Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver-Museum of Appalachia's Tennessee Fall Homecoming 2004
มุมมอง 23K10 ปีที่แล้ว
Here's one more great set by Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver from the main stage of the 2004 Tennessee Fall Homecoming at the Museum of Appalachia in Norris, TN. Out of all the different performances I have that they've done at the homecoming, this is probably the most hard-driving out of all of them. So I guess you can say I've saved the best for last! Enjoy! Video courtesy of Rob-Mar Productions i...

Here's a set performed by one of the best traditional bands in bluegrass music on the main stage of the 2003 Tennessee Fall Homecoming at the Museum of Appalachia in Norris, TN. Fun fact: I along with my dad and grandparents were in the audience for this very show! I was 8 years old at the time. These guys kicked butt from start to finish! Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver-Museum of Appalachia's Tennessee Fall Homecoming 2001

If you haven't figured out by now, my favorite band of all time is Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver which is why I'm uploading yet another set of their music from the main stage of the 2001 Tennessee Fall Homecoming at the Museum of Appalachia in Norris, TN. If you're a real hardcore bluegrass fan like me, you might recognize the fiddler who later went on to join one of the hottest bands in bluegrass...
Bob Douglas-Museum of Appalachia's Tennessee Fall Homecoming 1997

Here's a great, but brief performance from legendary old time fiddler, Bob Douglas on the main stage of the 1997 Tennessee Fall Homecoming at the Museum of Appalachia in Norris, TN. At the time of this performance he was around 97 years old. He would later make his Grand Ole Opry debut at the age of 101! I'm not sure what the first tune is, but the second one is Monday Morning Blues. I'm specif...

Here's another incredibly strong set by DL&Q on the main stage at the 1996 Tennessee Fall Homecoming at the Museum of Appalachia in Norris, TN. This particular configuration of Doyle's band never made any studio recordings, which in my opinion is highly unfortunate, but thank god we have this live video recording of them. Video courtesy of Rob-Mar Productions in Antioch, TN. MUSICIANS: Doyle La...

The Larkin Family-Museum of Appalachia's Tennessee Fall Homecoming 1998

Another fine set performed on the main stage of the 1998 Tennessee Fall Homecoming at the Museum of Appalachia in Norris, TN. Not sure if any of the family are still involved in bluegrass, but I do know that Tina and Shaunna broke away from the family band in the early '2000s and had their own country duo. They did a great collaboration with Dolly Parton on one of their albums. Not sure if that...

Watch them work together on an in the mic’s ! Smooth I say! Smooth as silk and satin! Sadly the banjo player is gone now! Fine person he was!
Doyle would say you don't practice to get it right. You practice to where you cant get it wrong
No doubt the best Quicksilver band of all time.

Shoot, guitar goin back to the founder Bill Monroe,Dobro guitar too as far back as the 40s.
Great to hear young people playing the old music.
Well the gentlmen were some of the best , but im a bit predjudice i guess . . 🤓
You rascal! Stevie G. You “wuz one of ‘em”. You, Donny, and Troy held down those tight Gents vocals! It was a grand time! ❤
God bless your group doyle
Barry Scott possibly top five best bluegrass lead singers ever.
I'd love to have heard Donny in person. Clear, clean, strong vocals. This is one of my favorite performances of DLQS!
Find some Tennessee Gentlemen TH-cam videos with Donny. There are several posted. He passed away at 60 in 2016. We miss that rascal!
@@bluegrasshack3810 I've listened to everything I can find. He was so smooth.
@@michaelmullins1290 Though Donny has passed on, he would love knowing that you like his work. Tennessee Gentlemen have their brown album here, the Just Us, the Sunday Morning, and the Hey Mr. Train album. There are a few festivals shows, too. I wish there were more for you. (Posted 10/25/2022)
@@bluegrasshack3810 I sing and play in a local gospel group in my area. I do what I can for the Lord. Our group is the New Harvest Brothers, from Clintwood, Va. I do know quality when I hear it. I always go back to the Tennessee Fall homecoming video. It's a favorite.
@@michaelmullins1290 That’s great about the group. Keep going! Donny and Steve were friends when they were young kids. They began to take their sound more seriously as they got older. Over time, the Tennessee Gentlemen formed consisting of local Memphians. There were a number of members through 40 or so years, with the men who cut these albums being the longest-lasting. They had fun and traveled over 100,000 miles annually throughout the South and Southwest. (NOTE: Right here is what I thought I lost earlier! Whew!)
I was there. I was thinking. Doyle isn't gonna speak today. Just burning it up. Jamie is a character for sure.
Swwey marry
Donny loved playing with DL&Q. Thanks for posting this! (6/19/2021)
Young Hunter Berry. I was there the year people kept saying, let Hunter play one. Doyle did. Hunter went to every stage that day with Doyle. The rest is history.
Long time ago 4sure
Terry Baucom is like a machine. GREAT. Gospel quartet unbelievable.
This is my favorite line up of Doyle's Band.

I agree. DLQ is my all time favorite, as well. None better
The banjo player looks cool in a "John Dillinger" hat.
Tennessee gentlemen ..memphis Tennessee best..donny catron.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 That would tickle ol’ Donny and Troy! Steve is often here and he is a big part of that amazing sound. They often switched parts! It drove other singers crazy to figure out what they were doing! Funny stuff!
Nobody beats Donny catron.at singing..tenn.gents..memphis.rj
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hey loyl ....it skeeter. ..what up..long time no see
RIP Donny
We all miss that guy! (Posted 10/25/2022)
Only thing that gets better than the Stanley style is the double Stanley style!
Amen haha
Amen!
Ralph 11 sounds a lot like Uncle Carter
I was there too. Great Show!!!
i was there that day, good show.
This is one of my favorite configurations of DL&Q.
Ditto. I followed them all over. When Jamie and Barry left I lost most drive and interest.
Excellent!
Thank You SO much Sweet Braeden Paul for putting this together and sharing it with ME! SO Incredibly Grateful I am Sweetie! Cute!
