I am having a headache because of PromQL but this tutorial really helps! 🙌😄
Thank you for the excellent explanation; it was helpful in understanding the topic better.
harray 😀
i have grafana, loki and promtail installed on k8s... why I cannot get many of my pods listed when I select "pod" as label filter?
Good Video. Thanks for sharing it.
Thanks for your learning, but the back ground music was annoying
Very nice tutorial

Hey guys, in case you have more general questions about code instrumentation and OpenTelemetry, you'll probably find answers in this video: th-cam.com/video/ICCspGTRTXw/w-d-xo.html
Hi guys, I've released another step-by-step video tutorial on how to instrument your code with OTel yourself: th-cam.com/video/a1qWMzpDuI4/w-d-xo.html
Hey guys, if you're ready to get started, you can head over to this tutorial. There, I'll show you how to instrument your code, including some really useful tricks the pros use: th-cam.com/video/a1qWMzpDuI4/w-d-xo.html
Hey guys, here's a complete tutorial in case you plan to observe your Kubernetes clusters with OpenTelemetry: th-cam.com/video/NTsK_0t9eRU/w-d-xo.html
I tried, but I just can't follow along with the accent. Closed captioning was getting a lot of it wrong too. Sorry
Please remove the background music... its annoying
I know I have changed this on the newer episodes. Thx for your feedback
Hey everyone! If you are interested in what's new with Fluent Bit 3.0, you can find everything you need to know in this episode: th-cam.com/video/RWdXzgNpYNE/w-d-xo.html
How different OpenTelemetry is from AppDynamics(APM) and which is better?
Hey everyone! I recently made a video comparing Fluent Bit 2.0 and the OpenTelemetry Collector. Thought you guys might like it, so here it is: th-cam.com/video/7XaVJDADPiw/w-d-xo.html
Come on fluentbit, just join the OpenTelemetry collector project efforts!
I also find this absolutely baffling 😬
Tried pretty early on, but it was rejected
Hi. Another great episode :) I would like to know if you are going to do another one with your comparison study updated with the v3? :)
Expected ending: "But, this is like the open telemetry collector, WHY the hell do we need another one?!"
In which part of the video is `promtail` installed? I see that Loki is installed and then logs are just there.
Fluentbit Major Version 3 was released just a few days ago.
Yes I know , I will do a deep dive on it very soon
Great video! Could you talk sometime about vector and openobserve? I'm working with go and k8s and I'm looking forward adding a minimal observability stack. From what you say in this video, it seems like I may be able to do with just the otel-collector, prometheus for short term metric collection and openobserve for long term and dashboards. Thank you!
+1 vector. In my research for our use-cases, otel-collector can't work efficiently with datadog metrics and as the author mentioned for logs. So we choose vector to cover logs + metrics part.
datadog support delta , have you tried to use the cumulativetodelta processor?
Do we need prometheus installed if we use TA mechanism? All we need is TA collector, grafana, isnt it? How to use Grafana for data visualization without prometheus installed in cluster?
🎉 filelog 😅 it's been there all the time but never noticed. Video really helped to solve my requirement.
Good stuff! More episodes plz:)
Very good content. I wonder why no new videos came
My gosh, this is the best explanation for the audience that sometimes have problems with listening, I really enjoy the way to explain everything, clear simple, easy to understand, congrats man I love your videos
Hi! Great video! I would love a tutorial on shipping logs to click house and visualizing on grafana
I couldnot find the answer :D say more detail pls :D
Looks like a complete failure
What do you mean ?
Nice content 👍 Really helpful
The other interesting comment was made by Michael Kopp when he shared ABAP traces were a thing starting from logs gathered via OA
I have seen this interview very carefully. In my note, to drill down into specific item: I think you have made a super interesting question about the soon to be code debug feature release. Were you asking to Yarden if from that feature you would have been able to extract specific values (variables) only visible from the code itself to later transform it in a metric? If this was the case not only you made a very good question but such a feature could be considered a killer one - if you consider that today when you make a request attribute extracted from code classes you need to have some knowledge in advance, most probably shared by somebody who really knows the code for you.
so nice, thanks a lot
Hi sir, it is possible to export open telemetry + springboot application logs, metrics, traces to elasticsearch DB without using docker, other observibility backends like jaeger, promethues , Elastic APM etc. only i need to use elasticsearch server (port - 9200) and need to export to elk db through command line.
Sending logs with logback socket appender to collector was failing on port 4317 but worked on port 4318 http , couldn't find how it's able to connect and work
thanks after many vids i found a useful one
Very helpful, thank you! I agree, SkyWalking is very impressive at a first glance, and I was about to go into ventures with installing it. But OTel was also my preference, which is (as it turns out) not really supported by SkyWalking... meh...
the slack at 6:01 got me
I just want to thank you for the amazing work and effort you have been putting in this videos! Keep going!
I cant be the only person that thinks they have designed this in a very over-complicated way
Thanks for this lesson!
great video, thank you very much.
Excellent ❤❤
Thanks Henrik for this episode. I first thought the title was to catch peoples attention - but - you really brought up a lot of good points on why you have this opinion on the solution. Also great that you gave advice to the SkyWalking team on aligning better with the work in the OpenTelemetry community!
Hi. How to push nginx traces to tempo?
Hi, are you looking to get traces from you nginx web server or your ingress? nginx support opentelemetry : - here is the instruction for k8s ingress: kubernetes.github.io/ingress-nginx/user-guide/third-party-addons/opentelemetry/ - here is how you can enable the module in your webserver: docs.nginx.com/nginx/admin-guide/dynamic-modules/opentelemetry/ The topic is useful for all, so i may create an episode on this.
It’s just a shame that a good video like this with almost 5k views has 10 comments. Anyway, thank you. Very good explanation.
Glad you enjoyed it!
That was a great explanation, thank you very much. Subscribed!
