Magic.Always dreamt of getting a 1916 conversion in my Superbug.Now I'm 71 and drive a Subaru Outback.
Did they find the wheel?
yep, we found it thankfully
Don't know why this popped up in my feed but I had the pleasure of attending Mount Cotton at the end of October for a Volvo Trucks event..... Beautiful part of the country.
Legend of the track and workshop 👏
is the name popejoy familiar?
Way to go Stan!!!😅😅 I see you used to race Veedubs. I had a VW once and had a wheel come off while driving to work on Ipswich Rd outside the Army base. Hub and all because I hadn’t tightened the hub nut to the required 217ft-lb! 😅😅 Car slid gracefully down the embankment, then a bloke up on the road called out “ Hey mate!! Here’s yer wheel!” 🤣🤣
Shear terror....
Hi Stan great to see you are still racing .....well that was entertaining nice neat spin well done ...Yeh I had two spins right there as well from just trying to hard I never hit anything either ha ha ...Any way cheers Bill Norris (Norris Hawk Mk2)
Not a crime to lose your back wheel - many men once they get married they seem to lose their back wheels or at least it appears that way to me😂
Did I see a kangaroo up ahead just as the car came to a stop?
No that was the rear wheel. Took half hour to find it
Lucky. Good reminder that all motor racing is risky if not dangerous. But good to see you living g on the edge mate
I'm still driving my Purvis Eureka with the crankcase and heads you machined to take the 1915 big bore kit, back around 2011. Not a single issue in 30,000km. Great work.
That was crazy!
Plenty of men died in Chapmans cars when they fell apart before the finish
What? Not a vw?
What a way to finish an event !. Like Colin Chapman said a racing car should finish the race then fall apart .Glad to see you 're ok Stan .Tim Velingos here from CID days ( katana rider ) a mate of mine bought your GSX 1100 cent clutch . Hope to see more of your racing videos .
That couldve been worse if it happened on the sections with drop offs to them
Hi Stan, long time no see! Graham Mercer from the drag racing days :)
Hi Graham, strange was only speaking about you and the bike club the other day.
Well done lad. I love a good mechanical across the line. It shows you drove it like you stole it. If you interested. In my opinion the best one of all time is a female gymnast on the uneven bars. She does this really powerful and flawless routine. And as she is in the air doing her dismount. The apparatus collapses to the ground. She lands perfectly to the biggest cheer ever. Look up Uneven bars Apparatus collapses at end of female gymnasts routine
Happy to see it was a happy outcome for a serious event.
Biggest legend I need one of his engine s or a crankshaft please Stan🙏
"Oh no, there's a turn, let me touch my brakes a little bit". It totally reminds me of Gran Turismo. I know a lot of tracks. I like to catch a little air at the beginning of the corkscrew on Laguna Seca (Mazda raceway). Reverse lap is a little tricky...
I was starting to wonder if you had a fourth gear. Very nice run - fast and smooth
what's been done to improve handling? is it swing axle or IRS?
That is not even close with my 1200cc :D :D :D
Awesome glen, very smooth driving. The engine sounds powerful as you would expect from pobjoy. Also love the inside of your bug. Nice work man
stole my colour ;)
There is so much to "dislike" here :-)
I worked with Robyn and Donna at Woolies.
Standard stroke 69mm and 94mm pistons.
Very exciting to see, what makes a 1916cc as far as crank size and piston??
@howmanytimes1717 It's been a long time and I can't say for certain who it was.......Stan
That Stan crossed the line at 159 + MPH in this run.
legend!!!
