachrome at the time) for the announcer's backdrops.....If film wasn't so expensive I'd be using mine still, but I'm retired on a fixed income....By the way, the prongs on the side of the lens can be used to fire electronic flash units, you just have to 'jerry rig' a connector......The rangefinder can be used in low light as it will project 2 beams of light when set-up properly, to intersect on the subject....
Hey Mike.....I'm in Alaska. Come on up. I have PRO photos still from the Nikon...👏👏
outstanding thank you very :
My dad and uncle worked at Kodak in Rochester, N.Y
Thank you for this video. I found this camera at a yard sale for cheap and now I’m gonna use it
I have this camera and sadly it doesnt have a memory card so i cant take videos
Just found one of these bad boys over at a thrift store over on Casa Linda for $5 so i’m excited to use it 😎
I bought one today at Goodwill for $21. I despise my Sony, so I am looking forward to trying out this one. It has to be better than my Sony, which I have hated from day one.
same I found one at thrift store last week, it when down to 99 cents today so I came back and it was still there woooohooo
Got picture with Joe DiMaggio at Moana Hotel in 1953 at Banyan Tree..has his arm around my shoulders..have autographed baseball ⚾️ in hand.Have this camera too.Gr8 Memory. He was My IDOL.Met him years later,he remembered.Any idea how much camera, picture, ball as a package would sell for?Mahalo🤙🏽
You're not explaining the good features of this camera. Others explain it well.
Is a miracle that still fully functional. I have a group picture, indoor, it was able to capture the image great. I am watching this video because I did a check of the image Exif details and was able to get the camera model from there.
Just picked up one of these at an estate sale here in Dallas.. super helpful video thanks
My husband found this camera today at an estate yard sale this that he bought for me....for $1 😯☺️! A very cool box camera for sure. Thank you for showing me how to open this bad boy! I couldn't figure it out as I was too afraid I was going to break it! Haha! As with yours, the mirror(s) for the viewfinders have moved/shifted and unfortunately, I can't see anything that I point at, aside for some light or shadows. The strap is also broken on mine but at the fastener (not in the middle like yours). Oh well...its not like I'm going to be using it to take photos, so it will sit on display somewhere, as a conversation piece with my fellow photographers, family and friends! It was definitely a cool find! Thanks so much for your informative video on the Kodak Brownie Target Six-16!
Just got mine for 2024 Christmas! Same here, viewfinder mirrors shifted. Mine has a metal front place held on y 4 tiny bolts. remove them and you have direct access to the front lenses, where I was able to put the mirrors back in place! Now I can see out of both vertical and horizontal viewfinders!
Hi, I'm about to buy one, I hope you can help me... is it better than a Nikon D100?... thanks
I own the same camera , it is ten years old but still works without a single hiccup . Nikon quality .
Same. My is 12 years old and still works almost perfectly fine except that it doesn’t have a memory card
You made the perfect intro , brother . Don't change it . It's perfect .
similarly I have a P90 and when my 8 year old Grandson was staying with us I took him out on a wildlife shoot with some friends and now 5 years later he is shooting Canon with a tamron 150-600 lens doing g wildlife and sports. The P90 got him hooked. I still have my P90 along with 3 professional cameras.
Man great advice and great video. Today's kids are lucky to grow up with today's tech more than my x gen age. I have this camera got it at a yard sale for 20 with extra batt cool zippered case 2 16 GB cards I have higher gb cards. I've taken great pix with it sunsets sunrises bug nature shots and mountain pix too. These are way better than those little credit card cameras and smartphones cause what they offer than those. Great features and not worried bout sharing it passing it around and little younglings run off to take their own shots and viddies. It teaches them how to handle a camera later. Great viddie dad...
Man I honestly just lastnight had the exact same camera put in my hands and you’ll never guess the price I paid for it! So I’m gonna tell you it was free! Pretty good shape accept the garage dust and age accumulated dirt but the inside is flawless! Anyways Idk anything about the damn thing so I googled it and looked at the guy and was like “are you sure you want to give this to me” he said “yea why what is it worth a lot of money” I was like yeah man you don’t know what you’ve just given me. Well that conversation went on for about 2 more minutes and I was like sweet man thanks! And so after all that I started checking it out and well first thing I had to do was watch a video to figure out how to open the damn thing lol and after that I learned that some of this model was from like 1917 so I started trying to figure out the date on the camera and all I got was a bunch of bull crap! So I just watched your video and figured you might be able to tell me how to go about finding what year this particular camera was made. I tried googling the serial number and all I got was a list of serial numbers other than the one I put in. So if there’s a specific way to phrase what I’m looking for on google or maybe some website you know of or hell maybe you might even know? Any advice would mean a lot buddy I’d really appreciate it! Thanks for the video man helped me take it apart to clean it
Awesome review and a great story behind. 👌🏻🙂
Thanks for the great overview and cool story.
where the release button was would of been helpful
A few years ago, I bought some color 70mm motion picture film and used it on a 116 size 1917 brownie 2a. It developed beautifully, and felt really rewarding to bring a 100 year old camera back to life. The only downside was the 70mm film I purchased had sprocket holes since it was for motion pictures.
Sounds like you're talkin' smack about a dude who gave you a sweet deal on his grandma's camera. Who cares if he likes weed. Have some more respect for Ace. Got mine for $5.00 because the people at the thrift store didn't know what it was or how to open it.
Makes me think of the watch story in Pulp fiction 😂😂 what a great story to carry along with this camera!
Nice vid. I got one of these years ago as an award from a camera club. I couldn't figure out how to open it till I came upon your review. Much grass.
i use a cleaning cloth over the lens to keep cap on.
Yeah, your kid can drop it, but don't expect it, or any other camera to work for long if you do.
that's cool man, you're the only one so far that explained the significance of collecting these old cameras. unique photos, every time!
I wish you were a bit less negative about using 120 film spool adapters. I use them for a variety of film sizes and have a lot of luck and fun. It would be nice for people to give i these old cameras a chance to continue to do what they do.
