Actually this was scheduled to be a A321 which at that point I was disappointed since I had not yet flown on one. However, now turns out this was one of my last A300 flights. It was retired in 2009 from LH and still flies in Iran.

Yeah, it was pretty bad, most of these old 145's rattle and squeak a lot. I was seated at the bulkhead just behind the galley so that's most of the sound.
JA OBRIEN not a fan of the E145’s.
They are ok for flights like this, but I've had some pretty long flights that were not fun (iah-yyz etc.).

I remember spending the day outside that day for hours, and there was a pretty strong wind in Central Jersey.
Wow...they didn't reduce power according to the Orange County Noise Abatement ordinance.
I noticed that on the flight too, always did any other time I flew out of there. However, I wonder if there is an altitude that this does not apply too, since we were empty and the climb was very fast (only about 15 pax).
From what I understand, all aircraft have to power down to 75% from Flight Level 1 (1,000') until they reach the coastline, regardless of passenger capacity. Of course, I could be wrong.

JA OBRIEN I remember that day in May 2010. It was a Saturday and I went outside and it felt like I was standing on the bow of a ship going full speed. Very strong and consistent west-to-east winds.

Not so much that day, think they were just using that for the props to allow more traffic off the 22s.
Okay. I was delayed my day since most landings and takeoffs were using 29. Only a few planes which needed more runway took off 22R.
I took off from that runway on a full SWA 737-700 yesterday. It’s rare but it can happen. Wind sock showed strong and consistent west-to-east winds.

That is what I show in my log. I think it's pretty close actually. It is only scheduled 2:35 gate to gate, and is 1100 miles, so can be done. However, checking flightaware it looks like most flights are 2:40+, but there are a few in June about 2:20.
40 second takeoff, not too bad. I remember that day, it hit 105 degrees in Newark, 102 in central NJ.
Nearly full throttle and still needed about 44 seconds. Yeah, definitely heavy.
For sure it was a reduced thrust takeoff, but not too much as it was a full flight. I think you can tell because after takeoff the same thrust seems to be set (after the small noise abatement cutback) for the climb for another few minutes., and again after the level off at about 5:00. Hi, one question... were you in the left side of the Airplane, right? If you came from USA how did you see the Alps, did the plane turn before landing?
From the left side you can just see the ALPS after the turn on final for landing to the East. I don't think you would see too much more on the right side, and with the sun angle might make if difficult to see.

Thanks, the camera did a great job with the low light, it was actually pretty dark, but picked up the light very well.

Somewhat long roll for a 752 on a short flight; probably the heat and the long runway.
I noticed it too, it was hot, and the flight was full, but still light..only 200K takeoff weight, well under the 248 it can handle. More than likely reduced thrush takeoff. Get that a lot at IAH, on 737s they pull up the gear and flaps and then pour on the power for climb.
Yeah a full flight will make it roll a bit longer, though the 752 usually doesn't need very much with a full cabin on a short ride. IAH's runways are pretty long too. I also know most flights tend to roll quite long at DFW during almost any season despite only being 600 some feet in altitude, but many runways there are over 13,000 feet long and temperatures can be scalding.
Pretty sure they do reduced thrust most of the time. I've flown on the 757 out of BRS with a full load and a 6600 ft runway with no problem (but was interesting).
Yeah, certainly not a weak takeoff though judging by the pitch of the engine sound. Who knows, sometimes there is lots of cargo aboard besides passengers which pushes its weight higher. Think its MTOW is about 255,000 lb. I'm guessing heat and runway length also determined where it rotated. Still, not too long at 33 seconds from maxing thrust to liftoff.
I'll be flying to London from IAD in November but on Icelandair with a stop in Reykjavik Iceland. Hope to see the Aurora lights over Greenland :-D

Twice getting the exact same plane...you just never know. UA/CO has 41 of these 757-224's. Only been on one myself (N19117) once but it was nice to fly on with the video on demand.
+ecoRfan Really not that unusual with the amount off flying on CO/UA I have done in the past, it's more unusual to get one I did not fly on. On my recent trip to Ireland last month got one more of the ones I was missing, down to just 2 of the 41 that I haven't flown on now.
Wow, you've got a lot of flying experience on the UA/CO 752's. Almost as much as if you were a 757/767 pilot at UA

Must suck to be cramped into a 757 for almost 7 hours...AND you have to buy your own food...a thing that only used to happen on cheap airlines...a shame they dont send you on a 767 or 777 anymore...legacy airliners are a complete fraud nowadays.. except the new american.
