This ain’t even my sled lol now I’m on a 2011 crossfire 600 with air ride

We don’t run shear pins because they break to easy we just run a grade 5 bolt it shears if it needs to the mower was sized that day and broke the grade 5 bolt

Yea she was lucky I talked with the owner of the truck he had insurance cover the damage to the bed and door

He didn’t do too much I talked with the guy who owns it he said he is gonna get it looked at to get an estimate probably either a bed or rear door and a tire and wheels is all he would need a bed costs upwards of 5k though

@@dennissnyder9027 yeah they can pull lots of weight and that sled wasn’t heavy enough for the gambler

The truck is there for a reason it holds a laser measure up high so they can read the distance of the puller that sled doesn’t weigh nearly what it should for that puller

@@tylerneff thank you for letting me know that, you think maybe now they'll figure out something different to hold the Lazer so that doesn't happen to someone else's truck.

@@trickydale9895 well no one has ever hit the truck they’ve always had the truck there for many years now and like I said that puller can pull way more weight than that sled actually weighs they usually add weight to the sled to make it heavier but it takes a half hour just to add weight

He could of kept going sorry you don’t see the first half of the pull but that sled doesn’t weigh nearly what it should for gambler to be pulling It

Can’t do a short and see the puller the whole time it was recorded horizontally so yt shorts doesn’t want to flip the video

So they pickup holds a laser measure so they can record the distance of the puller and none of the other pullers have ever out ran the track they use the laser for measuring distance to see who went the furthest

A while ago at the steam show in September this was like 4-5 years ago the glass in the sled broke I remember seeing the sled without the windshield but yeah that’s a scary ride for sure imagine the pro modified going into the woods If I was the self operator I would of crapped my pants

@@tylerneff fortunately, the Driver Mark, he's got some time underneath his belt running that sort of tractor. He actually graduated up to Grand Nationals. It was explained to me this morning (I've been out of the loop for a number of years) that that particular tractor, Gambler, was just too much for that poor little sled. I can guarantee that the sled driver was doing everything in his professional capacity to try and slow that tractor down. But it was not slowing down until Mark made it so. And he did the right thing by shutting it down when he realized that, for once, the sleds' not stopping him. No one else was at that end of the track that didn't move in time, possibly double time. 'Cept for the ass-end of that truck. Adam walks away the clear winner here. He has photographic evidence of what a bad ass story that dent in his truck provides. Fortunately, the only injury visible in the video is to the box of that truck and possibly the back lower-end of Adams' BVD's. I hope Mark didn't do too much to his tractor.

@@joeyvanostrand3655 so gambler is a pro modified that is meant to pull more weight it takes about a half hour to put more weight in the box they use to pull pot modified but they stopped it because it took too much time the sled weighed 250,000 lbs at the end of the track there is no more the operator could of done to stop the modified it was just moving too fast

Yes it could of been very bad but luckily she’s okay everyone walked away

Yeah it’s crazy that they do that and keep that old machine running but great pulls and a great time

Yeah when gambler hit the dodge that could of been very bad gladly no one was hurt

Yes it’s an old fashioned tractor like a steam engine there are trains like that

@@tylerneff Frick 9 1/2 x 10, from 1915. Its about 65 horsepower, and weighs around 12 tons. I know that engine well, I'm one of the caretakers keeping it going. It is owned by the club that put on the show. There were actually issues with the governor in this pull, I had to adjust it afterwards. It was hunting instead of pulling steady.

That pin specifically is just a bolt it’s been through a lot the shear pin is at the other end but good observation

Sheer pins are usually on yokes that are closest to the implement. That's where the most stress occurs hence the sheer pin. People use low grade bolts too they do the job. Also you can have multiple sheer pins in your set up like multiple safeties.
