Hii first of all thanks for the comments!! I see! I have a question for you!! My Moroccan friend recommended a taxi app and I’ve been using it during my trip. On the very last day when I was gonna get to the airport, so many taxi drivers came and prevented me from using the taxi I asked from the app! I end up using the normal taxi bc I was in rush. After that I checked on google and found out that the app wasn’t an official. Is it also haram that the price is cheaper than normal taxi?? 💭💭 Yeah I get it!!! And actually I wasn’t called “Ni Hao” in Morocco but was called “Konnichiwa”, which means hello in Japanese!!! I brought up this bc I had many experiences in European countries! It’s totally fine that they call me “Ni Hao” since they can’t distinguish East Asian! 😊 I feel uncomfortable when some people say “Ni Hao” intentionally to insult Asians. It might be different to see the differences for you but I can recognize when they just wanna say hi to me and when they wanna insult 💭💭

​@@thesevenseas773 there is some taxi apps, but they're not popular among locals, bc the price is similar with normal taxies, you were probably overcharged by scammers, thats why the price in the app seems cheaper. normal taxi use meter counters, they charge 7 moroccan dirhams per km, its about 0.70 usd/km in merakech a ride from the airport to the city center which is 7km long will cost you around 6 usd do your calculations📲 almost all normal taxies charge the same price in all cities in morocco all scammers are haram, and if they were to be cought by the police, they'll be jailed they only scam tourists bc tourists dont know these taxies charge per meters, so the drivers overcharge them i watched some other youtube travel vlogers in merakech, and all of them got overcharged, some of them payed 30 dollars for a 6 dollar ride, its terrible 😢 i'am algerian we share almost the same culture and language with our moroccan neighbours algeria morocco tunisia, we all came from the same people (amazigh people) or berber seeing scammers giving a bad image of the north african region makes me so upset 😢 i hope the moroccan authorities will crackdown on them soon. tunisia recives large numbers of international tourists same as morocco, but in tunisia there's no such scammers, the goverment is very strict there 👍 algeria (my country) is starting to open up for international tourists in recent years, also scammers dont exist here 👍 egypt is the worst when it comes to scammers👎, their culture is more closer to the middle east, so we dont consider them north africans 😸 anyway 😝i hope i gave you some insight about the region you're welcome anytime, we love japanese people, they're very open minded and they have really good manners that we should learn from 🙏
