Oh man. This episode was a freaking gem. Some of the absolute best horror and comedic writing in the entire show brought together for this one.

Love the fact that the only one not disturbed by the graphics is Anya, and she is just eating popcorn while it was being shown.

One of the best scenes from the whole show!

Been a couple years since I've watched this one. I've been playing "Danse Macabre" in my classroom while getting prepped in the mornings. Like, a lot. Imagine my joy to see that's the song Giles picked.

It's episodes like this that made Buffy the cult classic that it is, so few have the balls to go "we're going to do an equally thought provoking and funny episode" as Buffy did. Supernatural is one of the others who was able to take time out of each season and do one of these types of episodes.

When this scene started playing I got so confused by dance macabre because I'd always been taught that death played the fiddle and that's why that song happened but the gentleman had nothing to do with the mythos so I was confused but it was funny

From what I understand this was one of the most difficult episodes for the actors

I don't know if I'm going crazy but when I originally saw the episode live, I could have sworn that I remember Xander asking buffy by doing the jacking off pantomime a little more graphically right before Buffy pulls out the stake.

I was surprised Spike didn't know about The GentleMen he always seem to know about every demon on the show Thats this demon ect. He even knew what demon Giles was turn into when Ethan turn him into one.. that was a funny episode Giles was talking normal to the TV Show viewers but to the Buffyverse characters he was speaking in a demon language to them LOL.

This might have been the funniest moments in the entire series. So much comedic goodness in just 2 and a half minutes. Anya's popcorn munching and boredness contrasted with Willow's eagerness, Buffy's offense at her Giles' drawing of her hips, and then of course all the sexual references. In one of the scariest episodes too, loved it.
