Yes but I was haven't gun issues so it didn't come out as good as it usually does. Even in the end though it still flowed out and laid flat.
what clear did you use
I used Glamor Clear by Axalta.

Lol Fresh paint is suppose to be wet and shiny , cost compare to House of Kolor there ain’t but a few dollars difference to know you are getting quality on down the line - oh and there’s no difference in guns except for the tip size -

On my dv1 best base coat gun on the market period but it does ok for clear to I put the 1.4 tip crank up the pressure 5 pounds over base and it's ok at clear to.

HVLP is not the best for a thick clear a regular gun A reduced pressure gun and lvlp gun or standard gun would be the best

Oh for sure. I've never had a clear where the 1st coat looks like 2 full coats. Stuff is great man.
where can i get the bolts with the rubber grommets on them?
I would just do a search online. I tried myself and though I didn't find the exact bolts I found a few that might work. The biggest hurdle with these engines is parts since they aren't made anymore.

Yeah sorry my light and camera sucked when I made this video! If you look up underneath you should see a screw on the back of where the headlight mounts. There's no panels you have to take off. Thank you for the view and comment!!

Where’s part 2? I’m doing a carriage now as well. I love hearing you use all the wrong terms for the parts. The part names are so different than cars. The steering mechanism is the fifth wheel. The thing with the curly tails is the swingletree. Wheels are made of hubs, spokes and felloes, which are the wooden parts of the rim where the spokes go into. What you have isn’t an old carriage. It’s made in Quebec by a company called Voiture Robert. Aka Roberts Carriage in English. :-)
Hey Josh! I'm not sure when part 2 will come. Part two was going to be me restoring what I would call the cab. I did this job for a gentleman's wife as she had multiple carraiges/ wagons she wanted redone. However, the gentleman passed away about two weeks ago. So I'm not sure if/when there will be a part 2. I thank you for your information you left! This is my first time ever touching a wagon/Carriage and I will research the info you left so I can start using the correct terms for if/when I do future videos like this. Once again thank you for your view and comment!
@@Ram010108 Oh I hope you get to finish the project.! They’re quite fun to work on. Mine is from 1885 and is a fully enclosed coupe with windows and fully lined in leather. Finding nuts and bolts is the problem I’m having but I think I’ve found a supply. Your project is lucky to be able to used modern hardware. Can’t wait to see it. Come help with mine in your spare time!
So...you use a 600 dollar base gun but use a harbor freight spectrum as your clear gun? Something ain't right here. That dv1base should lay that grant 7 out so flat it should be impossible to run it even at 24psi. The dv1 was built for uhs clear.
I used the Dv1 for both base and clear. I said the spectrum HTE is what I typically have used for clear in the past but I lost a plastic piece so I stopped using it. The DV1 comes in both a base coat and clear coat gun. Can you use both guns for each application? Sure. Also. No matter what gun or clear coat set up you use if you aren't paying attention you can run any paint.

even though the dv1 you have says it’s for base coat, what you get spraying clear coat is just as good if not better. usually gun retailers name them for base coat or clear because of the fluid tip size. just change the tip to a 1.3 or 1.4 for clear. all the gun internals are exactly the same. i tried the black widow hte for base & clear & it lays paint flat but side by side you can see a big difference.
its all about the correct tip size and air pressure for whatever your spraying. The black widow is okay but honestly from use i like the lower priced spectrum HTE much better. Thank you for your view and comment!
@@Ram010108 yea i keep hearing hte’s lay down much better than hvlp guns but i only have the black widow to test that. it all comes down to each individual & how they lay down paint with their favorite gun. i don’t get why gun manufacturers label a specific gun for base or clear knowing it can do it all with the correct tip size & aircap thanks for sharing knowledge around because back in the day no one would share what they knew especially at work

@@Ram010108 yes their high I ended buying a data jet 5000 hvlp that I hate it only has full blast if u reduce the psi it sucks and a lph 400 lv for clear now that is a gun if I could do it again I would buy 2 more lph400 over the sata

Purple gun isn't horrible its what I started on. I definitely thought the spectrum was a lot better though. The purple guns coating comes off real easily.
