I think any ski resort which suggests it does not have days like this certainly in Europe is being economical with the truth. In America / Canada - they have surge pricing which means on a nice day for weather and snow they jack up the price by a huge amount. Ultimately you have to go where you can afford. There seem to a lot of videos showing blue skies in La Thule.
Good to see Corbetts getting filmed too many concentrate on the Munros in my opinion some of the Corbetts are better mountains to hike this looks a steep wee cracker thanks for sharing David 👍
If you go to La Thuile is it realistic given a fair wind to land at Turin and get to the resort say by mini bus and get half a days skiing in? Frequently package deals give you 6 days skiing which feels a shame not to get 6.5 days. Any comments very welcome.
I have flown from Glasgow at 07.00 arrive turin around 11.00 local time 2.5 hour bus transfer so in La Tuille around mid afternoon not worth a half day ticket imho. That was a package deal with Crystal. Might work if flying from south of England. Hope this helps ATB
@@paulbirrell5057 Hi Paul, thanks for that tip. Yes, I have seen that the standard holiday package is not geared up to squeeze in a half day. Would you go back to La Thuile?
@@charleswillcock3235 probably but prefer Cervinia or Val de Fassa in Italy. La Tuille is relatively small compared to the big resorts in France. I have a few more U tube videos of trips to Val d Isere, Courcheval in France And some Austrian resorts as well.
Hi mam I from India I like your video I want to talk to you live on video call
Thanks I enjoyed that, I used to live in Station Road and left Carluke in 1978.
Thank you. Fond memories of doing this run with my daughter a few years ago.
Agree with some of your comments. Only skied in USA once at Breckenridge in 2008. Horrendously expensive now. Thus video was filmed on only bad day of week I posted some others in better conditions. The big resorts in Europe can be crowded e.g Val d Isere and Three valleys but tbh never had major issues with crowded slopes or badly moguled runs.
This video underscores why I prefer skiing in Colorado or Utah to Europe. In Europe, there is too much cat track skiing, narrow runs with lots of people that are skied out by late morning. The afternoon ski conditions in these places is usually bad by noon. Colorado and Utah have plenty of resorts that are so big that the runs are rarely crowded and, as a result, the runs don't turn to mogul runs by noon. I am glad that I tried skiing in Europe but likely will never do so again. I never had the bad conditions of Europe in North American ski resorts.
i remember at the the bottom of the first slope i fell and it was my first time skiing
So they permit snowboards up there ?
Just how it was in June 1974. My dad drove one of the floats for Atkins. Then my family migrated to Australia. Miss the parade.
I have watched your TH-cam videos. Your TH-cam video content is nice and attractive. I have been watching your videos for quite some time now. I like your TH-cam videos a lot. But your TH-cam videos are not SEO (Search engine optimization) friendly, so your videos are not getting more views and subscribers. your videos are not appearing on the top of TH-cam search results. I have fixed these issues for some of my previous clients, and their channel growth is much better. I can help you to grow your TH-cam channel if you want. Waiting for your reply. Thank you.
Nice run. Happy to survive 😅HA HA 😅😅😅😅
That’s looks a fantastic hill Paul, one to add to my list. Spectacular views looking over to my favourite Munro, Ladhar Bheinn. 👍
Thanks Linda I was lucky with the weather a little rain overnight but otherwise beautiful and nae midges!!

Kev and I camped on the Brack a few years ago. Nice view point. 😁 I assume you're also bagging the Corbetts?
Hi Robin Yes only 29 to do but all a fair distance from central Belt. Did the Munros twice took 20 years each time 1975-95 and 1995-2015 Work and family got in the way plus a few other interests.😂😂
@@paulbirrell5057 a bit ahead of me, I got to 180 on Friday there. Tough nuts to crack.
Off to do this tomorrow, looking forward to it.
Enjoy Robin the only downside for me was ending up with some bacterial infection from drinking water. In over 45 years of hillwalking I have never had a problem drinking from mountain burns. Maybe need to invest in a filter🤣
@@paulbirrell5057 oooft, not good. I suppose there's always a small risk. Luckily my new filter arrived last week.
Rather you then me doing that. Tried skiing a long time ago at Fort William when I was in my mid 20's, on the second day the so called instructor took us complete beginners down nid wall full of moguls, a truly awful day, by stopping and starting and falling multiple times I got two thirds down it, and the slope got steeper and it became so scary I took my ski's off and walked down the rest of the run, and for the rest of the long weekend I was just mentally counting down the hours till I could go home, and I swore I'd never try skiing again, and now 40 years later I haven't.
The sniper hit me a few times
P r o m o S M 👏
I have a tip on the plastic you have to turn right across the slope side to side
Very nice carving slope. I am planning to go there from West Midlands.
Black run? Get some speed up. Carv

Well I didn't know we had ski resorts in UK. You learn something everyday. But I suppose the snow doesn't hang about for long unlike in Europe.
Hi Not sure where you are based but yes Scotland does have a number of ski resorts (5) all are quite small and as you suggest do not always get much snow ( most of it is blown away). On a good day it can be almost alpine but on a bad day Well!!! Hope you enjoyed video. I have a few more based on European resorts.
Brill 👍🏻
Your on holiday to enjoy yourself go at your own pace.

That's a great run done this a few time.
Can we rent the ski Or we have to have our stuff ??
All Scottish ski centres have ski hire although best to book online.
@@paulbirrell5057 ok thanks mid February will be ok for skiing?? Wathe wise ??
@@silvaboy6741 Being Scotland weather can change from day to day. Cannot quarantine great snow at any time. We suffer from strong winds a lot. Again best to check online.

@Miles Clark you are welcome :)
What;s up with these comments. These guys never claimed to be pros. They are out to have a good time! Mission accomplished!!!
Omg! Ski resort in UK? I have to go there!
Hi There There are 5 ski resorts in Scotland all tiny by European standards. All are closed just now due to Covid which is a shame as conditions are best for a number of years. Being close to Atlantic the weather can be wild often white outs and blizzards with ice rather than snow. They say if you can ski in Scotland you can ski anywhere. Not sure about that as powder is rare!!
I never knew Scotland has ski resorts, this I'd like to ski!
5 small resorts look at snowsports Scotland on Internet for details. All closed due to Covid which is a shame as conditions best for years.
Beautiful! Steep but smooth hard snow, you can really let em rip.
What’s the snow like? It looks very icy. I normal go to the alps but this year due to covid the holiday is cancelled
Hi Aaron In Scotland you can have everything from Powder to Ice to Slush and sometimes in the same day!! In video it was quite icy in parts. I have several other videos of Scotland on my channel which will give you an idea of the varied conditions. All ski centres closed just now apart for locals due to Covid. Unlikely to change in near future. I have trip to Italy booked at end of January but expect it will be cancelled. Need to wait to 2022 at this rate.
what its like skiing in Scotland any recommendations, where is the best place to ski?
Rare to get good blue sky days with lots of snow cover but when you do it can be good. Obviously no comparison to continent or N America but for me only 2 hours from Glenshee it is fine. Runs are all quite short mostly blues and reds check out webpages for Glenshee and Glencoe or Snowsport Scotland for more details
@@paulbirrell5057 good to know, I've only been skiing in France and Italy, Scotland for me is 6h drive from Midlands. I know it might not be as good as Alps, but I just hope its better than indoor skiing, as that is crap😁 lol
Teuchters out skiing? Whatever next...
Thank you for no music 👍
AJ this is Scotland so freestyle limited but have a look at Glenshee webpage for more info
Are the runs their rated green red blue and black
Glenshee is mainly green and blue with some red and one black. This is Scotland so runs short and graded according to weather I. e. Often icy zero visibility or blowing a hoolie. Hope this helps PB
if these are bumpy for you shouldnt go to black slopes. this was a normal red slope with moguls
Lol
