Dude, let me recommend Don’t Starve and Pikmin, both are limiting sandboxes but they do something for me, and might for you too, we seem pretty similar, with our thoughts on harvest moon, half life 2 which I also only strated playing in 2020, heck, we’re even the same age, and even though those two games seem a little more limiting than Minecraft the freedom in simplicity makes them amazing, trust

Vanilla just doesn't do it for me anymore unless i play with friends I have been playing since 2010, across all platforms from pe to raspberry to wii u and ps3/xbox360 I personally found happyness in old modpacks of all things (currently gregtech (0.5 steam after 70+ hours, in my defence i was setting up infrastructure like roads lol) Old minecraft objectively wasn't better Updates improved things from world generation, to how things work internally But i would be lying if i said i didn't enjoy it more playing gregtech on 1.7.10 I just feel more at home in older versions Like a hermit living away from the city because i know i won't fit there, it's not how i play, it's not my style But at the end of the day, i love minecraft And have for the past 14 years Wether you play or infdev, alpha or 1.20 We are all playing minecraft

I've started playing beta 1.7 3 and it's like back to good old days, feels just as it was playing minecraft for the first time when I was a kid :") the bad thing is that I can't play that much cause I'm an adult and got work and responsibilities 😭 but playing beta feels so good, its something I couldn't feel playing new versions. Its interesting but for some reason playing the newer versions with bunch of new features and updates feels really lonely and I just quit after a day or two, but beta dam it feels like home🥺 (I didn't start playing minecraft with beta when I was a kid, so I don't have any childhood memories of it but it still brings back those same feelings) AND BTW!!! Your house looks really cool i might steal some of your ideas :D

To me at least the game became increasingly difficult to jump in and play the more content that was added. I understand absolutely why adding content is necessary to lengthen the lifespan of the game and increase replay and continued play satisfaction. But it’s reached the point where it feels like there’s just so much going on with it. Yet somehow years later we don’t have a dehydration bar in what really is an open world survival game at its core.

I have the same issue. I can’t play a single world on my own without getting bored. I have beaten the ender dragon 6 times. Out of those 6, 2 were on my own. When I was 13, when the ender dragon got added to pocket addition, and when I was 15 back in 2019 when the game blew up again. Since then I beaten it with friends on realms. Literally as I’m watching this video on my break at work, im thinking about what other materials I’m going to need to beat it and making sure my friends have the coordinates to it on discord. 20 years old now and this game I begged to get when I was 11 on my tablet, is still a major part of my life. Minecraft is never going to die. The communities around are always dying but a new one always starts.

the stuff about minecraft being lonely is so true. it is lonely, and for me, that's what makes it so fun. i'm the exact opposite where i have always played singleplayer and everytime i play with friends, while fun, i'm always longing to go back and work on my singleplayer worlds alone. i have always been good at entertaining myself, and i adore lonely minecraft. it makes me feel so serene.

The constant 3 minute music breaks really destroyed the pace, good video overall but it felt like you wanted to move the viewer emotionally and figured the best strategy was to just be like “wow isn’t this music beautiful” and hope that does all of the heavy lifting since “the blocks look less crisp” isn’t a great argument for modern Minecraft being less ideal

One thing I decided to do was to try to build a great big village but it often feels tedious and boring to build everything myself so I found an older mod for 1.12 or so called Millenaire, it has many different culture groups like the Byzantines Mayan and Indian cultures that will have small villages pop up over the map and as you trade with them you grow your reputation and they will grow their village with the resources you give them and that they can gather themselves through various buildings that spawn in or are made by the villagers. It's a fun mod and I'd recommend giving it a try, but I find it ultimately have some gripes with it like the limited area of building they have and their inability to rectify lakes and hills is annoying. I've tried other mods like Minefortress or Minecolonies both of which are good mods btw so I'd say. But my problem was it required too much player input choosing where to build everything and the thing that interests me to play mods like these is that I'm interested in how a civilization builds itself over the environment it's in, and only Millenaire has come close to that for me. Anyway that enough yapping for me.

I downloaded Minecraft yesterday and I'm playing it for the 1st time. My brother always used to go on about it. He begged me to play with him, but I never did. I'm not a gamer by any means. I spent the first 5 game days trying to find a village before finally settling down in a forest. I have no iron or diamonds, and my first house is not coming out well. I'm 30 now, and I've never been into video games. But for some reason, Minecraft was calling to me. I can't explain why.

wow rly cool video music is too loud especially in the end so sometimes i can't understand what u said sounds like u used sidechain from voice, so may be add more of it. and yeah, music just too loud. at least 2-3 db quieter pls. and if u don't wanna make it so, i'd try to cut a bit wide from music 2-4 db around 150-250 hz and 1-2.5 khz (u can try 400-600 hz too). so u make make space for ur voice just by equalizer (and music becomes kinda less intense) (i'm a sound engineer so i know what im saying) anyway i like the idea of loud background music and it feels like that's the thing that makes Minecraft the Minecraft like ur content, subscribed <3 hope it helps!

Good video. I played Minecraft with friends back when it was Alpha; shoot even back when pocket edition first came out on iPhone 4. Over a decade later, my closest friends and I go back to Minecraft every 5 major updates because of life, and Mojang never fails to amuse us with creativity and innovation. From P.E., to Java then Bedrock, I’m proud to say I’ve been through it all. I haven’t even seen the Ancient City, yet. Now, we are all 24 years of age with professional careers and last week we started a new world, years since COVID lockdown. Minecraft did become much more intense with all these new biomes, mobs, and building materials. It’s much more difficult, but as we were playing, it’s only redeemed as difficult because we remember on how simple this game was back then. Today, the game slows us instead of us pacing it. Because of that, we can only enjoy the new chapter and this time with my fiancé. I can’t wait for all of us to discover the new features that awaits.

only times i go back to minecraft by myself is if i get a build idea from a new block, like when cherry trees were added i generated a single biome cherry forest world and built a neopolitan themed build using cherry, birch and dark oak, the walls trim and floor being those 3 woods alternating each of the 3 floors

I think it is because we grow up. As kids we can hardly get bored because attention span goes out the window. We were very literally throwing things at the wall and see what sticks, but can easily be distracted by something else at the same time. As adults we have much longer attention span, more observative, we remember things longer and for single player game that can be a problem: I haven't touched Control for years now, not because I don't like it, I FREAKING love it, none other like it in the market. I'm waiting for my memory of the game to fade so I can play it again and be awed again.

So far I’ve found the best way to enjoy the game more it to… well.. cheat. Using waypoint mods & just using the in game commands sometimes helps me get through some of the menial & tedious - though small - annoyances which would otherwise drive me away from the game like travelling, rerolling enchantments. Take out the unfun bits & leave the good parts (exploring, combat, building)

  • @seanthomas6563

This is ridiculous. The game is literally designed so you can build and create in any world biome and version you want. If you don't want the current stuff it's super easy to load up the older version, just like you did. The real issue here is peoples brains keep asking to be guided. Most games direct you to every single step. The reason you were having fun is because you had a goal. You set the guidance your brain craved. If you enter a world with no idea and no reason you just stand around and do nothing or achieve nothing. The blocks, the textures, the added content, none of it is a reason to not like this fantastic game. Now I do personally have issues with Microsoft for work reasons... but they have managed not to ruin this game.

At first i saw the title and thought "pffft he thinks minecraft is hard" *click* i very quickly realized what you actually meant with those words which i resonated with deeply on how its hard to pick it up at times and even when you do you forget about it for long periods of time. Often i find myself just deleting the world because i forgot the original vision i had for it which is why i never have more than 1-2 worlds at any given point. I dont *think* ill ever get that magic back but amongst all the 100 day hardcore look at what i did youtubers im glad to know im at least not the only person 'struggling' with this. Very well made video i enjoyed it a ton
