I remember reading in one of U2's books (possibly B. P. Fallon's "Faraway So Close", not really sure) that Sinead came to the studio with candles and a doll and recorded the song with lit candles and no lights...

I remember them visiting the radio station WRVU back when this song first came out and the college stations were the only ones playing this. WRVU was Vanderbilt University's radio station and they played it in studio acoustically.. I don't think this is it though, from what I remember it was a lot rougher than this. I did just see Everclear two years or so ago in Gulf Shores, Alabama at a big festival they have there called Shrimpfest. They kicked ass.... he came out and said we want to play some of our new stuff for the real fans. Then he said no, I'm just fucking with you, we're going to play for an hour and a half and you'll know the words to every song. He was right! Killer concert even though he's 50 something.

I remember back in 95 or 96 I got the Heartspark Dollar sign single and I think it had this version on it also, along with a few more tracks. I could be totally wrong but I know for sure it wasn't the sparkle and fade version of heroin girl.
