I've played 2 games against Seppys since the points and I've gotta say I fear them more than any other faction now.

I was one of the alpha testers. More specifically, I actually flew against a list that ran a big ship with Kraken and seven vultures droids who were all using networked calculations instead of independent calculations. They also all had energy charges. I was on the back foot the whole time and barely managed to tie. Whenever I was in close one would reload an energy shell charge and another would take a calculate. It snowballed at the end, but chewing through the first few was extremely rough and took several turns. All this to say that, if I recall correctly, and y'all are in the Michigan general area, consider hopping just across the border into Indiana if you want to play in person. We're hosting an event using the XWA points in South Bend on Sept. 28.

Im excited for a Maul leader deck! Any cards from the first two sets that work well with Maul leader? I want to put one together fast but never have enough time to do my own research 😂

As a newer player to the game I appreciate the insights this provides. Still trying to learn the leaders and play counter to them as well as substitute high price cards as we missed out in any SOR outside of a starter.

If you have Echo in play and your opponent plays Scanning Officer, does the effect from Echo activate during the opponents turn as well? Thus making them all targets for SO?

great episode but playing more than 50 cards is insane

Definitely enjoying this deck. I have my own variant with more mod range units, but its overall such a strong shell.

I've been having a lot of fun with this deck. Instead of the no good to me dead I've been using asteroid sancturary to get the shield token as most of the highest buffed units are 3 resources or less. Turn 5 is my favourite too, advanced tie for 2 experience, tarkin effect for another experience then deploy and attack with tarkin for the 4th experience in one turn

The premier budget deck for set 2, though I feel it's not nearly as good as budget sabine mono red was in set 1, that thing could hold its own, this though great, can struggle quite a bit in some match ups.

I agree. That is why I wanted the segment cause I think it inspires people to think through turns and use so much more. Smuggle made it easier for newer players to get into and more of a mind game for legacy players.

cards like scanning officer and DJ make this entire mind game thing kinda cool. Ideally you dont want to exhaust a card with smuggle that you are going to play later in the turn as it can pay for itself. So its all super interesting. I cant wait to see some 4d chess moments in tournaments.

Just very sad to witness the community experiencing a slow decay like this, that feels like it has been implemented by AMG so that it descends to a point where the noise level is so low that dropping it minimalises brand damge for them. They only announced the 'return' of worlds to silence the negative press...and what have we heard since? I hope you guys continue...been a good bunch :)

I feel if you cannot paint it then its not something AMG are interested in... huge self sustaining fan base has kept X-Wing alive through covid and to now. If they aren't interested (demonstrated by actions not words) then they should sell the licence etc to someone who cares and is interested in developing the game for both competitive and thematic play. Failure for regular (max 6 months) points changes to mix the meta up and a heavy bias to prebuild cards takes all the competitive squad build side that was so much of 1.0 and early 2.0 away. Now it's stale by being somewhat predictable and lacking the need for intellectual investment in squad building; good players can still be good but some ships and even factions are near unplayable competitively. The card theme packs give us new pilots and one store session to play the scenario but then after a minor shift in pilots (new ones are better typically) it settles back into a tweaked meta. Where is Epic? Where are asymmetrical scenarios like other miniature games have? It should return to easy to get into but requires an investment to master, with significant refreshes to see new pilots and ships a few times a year on top of this.

amg is killing the game to focus on shatterpoint and legion and the first thing it has done was not release the latest content in Spanish. Yes, I am from Spain, we play x-wing but we are aware that we will have to play stagnant or abandon the game we We love it because now it's run by a fucking shitty company.

if some people were willing to pay 80 + 60 + 20 + 15 + 10 or whatever it was for all of worlds experience. thats almost 200 a person by 400 people. thats 80,000 to run an all inclusive event for 400 people and you cant figure out how to turn a profit?

Vader’s Vengeance here, catching up on a missed episode. I stopped when Alex shared his experiences of meeting listeners at Worlds. Guys, please don’t underestimate what you give us. I tune in for a couple reasons: 1. You are down-to-earth, relatable, and authentic. 2. Your knowledge of the game. 3. The podcasts don’t sound clinical or sterile. The camaraderie makes it obvious that you enjoy each other, which makes it easier and more enjoyable to listen / watch. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. It certainly is much appreciated.
