Was at the show in the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin last night, 22 June 2024. I'm from Dublin and still remember the first performance during the interval in the Eurovision in 94 and the impact it had.. it was stunning to see then and still has the wow factor! The talent on stage is off the charts and none of the cast was born when RD started in 94! Keep Going Riverdance!! 👏👏

I’m 71 years old. Irish. Live in Norway. I take part in a theater group. They insist that I dance on stage. I don’t think I’m a gifted Irish dancer but the Norwegians love Irish dancing and they think I’m fantastic. I always hope there are no Irish in the audience. River dance brought Irish culture to many places, including Norway.
I saw Riverdance last night in Sydney with my Dad. It is undeniably the greatest show I have ever seen. Phenomenal.

Either the crowd was small or they didn't think the performace was up to much. 25 years on and they were well below par for me.
Great 25th show, but pales compared to the original.
I thought Jean Butler and Sean Dunn did very well in their performances in about 1995 : The Radio City show.
@@dogwithwigwamz.7320 That was also a great show, but the original has never been matched. I have seen 3 different casts now, none have it like the original.

I'm not sure why but I've never really enjoyed the whole "Trading Taps" part of the show. As one of the many descendants of the Irish diaspora, it feels like people forget about our ancestors who went to places other than America. In fact here in New Zealand, some towns have so many Irish surnames you'd be forgiven for thinking that you were looking at an Irish county phone directory
It's not Riverdance without Michael Flatley, the new guy sucks!
Flately was barely in Riverdance overall. He was very much disliked by the dancers and crew. Flately was a self-absorbed, selfish, egotistical bully. Your comment makes it obvious that you know nothing about him. Do your research before you insult people. It just makes you look like an ignorant troll

The female dancer (Jean Butler) went on to have a long career in p@rn under the stage name of Janet Mason. Her speciality was taking on BBCs.
How about turning some of the lights back on !!! You can hardly see what's going on!😮 I must say that the second version of this show was the best so far.

Not sure why, but alot of the arm movements and just movements in general seem quite stiff. The 1995 show had this sort of fluid motion to it that was so graceful, but this just seems very stiff.

I love Riverdance, but this didn’t really didn’t do it for me. It lacked heart. No one smiled! No one seemed to be having fun! And the lead dancers just…lacked something. It was technical, but that’s about it. Disappointing.
Do you have a preferred filmed performance?

i thought i loved 'macedonian morning' before, but tara howley's performance on that low whistle made me cry like watching somebody i love get cut open. so plaintive and full of fresh grief. i can't stop listening to it.

Iiiiiiiiiiii just saw the Riverdance at the James Brown arena in Augusta, GA last night 2/9/2023.....and it was completely *ABOVE EXCELLENT*!!!!!! (This is a Must See show...You must take your Loved One). My favorite song/Dance is at 1:28.36.....The whole show was so full of Energy, Surprises and overall BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Being gay, it'd would be sorta nice if they had some LGBTQ content. Maybe two guys dancing together? It is, after all, the 21st century. And all of the guys are cute and talented. Why not?

It is a show about different cultures and how Irish people were determined to keep their culture alive despite a colonisers brutal attempt to destroy it. Irish culture survived and thrived because of the determination and bravery of Irish people throughout 800 years of brutal occupation. That is the theme and focus of the show. A country's cultural identity, not a person's sexual identity.

25 years ago, it took 20+ musicians along with 2 percussionists to provide the musical score for the performance, it only takes 7 very talented musicians and 1 highly talented percussionist to do the very same today. Hands together for each and every one of them. All are the very best in the industry. I almost forgot the 4 corps drummers who are great performers in their own rights.
