Mesmerizing Constant Lightning - Kansas City, MO - June 13th 2024
I was staying at a hotel in Kansas City, MO when this line of storms developed to the north and I was lucky enough to be in the perfect location to view these storms in close proximity!

Five Days in Iceland

My buddies and I took a trip to Iceland in late September of 2021, and it's a trip I'll never forget. Rowan University Fall 2016 Intro to Mechanical Design Claw Project

The goal of this project was to create a fully automated claw designed to pick up an object from one area, and place it into a drop zone. The object we used we had previously designed in Solidworks and 3-D Printed. The claw was powered by three servos and an arduino board. That was a good day for sure. Been filming thunderstorms from around here for a long time. The last couple years we’ve gotten more lightning shows It seems like for some reason.
According to lightningmaps.org, lighting was occurring at a frequency of over 200 strikes per minute! We don't get storms like this on the east coast, so this was an absolute blessing to witness in person. Also I'm sorry for the lack of stability in the footage, I was pulling double duty recording this video in one hand and trying to record slo-mo in the other hand :P

He will take worlds next year. He is so busy this year. We were seeing a distracted Paul last week. With the spot he ended in he will make sure it doesn’t happen again.
I imagine he’ll show up bigger next year after taking a lot of time off. Like you said he’s got a lot going on, and he was injured so he was not playing at 100% Despite all that he still placed a respectable T13, which I think is pretty solid considering everything

Beast mode on full display. Insane he stands there so stoically just before crushing long putts and competitor's chances. Time after time after time he's done this. I'd be curious how changing sponsorship and putters has affected his long putts. Wonder if it has increased, decreased or not changed his long range putting accuracy?
I don't think switching sponsors has affected his long putt accuracy. If anything, he's improved his game over the years (with the rest of the field) and thus had more opportunities inside the circle than outside. Of the clips in this video 37/100 are from pre-switch to Discraft, 63/100 are post-switch to Discraft. Part of that is aided by the fact that Jomez didn't have a full tour season until 2017, so that's only two full tour seasons where McBeth was with Innova before he switched to Discraft in 2019. So statistically speaking there was less footage of Paul pre-Discraft to choose from.
1st of all, you're awesome for putting this together. I honestly think about the final putt for -18 down at Toboggan (at 9:35) all the time. What a monster

Anyone else notice that Paul foot faults some of his jump putts? His lead foot, that's behind his lie, sometimes looks to be leaving the ground before he releases the disc I think 24:21 is a good example, the other putts are a bit harder to tell.

Great footage. For years I have been wondering when will be the last time he runs in a big putt. He seems to walk in the majority but does the run in now and then still.

The first in the montage and the put from the 60 ft roll away show why McBeth is such an icon in disc golf. Also crazy thinking how long this would have taken, incredible editing with the audio carry overs and transitions.
Just think how many days of video to scan through to find these.

@Matthew Barrasso But the end result is really impressive. I watched and was inspired by it. The next round I played, I had those visuals and the 100% commitment of McBeth in my mind and made 3 C2 putts in 18 holes! I rarely make anything from C2 and am an unranked old amateur.
*Paul on his knee, lining the last impossible shot...* *Throws and 2 seconds later chains ring* Jerm: "I'm done..." and walks out 🤣 Not sure how many times I almost walked away just from watching this montage, can only imagine 🤦♂
