Awesome! I love this! Question: what does >12< mean?
It's a harmonic. It's a fairly simple technique, if a little tricky at first. Basically you you very lightly rest your finger on a string - barely exerting any pressure, like you are muting the string - at the 5th, 7th, or 12th fret (12th fret is the easiest). You want your finger directly over the fret, not next to it like you would if you were playing the note normally. Now you pluck the string and you should be able to hear a quiet harmonic. To make it louder you have to pluck and lift your finger off the string at almost the exact same moment (you want to lift off about half an instant after plucking). It takes a while to get tbe timing right but once you figure it out its a super cool technique to use. I'd recommend looking up a video about how to do it I'm terrible at explaining guitar stuff
