In this video, I show the never-before-recorded biofluorescent abilities of echidnas. Biofluorescence in mammals was first discovered in 2017 when flying squirrels were observed glowing under UV light. Since then, several other mammals have been identified with this trait, particularly in Australia. It has been hypothesized that this ability may serve various functions, from communication to predator avoidance, though much remains to be understood.
