We are an evangelical community, founded in 1947 by Mother Basilea Schlink and Mother Martyria Madauss. Today we have sisters and brothers from 19 nations - many serve in outstations. Here at Kanaan in Darmstadt, Germany, day guests are welcome to our Sunday services, daily prayers and to visit our prayergarden. More about us can be found on our website: www.kanaan.org

On the first Christmas the shepherds heard the glad tidings, "To you is born this day...a Savior." And the angelic choirs were praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest..." Filled with awe and wonder, the shepherds set out for Bethlehem, they found the Savior of the world. Jesus is alive today; and if we seek Him we too shall find Him.

I’m so grateful for these videos and stories! They bring back such wonderful memories! As a teenager I visited Kanaan, and it challenged me to live a life in pursuit of His Presence!
We had the incredible privilege of having Sr.Pista and Sr.Mechtild stay in our home in South Africa, as my late father and mother, Margaret and Tony Lighterness, hosted them and travelled with them in the 1970's. We also had the privilege of staying with them on 'The land of Canaan/Kanaan' in Darmstadt in about 1977: they held an 'Easter Passion' play, which was very powerful.
I had the honour of visiting this Land of Canaan in about 1977. It left a marked impression on me. Thank you for posting this ♥️

Long time ago I was visited to Kanaan and stayed there for three times, 2000 2001 2002. At the Prayer Garden in Kanaan Jesus touched my heart when I meditated His suffering.

Mother Basilea's book, "Realities of Faith" has been an amazing blessing to me. I believe her message to us in this time is that God honours our repentance and faith. Our God is truly a loving Father. Glory be to God on high, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for sending us Mother Basilea and her spiritual sons and daughters.
Canaan: A place where JESUS is honored and prayer and worship is meant to always be THE MAIN OCCUPATION ! blessings to all of you precious sisters !!!
