It will be great if you can get the Rolls driving good enough to be a daily driver.
That’s the plan. I’m slowly chipping away at it
hi im new to the channel i live in south MO i own a 1970 Cadillac Miller Meteor volunteer Ambulance so hope one day i can drive up with you to hearsecon one year.
That’d be cool! I try to go every year.
Looking into hearses, definitely looking at the 94-96 Fleetwood. One thing you never mentioned is the Northstar V8 that came in the 94+ Deville, do you have anything to say about them in the context of hearses?
Stay away from the Northstar engines. They were garbage from 97-2005. Tons of cooling system issues.
@@homeofchromeYup lol, just wanted to hear it from the hearse guy himself!
What are your thoughts on a 2006 Lincoln Majestic S&S Coach with 90,000 miles?
Those are solid cars. S&S makes a fine coach. Average mileage for a car that age given its purpose. Solid drive train. One thing to look out for is cracks in the intake manifold. They’re plastic. But you’ll know when it’s bad because it won’t hardly run.
@@homeofchrome Do all S&S coaches have plastic intake manifolds? Are they expensive to replace with metal ones?
@adamgenesis4084 that’s standard on most Ford products. I think there is a metal replacement. Not sure on the cost.
@@homeofchrome Good to know! I'm in the market to purchase a 2006-2009 S&S black hearse (Caddy or Lincoln), but I'm in Oklahoma and can't find any source. Ideas?
Check Francisco-Monroe in Tulsa. Join FB hearse groups and FB marketplace
High school parking lot action....
Yes sir! Huge inspiration from a high school parking went into this car.
Oh bummer! That was a nice daily! Bummer about the insurance
Yeah, it friggin hurt but the Rolls-Royce is about ready!
Congrats on getting her started!!
I love this! Great to see it truly come to life!❤
Thank you!
It's alive! maybe a new future daily driver?
Maybe!
Why not let the Car Wizard sort out the Roller?
It’s too much of a project. His bill would far exceed what I’m willing to put into it as well.
When I lost my very first car in a wreck, a 1971 Pontiac Ventura II (the Pontiac version of the Chevy Nova), I was devastated. I understand your pain. The main thing is that you're still walking, talking, and breathing. At least you still have your grandad's truck to remember them by. Take care of it and yourself.
Absolutely! Thank you. Losing that first one is really hard.
Hey bro I was the first one to comment when he video dropped. My comment is gone!?!?
I had an editing issue and I think it reset the video when it reuploaded. What’d you say?
@@homeofchrome well. I said I hated to see the dts like that but was super happy it wasn’t paw paws truck in the background. Just remember it could’ve been worse.
@rodgersrcaviation2785 no doubt brother. We’ve had good times in that old truck, huh?
@@homeofchrome well. I said I hated to see the dts like that but was super happy it wasn’t paw paws truck in the background. Just remember it could’ve been worse.

I’m sorry for your loss Pat. It looked like a great car. I’m not a Caddy guy but I'd daily it. I’m sure you had some colorful words you mumbled to yourself. Rust in peace CTS. I hope you get a new daily soon so Yoù can limit the mileage on the truck.
Thank you. As far as daily’s go, I’ve got options around here.
Insurance varies state to state. In the state of New Mexico, the car is covered under Uninsured Motorist Property Damage Liability. Also, most Insurance carriers will allow a vehicle to be added to their policy up to 30 days from date of purchase, and can often cover a loss under her policy if she was already covered under a different vehicle. I completely agree though, I didn't really look at my own insurance coverage until something happened, I needed it, and I didn't have it. You would be surprised how insignificant the insurance price difference is between the minimums (which are often not enough) and proper coverage that you can rely on, and not have to worry about. Our Uninsured rate in New Mexico is over 20%. That's 1 in 5. It's unsettling Sitting bored at a red light, counting off cars.
Glad to hear you made it safely through, and the car did its job keeping you safe.
Thank you! That’s crazy that 20% are uninsured
OMG...I'm glad you're okay, even if the car isn't. 🤗🤗
I am sorry for your loss . My father in law has a 2006 dts with only 89,000 miles. Hope you can find and get redemption. At least you are ok and survived. Yes you have a lot of sentimental value but it can be replaced
Thank you. It’s a hard one honestly but I’ll come out on top. Take care of that ‘06!
How's it running ?.
Runs pretty well! Still a way to go to be road worthy but it’s close.
@homeofchrome It's truly worth it bro. Keep going. . See u in the road soon.
@@cesartrex1870 thanks!
I have a question for you, how do I convince my parents that a hearse (probably late '90's early '00's) is a good first car?
Well, the 94-96 Cadillacs have the highly reliable and easily repairable LT1. Gas mileage is 18 in town and 22 on the highway. Plus insurance is super cheap. Stay away from the 97-2005 Northstars. They’re garbage. Then basically any year Lincoln with the 4.6 is a good bet.
@@homeofchrome Oh, wow, thank you. Any more Ammo for my fight for a hearse?
@Cassette-Cryptid sure thing. Well, a hearse is a hard thing to fight for. It was when I wanted one for my first car. Just be patient.
@@homeofchrome makes sense. I think one of my local funeral homes is getting ready to sell one of theirs in a year or two, so that might be a place to start
@Cassette-Cryptid good place to start
Ya can tell it's a 2 dollar paint job, Just for the fact ya didn't wet down the floor to keep dust & dirt from being kicked up when walking around it painting.
Well it was done in a garage with adult beverages. But even so, little to no dust since the floor was swept and washed prior to painting.
The Nova looks great! Looks like it never happened . Outstanding job on the bodywork.
Thank you!
Rock on Pat
Thanks Rich!
When do I get a ride?
😂😂 You know where I live.
Just did the Hot Rod Power tour with my 1977 Miller Meteor. 1673 miles. Average 11 MPG. Lol
That’s awesome! I averaged 11.7 going out to Denver a few weeks ago.
I want a 1972 decked out rims and stuff
No reason not too!
Sick. Can’t help but notice with all these up close face shots that you kinda got a pretti mouf😂😂😂😂
Just for you, big boy! 😂
On the 57, at least take care of the body rust before it eats that ol gal alive. Is she a four door? Wasn’t sure if I saw it right. Get the rust under control no then do what you want to her was. I'll be honest. I am no your baby fan of slotted mags. Heav enly is your baby and my opinion means squat. Sorry Pat. That sounded harsher than the sentiment I was trying to get across. A wise man says when you dig yourself a hole stop and climb out.😊
Yep. It’s four door hard top.
What happened to the hot rod hearse you were building?
It’s still around. I’m Having to focus on already built cars to get them running before I can give my full attention tonitr
@@homeofchrome Okay,sounds like a good plan.
Glad you made it and good talking to you at Hearsecon.
Thank you! I enjoyed meeting you!
The gorgeous ones are always crazy! So glad you had a good trip and made it home safe and sound.
We're all glad you made it there & back safely!
It was a hoot
If you wanna keep your engine to last under extreme heat.... Use Amsoil. 👍 Do your research before you forget about this warning.
Black rims with body color moonies
As for wheels what about chrome steelies and then paint the beauty trim rings purple to match
That’s not a bad idea
Heavenly is old but has charm and character all things considered it could have been worse.
Definitely could have been worse!
Just to be crazy get some purple anodized wire wheels.
Hmmm……I do like wires.
The old girl just has some aches and pains that go with old age. She was just reminding you she needs some small things that need seen to. I personally think a set of cragars would look good on Heavenly.
I have been thinking about some Cragars
Hello Sir! Fantastic presentation! I REALLY wish home of Chrome was around in 1996 when I bought my first coach. You could have warned me before I wasted BIG money on a 1980 Oldsmobile with a (ridiculously underpowered) 307 in it... Nightmare, it died and was resurrected 4 times and finally blew a rod or two that's what did it in! I should have picked up the all original 1972 Caddy with gold brocade interior out of some dudes barn for $800. there wasnt a lot wrong with it as I remember, except the guy said it was haunted and would start itself every morning at around 3AM lol. Oh well, live and learn. My wife had a 88 Caprice ex first call wagon and a 72 Crown Superior named Hector that we actually ended up selling to a guy in the Denver group. Not sure where it is these days, I hope it's still on the road. Zack hasnt seen the owner in a while. But you are right about the Denver crew, super nice bunch of folks. Also I'm a firm believer in life after Funeral Directing. It's been 24 years since I left the prep room and I dont regret it at all. I wish you all the best in your new role brother! Cheers!
Thank you! I had an 86 Buick with the 307. It was something else!
Congrats Pat!
It was good seeing you again & seeing Heavenly in person!
Nice!
Thank you for sharing. Glad you and heavenly both made it home.
Congratulations.
Thanks for the great video!!!
Thanks for sharing! It was cool to see and experience hearsecon with you.
Great stuff guys. I'd love to see a supercharged Cadillac 500 engine in one of those hearses.... 🙂
Me too!
Have you ever seen the hearse they customized on Phantom Works on the Motor Trend channel? That thing was a scary beast. A 72 Caddy. The show looked cool. I like the restored and customized ones. Thankfully, in most towns, the hearse/ambulance combo is à thing of the past. Don’t know how I’d feel about that. Do you ever get to shows in Michigan? Kari the mortician, who has a YT channel, would love to see Heavenly. Great video Pat! Sorry about the comment length. Don’t be a stranger my dude.😊
I really want to get to the Michigan shows. They look awesome! I did see the Phantom Works one. It is cool
Could you please explain to me where the fuel filter is
So these cars have a fuel filter actually in the fuel pump. They’re hard to come by anymore. I’d suggest removing it and installing a Wix 33003 in the line before it.
Just bought a 1979 nova with 24000 original miles. Time capsule! Inline 6 a/c car.
Oh wow! Congratulations!
I'm a bit behind on my YT vids. 😢 Can't wait to see her in person!!
I had a 76 nova and that was the best $300 I ever spent. Words cannot express just how much I missed that car.
I can understand that! I miss most of the ones I’ve sold.
