Pro sounds better. More lively and more character. The Brewster sounds slightly more dead
This is amazing! I think the suhr is great and so is the warmoth but I'ma go with the warmoth for that custom edge!
Thank you so much, I appreciate it!
which one do you prefer LB or custom shop?
I have a set of regular Thornbuckers with 4 cables in a PRS custom 22 and all the 5 sounds with the rotary switch are simply brillant, crisp, sweet, so well balanced. A major upgrade from the Dragon II pickups. I even liked them a bit more than the Lollar imperials I have in another PRS. They never get buried in the mix nor they are brittle at all. The neck position has the right amount of weight and the bridge has a sweet top end that is lovely for clean stuff. I trully recommend them if you are looking for a moderate output pickup. If you crave for SD JBs forget about it. These pickups have moderate output and DC resistance. More on the vintage PAF side of things.
What’s your preference?
I love both of these guitars for different reasons, but I slightly prefer the Lincoln Brewster strat. For me, I really like the soft V neck and compound radius on the LB strat but they both sound great in their own way.
Just ordered a Lincoln Brewster!
Awesome playing and tone!!!
Thank you, really appreciate it!
Fender American Pro II sounds more fuller.
Why do you keep twiddling your knob? It’s not good you know.
What were you playing on the high gain section?!
I made this video quite a while ago, but I'm pretty sure I was just improvising during the high gain part of this demo. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the press!

A truly fantastic instrument : th-cam.com/video/22z0Y_mFLKQ/w-d-xo.html
It’s funny, I’m thinking of doing the exact opposite. I like the neck so much on my Richie Kotzen Tele, I’m thinking of getting a custom neck for my Strat with the exact same specs.
I have actually put the original RK neck back on this tele pretty recently. Forgot how much I liked having that extra neck thickness!
@@brett_mcreynolds I don't have big hands/long fingers, but I love the thick neck. Very comfortable for some reason. 👍(and I don't know about yours, but the fret work is the best I've ever had on a non custom guitar)
Liked American pro tone better
Advantage: that Brewster neck!!!
Promo SM
Dude your playing is awesome for the time you’ve been playing. Great job
Thank you, I appreciate the kind words!
Good stuff
Thank you!
Sounds great well played 🔥 👏
Thank you!
Great dude 👍
Thank you!
I prefer the lincoln brewster strat. Nice killer lead tone by the way. What effects and settings do you use?
Thanks for the kind words! For this video, I was running a Wampler Ego Compressor (on all the time) into a KingTone Duellist (for drive tones). I had both of these pedals in front of an HX Stomp, which I was using for amp modeling and delays/reverb.
To me the Warmoth sounds better for this track on the neck pickup. It's more mid focused. It might be help for the Suhr if using some bass cut EQ.
The Warmoth definitely has a snappier feel to it. The Suhr has more low end and would benefit from a bit of bass cut for the EQ for this track. Thanks!
Both are great guitars and amazing playing 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you!
Do you have a link to which neck you chose? I would like a thinner neck as well
I picked the neck profile called "Standard Thin" on the Warmoth custom neck builder. Here is a link to their custom Tele Neck builder: warmoth.com/index.php/telecaster-neck-builder
Do you have any finish on your roasted maple neck?
Nope, roasted maple doesn't require one and I decided to leave the finish off of this neck
Good day sir, please Is there a way I connect with you. I want to ask sincere personal questions. Please. You sounded very good and you tone was amazing. You cleared me alot on what's pastor Lincoln Brewster plays
If I put the same micro dimarzio without boost will it sound the same more or less??
Yes, it should more or less sound the same. The boost on the Lincoln Brewster strat is completely out of the circuit when it is not engaged. So it does not influence the overall tone when it's off.
@@brett_mcreynolds ok thanks bro.
@@brett_mcreynolds to play pink floyd or jimi hendrix dimarzio pickups are good or not?? Bro
@@jokerjoker3967 I'd recommend the Area series of pickups from dimarzio for that style of music. They're hum-cancelling and have qualities of vintage style pickups which would suit that style.
This was a lot of fun to watch and listen to. Thanks!
Thank you!
hey man you just compare 2 guitars with 2 fretboards ok : useless !
Not useless at all. You think that fretboard wood makes much difference at all in an electric distortion tone? Mythology and nonsense.
You got his tone! Loved it bro. Even your guitar, my dream guitar. I'm also a Lincoln Brewster avid fan. 🙂
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
If you have basic sets of skills, once you know what you want in a guitar, there is zero reason to buy off the shelf while Warmoth exists.
Great Channel Great Content!!!! Great Playing!!!!!!
Thats one badass axe!!!
The Hot Rod Lincoln wins for me.
Can you do a demo with these two where you play the exact same thing and alternate between the two before switching to each position? If you do all 5 positions on one guitar before switching to the other guitar then people will forget what each switch sounded like compared to the other one. Example: Do switch position 1 on LB strat, then switch to the AP strat and do switch 1, then move on to switch 2 and do both Strats on that position before switching to 3 and so on. Also, your mic needs better placement as it sounds like its behind a wall or something. Not trolling just offering some tips.
Thanks for the input! No microphones were involved actually. All the tones were recorded direct from a Line 6 HX Stomp and my guess is that the reverb I used isn't your preference.
@@brett_mcreynolds Ok, but at least alternate back and forth better between switches so we can compare them back to back.
I'm a bit biased - seeing I own an AmProii strat with the exact same specs. But I personally prefer the sound of the Lincoln Brewster strat. Although the AmPro is probably cheaper. I personally thought the high end on the AmPro ii was a bit harsh. But maybe that's how youtube compressed it.
The American Pro II definitely has a bit more high end bite. It is also cheaper than the Lincoln Brewster strat. It's likely mostly down to the pickups and the DiMarzios in the Lincoln Brewster roll off some of the sharp high end.
Lincoln strat i choose Nice démo and playing
Thank you!
Hey Brett - Very nice! Are you playing without a pick throughout a lot of this? 😀👍
Thank you! I believe I only went without a pick on the lead part starting around 00:47 and ending around 01:35. Everything else should be with a pick or using hybrid picking.
Bravo très musicale. Super son.
Thank you!
great pair of strato ... the Lincoln strat sounds awesome very punchy and hot pickups... also nice technik... cheers
Thanks for watching, cheers!
I like the demo of the Lincoln Brewster guitar because it sounds a little bit more rounded in the top end.
The DiMarzios in the Lincoln Brewster definitely roll off some high end in a nice way!
amazing video bro, you got the tone and the licks! What amplifier equipment and pedals did you use?
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! All the tones came from the Line 6 Pod Go plugged straight into the computer.
@@brett_mcreynolds What is the amp model you are using?
@@diegopaezcontreras8364 I was using the Brit Plexi Bright amp model with a Teemah (Timmy pedal model) overdrive in front for the higher gain sounds.
@@brett_mcreynolds sounds great, I'll try to get a similar sound, I have the Hx Stomp
Bro would you be able to share you POD GO tones for your Lincoln songs?
awesome bro!!!!
Thank you!
Incredible playing and tone! congratulations
Is this guitar easy to play......it looks easy to fret!!!!
It's one of my easiest playing guitars!
@@brett_mcreynolds Thank you for that info!!!.....I like guitars to set up with super low action.......It looks like you have that done here if I'm correct.
What is the main effect at 1:50? I like that tone.
That was using the boost circuit in the guitar. It has both a clean boost and mid-boost. On that tone, I had the clean boost engaged with about half the mid boost dialed in
Mahogany body and roasted maple neck? Sounds great--and great playing!
It's roasted ash for the body. Thanks for the kind words!
I definitely see the Guthrie influence here
Fender man Approved!!!
