United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 25 พ.ย. 2023
Passionate about traveling, my goal is to inspire others to not only travel to bucket list destinations, but explore amazing places close by.
Currently living in Central Texas, my goal is see and discover as much as possible. I love to discover and support small business.
I encourage those who want to travel, but don’t know where to start, to visit towns nearby and see what amazing things you can find close to home.

We went swimming in October?!? Lake Georgetown, Texas Vlog #texas #texashillcountry
We wanted to test the waters and try swimming in October at Lake Georgetown in Texas. Each summer in Texas, the summer lingers until early Fall into late October. In Georgetown, Texas, summer temperatures often linger well into the early fall, making it feel as though the season stretches into late October. We were curious if the lake was still good enough to swim, so we Georgetown is located just north of Austin, and the warmth of the Texas sun doesn't dissipate quickly. Temperatures in September and October can still reach into the 80s and sometimes even the low 90s, offering residents and visitors a prolonged opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities that typically belong to the summer months.
One of the best ways to savor this extended summer season is by visiting Lake Georgetown. This scenic reservoir, nestled in the Texas Hill Country, provides an escape from the hustle of city life and is a perfect spot to cool off. Even though fall is officially in full swing, the water at Lake Georgetown remains inviting, and outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy activities such as boating, kayaking, and fishing. The lake’s proximity to Austin (just 26 miles north) makes it a popular destination for those looking to enjoy a natural escape without traveling far.
Lake Georgetown offers plenty of hiking opportunities as well. The San Gabriel River Trail is a favorite among visitors. Stretching for miles, it offers breathtaking views of the lake and the surrounding limestone bluffs. This trail is particularly enjoyable in the fall when the trees start to change color, adding a touch of autumn to the summer-like weather.
Central Texas is home to numerous lakes, making it a paradise for water lovers. While Lake Travis and Lake Austin are more well-known, Lake Georgetown provides a quieter and less crowded alternative. Many visitors to Georgetown also venture to nearby lakes like Lake Buchanan and Inks Lake, both located to the northwest, for a weekend of exploration. Whether you're looking for a calm paddle or some thrilling watersports, the lakes in this region have something for everyone.
Even in early fall, the Texas sun is strong, and the wide-open skies mean you'll want to pack sunscreen, hats, and plenty of water. The warmth can surprise those unfamiliar with Texas’ extended summer, making Lake Georgetown a haven for sunbathers and those who love spending time on the water. With the mild autumn breeze starting to mix with summer’s heat, it’s the perfect environment for enjoying a day out on the lake with friends or family.
In addition to water activities, there are several well-maintained campgrounds around Lake Georgetown. Spending a weekend camping by the lake allows you to experience the best of both worlds-warm afternoons by the water and cooler evenings under the stars. The nearby Cedar Breaks Park is a particularly popular camping spot, offering picturesque views and easy access to the lake.
For TH-camrs and content creators focusing on outdoor recreation, Lake Georgetown is a great subject for fall content. Incorporating keywords such as Texas lakes, Lake Georgetown fall activities, central Texas summer, Austin outdoor adventures, Texas Hill Country lakes, fall camping in Texas, and water sports in central Texas can help optimize videos for the platform. Topics like best fall hikes in Texas, Texas lake getaways, kayaking in Georgetown, and fishing at Lake Georgetown are also great ways to attract outdoor enthusiasts looking for their next adventure.
Even though the calendar may say fall, Lake Georgetown keeps the summer spirit alive, providing visitors with a perfect blend of warm weather, outdoor activities, and scenic beauty.

We stayed there for our 19th Anniversary in 1993 and it was awesome! ❤
@@TheTravelingDiva wow! Very cool! I’ve only visited but never checked into a room. Do you think it’s haunted??
May I know who organised the scuba diving and how much does it cost?
@@a.danisvictor9371 There’s actually many businesses that will take you to the museum. To scuba dive I’ve used Aquaworld. If you’d like to go on a catamaran cruise with snorkeling to the museum and a trip to Isla Mujeres, I’ve used Cancun Adventures. You’d have to check their website for updated prices. 😁
@homonica visita aqui
It's absolutely worth a visit
Where I live!!❤
Nice! What's your favorite trail there?
Probably rock garden
@@Bombcityhubby nice! I’ll check that one out next time I go.
It is a spotted trunkfish
Interesting! I was thinking it may be a cowfish...
You need to see Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexixo. They're awesome!
@@debbiejohnson7199 I would love to visit Carlsbad Caverns! How does it compare to Natural Bridge Caverns?
great vid, nicely edited, however background music with you voice was too loud. Couldn't hear your voice very well. St John, one of the best Islands in the Caribbean IMO
@@RHILTONJR100 Thank you. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I noticed that too about the audio. ☹️ thanks for watching
Love these kind of spots
Love the fish and turtle!!! Beautiful scenery! Would love to go there some day! ❤
Thank you! Going in the off season is the best time to enjoy the beaches to yourself.
Can’t afford it.
You'd be surprised! We went in September during the slow season.
That cute fish!!!!!! Leopard fish???😂

@@Bonana_Man I agree! I love them!
I was suppose to go there for free but wasn't able to! So it wasn't worth it?
@@HaydenLovie I think it’s worth going to if you know what to expect. It’s a beautiful beach, but it can get crowded and not even the beach chairs are free. We did a catamaran tour and they dropped us off for 2 hours and that was PLENTY of time
Another species with hugely underestimated intelligence...
@@anim8torfiddler871 agreed. Have you ever seen a manta ray or whale shark?
@@WhereIsLauraTraveling I had a friend, whose father was a naval Architect, who built award-winning catamaran designs. The guy at 21 had a commercial captain's license for power boats and sailboats. In 1979, he invited me and my brother to sail with him on a rented 40' sailboat around the Chesapeake Bay for a couple of weeks. About the fourth day, we were out of sight of land, calm seas, light breeze keeping the boat moving, and a manta with about an 8-10 foot "wing" span started pacing us. Stayed with us for a couple of hours, and about seven others that I could see on that side joined us. They just languidly kept their fins moving enough to keep up. Magic. I have never seen a whale shark except in tv broadcasts or youtube videos.
@@anim8torfiddler871 wow, what a great story
What a waste of time and money.

If we had flashlights we would have tried to guide them better, but there were so many and so much light from the hotels. It was chaotic. But yes, I agree that they need to learn.
