In high school We hosted an exchange Brazilian exchange student, so I was able to help with the Brazilian Portugues pronunciation, At a festival we even received a compliment from the adjudicator, Howard Sawn (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Howard_Swan) for not using the Spanish pronunciation.

I love this so much and to sing it a second time at that tempo!! that was magnificent. I sang this in a Madrigal group in high school 50 years ago. It is timeless. It made my day to find this.

I love this song! It was first sung on National Television, the Steve Allen Show in NYC, by my Yemenite-Israeli father, the late Avshalom Cohen. Unfortunately, the tape has gone missing. I also performed it with the Brad Shepik group at the JVC Jazz Festival in NYC in around 1998 or so.
