เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 29 มี.ค. 2019
I will upload videos of things that interest me, such as dash cam footage, product reviews, installation videos, etc in case other people are researching for information about certain products. My interest range from Google Home products, home automation - both products and how-to as well as other tech gadgets such as video doorbells, security cameras etc. Hence, due to the wide range of videos, I've called the channel "Bits and Bobs".
I hope you find my content helpful, if not, at least entertaining.

Meal Prep Zucchini for Feeding Shrimp #shrimp #crystalredshrimp #shrimpfood
A short, and admittedly boring, video on how to blanche and store zucchini so you have it on hand for when you want to feed shrimp, or other bottom feeders.

My Rescued Betta and Pygmy Corydoras
มุมมอง 2004 หลายเดือนก่อน
On the 23rd June 2024, I was looking for a 2nd hand tank and noticed someone selling one including the fish that were in it. 2 of the fish were Bettas and the tank was quite small and I could see in the photos provided by the seller that they were severely fin-nipped. Although the tank wasn't what I was after, I decided to buy it just so I could rescue the fish. This is a video showing how one ...

11 months ago I did a rescape of this tank. Unfortunately the hair grass never really took off and the stem plants in the back were getting a bit ugly. Yes, I could have trimmed it back, but I like experimenting with tank layouts so I thought I would give this another go. I've planted crypts in the back right corner and Vallisneria along the back. In front of that is some driftwood with some Ja...

Beautiful fish, they look very happy and active in that environment
Thank you. I love their colour but they are very shy so are often hidden in the plants.
Haha, the Beta looks as though he wants to be a part of the school of Corydoras.
Ur vids are so good yet no one can see them but I’m one big fan of u so keep going I believe In you 😊👍❤
Thank you so much!
Wow a lot of fish I got 2
They’ve wiped out my adult shrimp and started in on the babies. I hate them.
Yes, I ended up having to buy a new starting colony for my Blue Dreams. I now schedule a dose in my calendar for every 6 months as I figure it would be insurance against another loss should I have any hitchhikers on anything I put in tank like plants etc.
@@bitsandbobs356 did you use No Planaria? I have used Panacur and I think it’s killed them finally. I didn’t see many on the glass after the second dose like I have the first few days. The losses really suck as shrimp cost like 7-10 a piece where I live. I created a new tank and put a lot of my healthy stock in there as well. The words and scuds decimated my tank.
Cool
Thank you

Testing ph before and after adding stones, does it differ? I have very soft water
Unfortunately I haven't tested the water before and after as the stones were used in a build from scratch. Sorry.
Nice
Thank you for your comment, as I'm still new at this TH-cam stuff so my productions aren't very polished. I hope you found it useful.
@@bitsandbobs356 very useful. Thanks again.
There are better ways to do this. From my experience, the hatch rate in untreated water is only about 1 or 2 out of 10 eggs. The box where the eggs hatch must not be connected to the main tank, then you can add a very small quantity of methylene blue to keep them eggs from rotting. This will boost the hatch rate to 9 or 10 out of 10. ONE QUARTER of a SINGLE drop of 1% blue is enough for a 1 litre breeding box. As soon as they're born you remove the fry and put them in the box shown in your video to let them grow (or you could put them right in their very own tank up to this point). I do not have access to vinegar heels right now so I feed them with dried shrimp and worms crushed into a fine powder. Good luck
Hi Thank you for your idea. My hatch rate seems to be very high as just a few days eggs have resulted in at least 40 fry from what I can count. I also have some Leopard Danio fry in another tank where I just had the parents lay eggs which fell through a grid. I then removed the adults and got quite a few fry to the point where I might have to sell the excess as I was just breeding to stock my 8' tank. I do use MB when it comes to collecting my Corydora eggs as they are usually left in containers that don't have regular water flow. Thanks again for watching.
Is that CO2 running in the back left corner? I want to start breeding them, but I haven’t seen much info on doing it in a high tech tank.
Yes it is. It's the DIY canister that I put 200 grams Bi-carb and 200 grams citric acid and 300mls water. I'm only doing it to get the pearl weed to condense quicker. Currently cutting it as it grows and re-plant it but it's still not thick/dense.
this is what I installed youtube for some quality content fr
Thank you for your kind comment. I honestly think I have a long way before I would call what I produce is "Quality Content" as I feel it's still very stilted. I've got to learn to relax when doing voice overs and improve on my video taking and editing skills, but it's always nice to get encouraging comments. Thanks again.

Excellent video. Thank you, purchased my NVR a while ago, but didn't install it as my home network cupboard was a nightmare of cables due to the technician that wired everything up. So spent the day tidying it all up and removing obsolete components. With the help of your video I got my NVR up and running! Thank you!!🙂
Thank you for your kind comment. I'm glad my video helped.
@Bits And Bobs regarding the camera Micro SD card vs NVR hard disk. So, these two devices have storage. What's the benefit of Micro SD card? Can you choose where to record data if you have both storages (each card Micro SD card and NVR hard disk) installed?
One benefit of using SD cards I could see would be if you only wanted to have a couple of cameras and already had a PoE switch or 12v adapter and didn't want to go to the expense of an NVR. Since I don't use SD cards, I can't say for certain that you can record to both. I would assume it would be possible but as mentioned, not 100% certain.
What was her original name?
I'm not sure what you mean by her original name. I've never said her name was anything other than Nora, so not sure where you get the idea the name had changed. She's been "Nora" since we had her when she was a week old.
She looks very similar to my bearded dragon so I was just wondering
Thanks mate great order everything but the 15mm adapter and ordered a uberflex 14mm to m22 for ryobi cordless 1800.. was helpful 👍
Glad it was helpful. I actually was using mine yesterday to do good clean of the car. 2 1/2 hours just on the exterior doing claybar, etc.
How do you change the ip address so it works
If you are talking about the IP address of the NVR, then jump to 15:07 in the video. This is assuming you've used the SADP tool to log in as shown at the start of the chapter at 13:10

Not sure why you want me to pick her up whilst she's having a bath, eating or sunbaking. I do carry her around and often have her on my shirt as I am watering the grass of a late evening so she gets some sun then.

Definitely a girl 😃. I think it's amazing how they hold their eggs like that. I can't wait to see the young ones swimming around when they finally hatch.
Congratulations for this video... Great.. Which camera would be suitable for distance 40meters and height 12mts? Thousand thanks in advantage...
Hi I'm not an expert in the various camera that are available as I've had my system up for years and haven't looked at what's come out since then. I suggest looking at some of the videos on the "The Hook Up" channel such as this one - th-cam.com/video/BVg81haX2c0/w-d-xo.html Also check out this site - calculator.ipvm.com/ - as you can input your address and put cameras at various parts of your house, input the camera type and it will give you an indication of what you can see. It does have a short time restriction, but you can re-fresh the screen and start again and for the second (or future goes), you can have your information ready to input.
@@bitsandbobs356 Thousand thanks Brother... 👍👍👍
Thank you, my camera was offline for 12 days didn’t know how to reset. Thanks to your video is now working.

I was planning on installing this completely offline. Is the set up the same via the included mouse onboard GUI ?
I've never used the onboard GUI. Sorry. Hopefully someone else may know the answer.
I for the love of me can't run the SADPT tool, it seems to be broken from their end..
Just got a full system and had to resort to searching to set up. Thanks so much for this, I was able to get the directly connected cameras set up, Struggling on getting the 2 that are connected via the rest of the network rather than direct to the dedicated camera ports on the rear.
Hi where did you purchase the NVR from?
iCam Security Services. Price was $818 but got a discount of $40.90 (Can't remember why) back in July 2019.
Excellent video! 50mm minimum is what I'd use. Looks absolutely amazing man than you for posting
Compatible with my sony a7iii? Thanks :)
The description on Amazon says "Compatible with E-Mount APS-C and Full Frame camera (NEX , E-mount ,FE-mount)" so I would say "yes" for A7III
$AVE your money. Skybell is crap (just like Honeywell... anything!) ! ANYONE promoting it is getting paid. Over 30 year Gen. Contractor here. Skybell is complete crap! Goes out of synch. When you're talking to someone on it it doesn't record that session (if you're avoiding someone on your doorstep and telling them to leave wouldn't you WANT THAT recorded???). Poor customer service (ie: NON-existent). We even have a VILO mesh wi-fi with PLENTY of speed right at the doorbell. STILL doesn't synch'up. Also the motion discretionary settings are a joke. Doesn't matter if you set it to the lowest setting, neighbor's tree OVER the fence still triggers it. It's like they added that setting so you'd believe changing it actually does something. It also misses PLENTY of motion when it's even set to HIGH. So, it doesn't matter. If an alarm company recommends Skybell, FIND A NEW ALARM CO. It's a crap product.
Skybell is crap. $AVE YOUR MONEY !!!
After install of a new, faster Spectrum cable modem (200+ mps), the Skybell would not reconnect to our Google wifi mesh network. After viewing several TH-cam videos and reading comments, I say THANKS TH-camRS! The issue is that the SkyBell only works on 2.4 and NOT on the 2.4 and the 5 that the Google wifi broadcasts. I did not want to try any of the messy solutions offered such as trying to shut off the 5, set up the SkyBell and then turn the 5 back on. The solution that worked for me was to start the reset to the flashing Red/Green on the SkyBell and then walk away out doors perhaps 30 feet from the SkyBell. This also put me about 50 feet and several house walls away from the nearest 3 mesh pucks. It worked because the 5 signal was not strong enough to overcome the distance while the 2.4 was strong enough. The result was a quick completion of the connection back to our network - it was the last item to connect after all 30 plus other devices in the home connected immediately. One caution worth mentioning was that it may not work for large appliances such as a built in oven, refrigerator or washers and dryers. Perhaps in those instances maybe you move the wifi connection further away. To good results for all, and again, thanks TH-camrs for the solution that the SkyBell support team had not suggested.

Hey mate, Thanks for the video, it has helped. However, I have bought a house that has this system and the owners have not left any passwords or manuals. Do yo know how I reset the password on the NVR to start the loading process from the beginning?
I worked it out.
@@jeramiefaint4361 Thanks for that. Would you mind posting how you did it in case others have the same issue? I was going to suggest trying the default password of 12345. Glad you got it sorted.
Hi, can you tell me if this NVR also record the audio stream from hikvision audio capable cameras? Thanks!
Sorry, I'm not sure. Perhaps another viewer may have audio enabled cameras and can confirm.
I got a foaming nozzle kit from Aldi but I don't know how to fit in our hose. Thanks for giving me a tip in this video.
Glad I could help!
I did this and my Skybell is still not recording motion. It's as if the motion detection just stopped working. But if someone presses the doorbell then it will record.
Hi Dan, When you go into settings and turn on Motion Detection, what level of sensitivity do you have it set to? Maybe try Medium or High. I usually have it set to "Low" but unfortunately in windy weather, it becomes annoying as it picks up the plants in the garden waving around in the wind and I keep getting notifications. It's a pity it doesn't have the ability to set active zones for monitoring movement. Good luck and hopefully it works again.
@@bitsandbobs356 I think the internal battery was bad, but couldn't get inside it to test or remove and replace. I know when new if the battery isn't fully charged some features don't work and this happened with my older Skybell Classic and I discovered the battery was bloating. But this one is a Skybell HD version 3.1, which is like 6 years old, so I ended up buying a new Skybell version 4.0 and everything works now. But, the Low sensitivity setting is way too sensitive as it's recording motion from bushes being blown by the wind and the bushes are like 30 feet away. I do notice that on this new Skybell that it uses more of a fisheye lens, so now I can see more of my front porch. But the picture is a bit over exposed, compared to my previous Skybell. They said the internal components have been upgraded but other than the fisheye lens, I'm not seeing much of an improvement. The 5x digital zoom is still terrible when compared to other devices that do this. I'm not really happy though that the company doesn't tell us that the battery has a limited life and if we replace it our Skybell will work again. But it seems like now they even made it difficult to get to the battery to remove it. They'd rather have us spend $199 for a new Skybell instead of $15 for a battery. And it's still only 1080P video!
@@Resist4 Hi Dan, I just saw your comment and ironically have just sent an email to them asking them to think about adding the ability to define zones for motion detection. The reason I just did this is there was an update to the app, us it's windy today and I keep getting notifications. On days like this, I turn it off but then that defeats the purpose of having it record someone who may be lurking around your front door. It should be any easy software update to the app.
@@bitsandbobs356 Was windy today here too and I got a lot of recordings of bushes blowing about.
@@Resist4 I just got a reply and they said: <Quote>Thank you for the suggestion. It is something that we are currently working on and is on its final stages of testing before public release. Please look forward to the feature in a future upcoming update to the SkyBell HD app. <End Quote> 👍👍 Good News 👍👍
Nice images, what I find interesting is the drift to out of focus images at night compared to the daytime images, is this due to the fixed lens?
Hi Dave I'm not sure. Sorry. I would think most cameras don't get great focus with night vision. Perhaps there is a Hikvision forum that may have more knowledgeable people.
thank you for this very detailed video
Glad it was helpful!

Hey mate love your vids. Just wanted to see if you know any other places to buy the M22 15mm spigot as Maxi's have sold out
Hi I'm glad you enjoy my videos. I'm very new to doing this stuff so I feel very stilted in my commentary 😃 Anyway, I did a quick Google for "M22 15mm spigot" and found this - www.pressurewasherparts.com.au/m22f_x_14mm_-_22mmm_x_15mm_hose_spigot It's not the complete thing but perhaps you could join it onto a hose somehow. Sorry, all I would be doing is Google searches myself. Not sure where to go otherwise. Good luck and thanks again
Hi, If you can't find a 22mm hose with a 15mm spigot, then the following might be a work around. I found this 10m hose with a 22mm screw and 14mm spigot www.pressurewasherparts.com.au/10_metre_light_weight_%7Cnon_marking_%7C_medium_duty_%7C_high_pressure_hose_with_22mm_screw_connection_hose_fitting I believe you could possibly then use this 14mm to 15mm spigot adapter. www.pressurewasherparts.com.au/m22f_x_14mm_-_22mmm_x_15mm_hose_spigot I'm thinking that might work.
Very good. Thank you

Hi, As I wrote in another person's request for a link to another hose since MaxiPro's link does work was ... I would have to Google for a supplier, which is what anyone can do, so if I was to add another link, it also may become out-of-date at some point, so it's best just to let people Google at the time they need it and for their local area. Have a question about the parts where you are walking and you show 4mm 2mm do have different cameras or you changing the settings on the NVR?
The Bedroom and Lounge ones are 4mm, the Garage and Back Yard ones are 2.8mm. All 4 are the DS-2CD2355FWD-I model cameras.
hi mate, seems the foam is not thick enough on the surface of the car and it drips fast. is that because the psi from the machine or the foam cleaner liquor amount?
This was literally the first time I used it so everything probably wasn't tweaked as well as it could have been. The very first time I tried the foam, it was mostly water. I had to adjust the dial on top to reduce the amount of water coming in, plus reduce the nozzle opening. I was also conservative with how much product I put in the bottle as it's expensive. At the end where you see me reapplying the snow foam, it's because in the time since I had applied the first lot, I had washed the other side and wanted more foam on this side before washing. I hope that helps.
