Searching for Aboriginal rock art 29 12 2023
มุมมอง 436 หลายเดือนก่อน
I spent two whole days searching for Indigenous artwork around the Asgard swamp in Blackheath. After thinking that I'd never find them. They suddenly appeared on a huge rock wall. I found three red ochre hand-prints. There could be more to discover in this area. I might just take another look around again in the future. What else is waiting to be discovered.
Emu Cave
มุมมอง 526 หลายเดือนก่อน
I read about a cave along the Bells line of road, that was covered with Emu foot carvings. After an extensive online search, I eventually found the area where the cave is located. We parked our car and walked up to take a look at this special Indigenous artwork.

Part 3 of my search for Indigenous art sites in the Blue Mountains. Firstly, we visit the Indigenous artwork and grinding groove site on King Tablelands, Wentworth Falls. The grinding grooves there are the best grooves of its kind. They are so well defined. Then, we check out a Kangaroo carving. This is one of the biggest Kangaroo carvings i've found. After that, we venture to see some indigeno...

Part 2 of my search for Indigenous artwork within the Blue Mountains. First, I hike down to Martins Pond campsite to see a Scar tree. I first noticed this tree in 2017. Its the best example of its kinds that I've seen so far. Then, it's off to Ticehurst Park in Faulconbridge to view some Emu carvings, grinding grooves and Mundoes (Foot carvings). Let's Go, and take a look.

@@specialized29er86 There is a part 1 to this story. This video is when we found the cave.
Looking forward to it.
Genuine bush beauty but i couldnt see why you would want to spend weeks living in the bush there !!!👍😏❤️
That's amazing, right under everyone's noses too, good work, appreciate the info.
Good job, liked your video. Beautiful valley & scenery too.
@stephenmansueto7668 Thank you. I will be back down there very soon. Because I have another story to tell, which has nothing to do with the treatment works.
Very cool. Lonely place to pass away though.
It's a very beautiful area though.
i why he would leave his shoes ?
first here.
Hurry up stets
ooow, can't wait.
she walked a long way into the bush to get away from ppl.
Found her! it's amazing how mother nature can change the environment even within our life times, due to erosion, weathering and growth of the surrounds. She probably had a mental breakdown and decided to live with no human contact, as it let her down so often....so sad. Well done, I found this very interesting Danny.👍
I got lucky and met the owner of the property, and she knew the whereabouts of the cave. Really sad story.
Interesting spot to hide out. Lonely place to pass.
I'd pick a better and larger cave to live in.
If you go over the other side of the highway, around Hepburn Road / Moore lane, at the highest point in the scrub, there is another one of these. Its bone dry and easy to crawl through. Have a search for it, last time I was there was in the 80s.
Thanks for the info. I knew there was one there. Just been doing other stories first.
Really interesting
pity about the camera, i can't imagine a woman would walk too far from the road to live.
Amazing!
The lizard could be a Goanna maybe?
I did think Goanna, just didn't say it.
Well done Danny from the angry fisherman👌
Thanks Leon. Woof Woof, Woof!
Theyre native tomatoes, sometimes called kangaroo apples
Thanks for th info, are they edibe?
the south katoomba treatment plant was shut in the late 90's or early 2000's. I used to work down there occasionally from the early 80's to mid 90's when i left the waterboard.
Thanks for the info Micheal.
this might be my favourite explore video.
I've been into the mine a few times, and it's always a great hike down there. Also, the view into the Grose Valley is Superb.
