For me, 2001 is the greatest movie of all time. Nolan did a great job with Interstellar, a movie that is capable to create an athmosphere and feeling that is quite comparable to 2001.

Git Nolan'ın ağzından dinle bakalım Kubrick nasıl bir üstadmış, sadece 2001: A Space Odyssey filmi bile sinemada bir devrimdir; sinema tarihinin en iyi bilimkurgu filmidir birçok yetkin kişinin nezdinde, Nolan dahil: Al bak 2001 hakkında ne demiş Nolan: th-cam.com/video/kbbkHW0wR3M/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Saupq4ol7c4svA09

Scenes in the war room were shot with longer lenses than the rest of the film, giving a sense of distance from the actors. The hysteria was viewed with a remote analytical eye.

Listening to the podcast I'm shocked to hear MM saying, firstly, that he doesn't remember any other scenes that were discarded. When prompted he then recalls the Duke Of New York scene (this is the FIRST scene ever filmed, it's Call Sheet 01, 7th Sep 1970, available at The Stanley Kubrick Archive. Shot at the Apollo Pub on Pinner Road (now a Tesco Express supermarket opposite Cornwall Road) Harrow, Middlesex. 27 cast members on camera and at least 10 crew). He then says 'Naaaa, it was never shot, never shot' which I'm afraid is complete and total BS. And that's just one of many that I've noticed over the years. Sadly, he's unreliable when it comes to his recollections.

ahead of the curve...i mean that helicopter in the shining passes by the yellow beetle. Nolan's opinion is so so clear and open minded. Kubrick was and will be the best director of the past and future. His work is like a group of enciclopedia volumes. The Napoleon of the Cineamtic Art. A Genius. 2001, a space odissey and The Shining are the two most important movies of the history, The rest...and i mean...the rest. Apocalypse Now, The Godfather, Citizen Kane, Nosferatu, Potemkin battleship, The Mother, Oktubre, etc There are in a second category.

Nolan and Kubrick have similar styles. I think Nolan is the most direct heir to that style of filmmaking. They both have done extremely large, but extremely personal films. Nolan's films connect with you on a similar emotional level, particularly something like Momento.

What these guys failed to do was synchronise the camera track with the slide movement, as well as zoom and focus. Trumbull used what was known as a Selsyn motor, which locked all the movements together. It could be easily achieved these days using digital motion tracking equipment.

It's no surprise that she was pressured and taken advantage of by unscrupulous men in the Hollywood film industry, all too common until recently. Everyone in Hollywood turned a blind eye towards adults having sexual relations with underaged boys and girls.

"To see a film once and write a review is an absurdity," he said. "Yet very few critics ever see a film twice or write about films from a leisurely, thoughtful perspective. The reviews that distinguish most critics, unfortunately, are those slambang pans which are easy to write and fun to write and absolutely useless. There's not much in a critic showing off how clever he is at writing silly, supercilious gags about something he hates." -Kubrick
