What kayak is that?
Im late to this vid but i was looking at your bait and like that looks like a hiro shad..me not noticing the title 😂😂
Greetings from Chandler AZ! I met you out there at Ocotillo, I learned alot from bro. Keep them videos coming!
Hey man! How did we meet? I'll probably still remember it!
@@randykast87 you came out to throw the Ganterel and nailed some nice 3 pounders. I have my neck and face tattoos, Carlos
@@CB-ch9wn ooohh yeah! What's up Carlos!
@@randykast87 What's good Randy 👍🏼
Awesome video. Just subscribed to your channel for future vids. Keep up the good work and tight lines
Do you prefer a higher gear ratio for big swimbaits and glidebaits? Would an 8:1.1 be too fas?
It depends on the bait. For wide gliders like a deps 250 or a RM mother/ Hiroshima trout, I do prefer the higher gear ratio reels so I can pickup more line quicker. However, you do lose a bit of torque to crank the fish in. So I make sure to use a power handle on my higher gear ratio reels to compensate for it. I don't think that 8:1.1 is too fast - as long as you can manipulate the bait effectively.
Bro put the damn rod in your stomach and crank up and down you it would’ve been way easier to fish the fish it ain’t a damn musky
Gorgeous area
Sucks about the miss. Nice catch!
Sick bite!!!
Those ones are tough keep on casting.
what a schlobb!!
Nice to see you post finally again! Are you not in az anymore?
Ya I moved to Maryland in July. I will definitely miss AZ.
@@randykast87 awwwww damn I’m just getting into glides
Shit isn't holy but nice fish
Is this the similar set as mine that you were telling me about today?
Ya. The rod is a Phenix blank custom though. The reel is basically the same.
Nice fish braddah
Great catch . Arizona Desert fishing is tough. Only few understand
Hi, What kind of net are you using?
It's the bass pro gold series net.
Got to lose the kayak and get a boat bud. More space and you don't got to worry about falling off the f****** thing with a big fish pulling you one way and you trying to counterbalance grab the net and just the chaos that ensues. You would have landed the fish had you had a boat with space to fight the fish and move around. But in your defense I totally get it and understand it's a challenge that you enjoy and like being in a kayak and it's different you can get into better spaces and places it's a lot more subtle and fun. To each their own but just know that loss could have been avoided. Cheers mate!!!! Tight lines!!!
That was SICK!!!
Love the hobie!
And new sub here
I use spoons for trout and Striper but never have done what your doing just letting it flutter down then jiving it I’ll try that!
I have thrown deep cranks to the right of that rock at night with such good luck in the past, Great job!!!
dude so sick! what lb test would you recommend for the hiro 10?
I use 25 lb pline cxx/ izorline. The pline is stronger. I was using the izorline in the video.
@@randykast87 Thanks Randy for the insight. Couldn't find the weight of the hiro online, what would you say- around 7oz?
@@louistrinh5350 yup. It's right around 7oz. A tad heavier than the deps 250. LDC xh 8' is perfect for it.
@@randykast87 thanks man!! appreciate the info
@@randykast87 you got me hyped!
My Dream
two words, line management
Haha ya I suck at that.
nice!
What is your set up? (If you don't mind sharing) that rod and reel look like a smooth combo. I'm looking to purchase my 1st swimbait rod and reel and have been looking at the Dobyns Fury line
Hey bro those are some nice setups. Hey I was curious about where you mounted your boonedox landing gear. Does it work pretty good there?
I mounted the boondox towards the back of the kayak. It works well!
like the abu 5600 for swimbaiting?
That's the rcn (record) 6600. One of the best round reels. Unfortunately they don't make them anymore
That was a big A$$ dragon fly !
Damn big fail
That’s a BIG ASS fish!
Nice video! Which is your net? Thanks!
Thanks! It's the basspro rubberized net
People who have never swimbait fished in their life are trying to tell you what you did wrong 💀💀💀 you did everything right
Test results came back and....That is in fact...a lie
One thing he definitely did right is recording the strike. That was epic.
Love the tagging with a zip tie haha I’ve been doing that with a buddy on our local lake and we’ve already recaught a couple 😂 only like 4.5s tho 🤷🏼♂️ still cool to see how they move around
Nice catch but Need to release faster you stressed that fish out
Fish was fine. Plenty of water dips and swam away strong.
@@randykast87 Right... can always put them back in the net and dip them back in the water in between. Nice catch.
Just because they swim away does not mean the live you fuck head.
Bucket month,
Can I join u lol
Hell yea nice catch
Sick bro!
Maybe you should release that Bass sooner so you won't injure it. DAMN it !!!!
Plenty of water dips. Bass swam away strong.
Plenty of dips? 2 solid minutes out of the water, followed by about 7 seconds in the water then out for another minute plus. You are an asshole. Hope I see you on the water you piece of shit.
What lb line do you use for deps 250 and what rod rating? Thanks
25 lb p line cxx. I throw it with the XH lowdown custom up to 8oz.
That skip is just fucking insane
how does that rod balance? i'm used to dobyns and when i try other rod companies it seems like most of them are tip heavy and really not fun to fish with.
Hmmm I have gotten rid of the rod since I upgraded to low down customs but I remember really liking it. Lost very few fish and felt good in my hands. I could cast all day without issues. You can always use a counter balance on the butt if you don't like the balance.
@@randykast87 could you link me to something for counter balancing? I've never heard of that and I can't find anything about it
@@Jon-nz3dm www.mudhole.com/Fuji-EWBC-Weighted-Butt-Cap?gclid=Cj0KCQiAvc_xBRCYARIsAC5QT9kqweRV4yjQrZWeccsdyyoHIYm3ohzCrT8ssRvlr-DtXx8up3DtTf4aArczEALw_wcB
@@randykast87 awesome, thank you so much! most people wouldn't go out of their way to help like that.
@@Jon-nz3dm no worries man. Have a good one!
Sweet Fish!!! Cheers!! :))
I only swear when I fish, and i fish alot.
Damn that was gnarly. Soon and the bass thought it had the glide pinned against the surface WHAM!
Crazy vid dude!!!
Dang man I would cry! This spot looks insane & you are really good at skipping those big baits.
