Cannot Buy My Soul - Kev Carmody Tribute with Paul Kelly

I could not get the video on this to work right, but it's almost watchable end definitely listenable. A great tribute concert to one of Australia's great songwriters, the late, great, Kev Carmody. With Paul Kelly, Dan Kelly, and others.

At the Golden Gate Park Bandshell music starts at 06:15 version 2 of the band, with Brian Timothy Finn I put the whole thing on there even with all the crap at the beginning and end so Paul Hester fans can have a moment

Saw them in Sydney just after 'True Colours' came out. When Neil struck the first notes on 'I got you' there was a mad dash by all the young girls to the stage!
Were was this gig recorded?
Mercury Lounge, NYC
Awfull. Wonderfull.
Thanks for uploading this! King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard introduced me to this group and I'm blown away by their great music and message!
You're welcome! I was fortunate to see Yothu Yindi twice and interview Mandawuy Yunupingu. Now I have to check out King Gizzard etc.
@s0ld4u Wow! How lucky! King Gizzard are a phenomenal Australian psych rock group and recently at their Austin concert they closed their show with a cover of Treaty with their opener King Stingray which I believe have ties to Yothu Yindi, and the bass player on the original track came out too. Very eye opening.
Pure music.
This band was so dynamic around this time. Wish I could have seen them during this stage. But, we gots the goods. Live recordings!!!! Sweet!
Opened with Recurring Dream! ❤
They played Recurring Dream the first time I saw them in 1987. :)
Great video. One of the most underrated bands of all time. It's really commendable how vocal and passionate about Maori culture and history Tim & Neil have always been too.
Great band. Great show.
That was one of my favorite shows ever! Glad to see someone recorded
@@kristen1114 i’m glad you liked it. I went to three shows on the tour before this one and although the shows were all great, the crowds overall kind of ruined things with too much drunk partying for my taste. So when I got to Slim’s’s I decided to park myself right in front, and since I was right in front I figured I might as well try to record the show.
12:20
Mesmerizing, beautiful, haunting
"Like David Bowie" hahaha
I loved everything, but Sweet Guy stands out for Vika's performance.
FABBBBBBBBB! THERE'S ONE AND ONLY DANIEL LANOIS
One of the few songs I can remember from childhood are Split Enz. Met Tim in Sydney once he’s a very serious man these days.😊
Thanks
Brilliant!!! Amazing artists!!!
I understand people have to retire but I will miss them

Beautiful
Top Aussie band, with Paul trying hard not to, however maybe just failing the diplomacy test- btw, his comments are spot on in 2nd half of 2024.
That slow but sure transition from late Split Enz to very early Crowded House can be heard here ❤
Damn! That was a talented band!
Jim Wilson vuelve al rock... . te queremos
Thank you for sharing this ❤❤❤
thank you for remastering this clip, im so glad this exists
Hope this will surface in good quality someday, but this is still great, thanks!
The official doc "My Fleeting House" is on TH-cam with excerpts from this show.
Too bad Angst weren’t on the bill
thanks for sharing ❤
Curt is on fire...amazing...
He was a maniac. I first saw the Puppets in Oct. 1990 in Tucson. I thought the brothers Kirkwood were going to catch fire! I've never witnessed such intensity. This video captures that vibe.
vivio poco y dejo huella en la eternidad
Mind blow I took my manchester britts with me. They thought it a as rubbish.
I'm a big fan but this was so boring and pretentious.
You're not that big a fan, then. It was amazing. As a big Lanois fan, I take what he gives, I don't bring expectations. They are a recipe for disappointment. The set was different for sure, but perfect for the setting.
You must mot be a fan at all. This was an amazing spiritual experience. Just what were you expecting? It was beyond belief.
To each his own.
@@jmsjms296I don't see any issues there. It's not like People are forced to go, do the same thing as last heard from the last time Garcia put it out. Please; robots in a time warp.
Must have been quite a bit of experience. Thanks for sharing 😀😇
Split Enz are an exemplary band that paid their dues and earned success.
78 Parsons st. sunshine ring any bells.
He'll ya
Tim knew this was the beginning of the end(Z). Neil truely understood the how to write a pop song.
Excelente desde Uruguay che hermano, conocí el grupo en 1996
What a treat to see this interview and the performance is Epic!
This was my introduction to Split Enz- my all-time favorite band. -Still crossing my fingers they'll get together again some day for another tour and/or album!
Brilliant rendition of Four Seasons in One Day
I just realized that I've developed a very real crush on a man who has been dead for 50 years.
Tim Buckley was an original !!!!
same here...
first time i seen this thanks for the upload!
Man, love watching those videos. It seems like all new 🙏🏻
13:54 I have been searching for this song for maybe 20 years. I remembered this from a live CH performance on broadcast tv. But hadn’t been able to find until now.
From Tim's eponymously titled 1989 Michell Froome-produced solo album.
noice... great cover of the hunna's classic
I had never heard Crowded House's cover of Hunters and Collectors (throw your arms around me) before this. The original is really beautiful a kinda wistful, whereas this feels a lot more like a bouncy fun jam. There's room for both.
