This channel is mainly all about DIY remodels/projects on our mobile home, rentals, and office. We do a LOT of furniture and thrift flips! We have a store here in town as well as a tax office. We also make soap, candles and laundry detergent to sell in our store. We also laugh.... a LOT! We just hope you are inspired, encouraged, or even just humored by these glimpses into our life. The road isn't always easy but there is always beauty and joy in each and every day... sometimes you gotta look reallly hard to find it but it's there. We also have a tax/finance channel that we are about to launch to help small businesses and content creators navigate their books and finances here: th-cam.com/channels/Rk0NePGe63-808dSpL5pAQ.html
Simple Modern Farmhouse Kitchen Makeover!
I drove 600 miles to Michigan to do a simple modern farmhouse kitchen makeover on my sisters outdated kitchen. While it was a lot of hard work, it was worth every bit of it to spend time with my big sis and give her the gift of a beautiful new kitchen!

My husband worked in a machine shop for a decade and was covered in transmission fluid and oil daily. I used my homemade detergent, very similar to yours, and a cup of ammonia in his work clothes. They came out without any scent of oil or fluids or any stains on his clothes everytime. Never failed. Just dont inhale the ammonia. Tell your mom to stop using Tide! Ammonia is like 2 dollars a bottle.
Thanks for tip!! 🥰
The spray gun looks like it needed to be cleaned. I have it and it sprays so amazing. Looks great
We were having to clean it multiple times a use! Is there a certain type of paint you had to use? Should we have thinned it down some?
My bestie died from cancer n i miss her so much
I’m so sorry to hear that! I can’t even imagine! 💔
Says in the instructions not to use pavers.
That’s right!!! You do whatever to your kitchen and it looks beautiful!!
Thank you! 🤗
Thank you. Works perfect.
Ma'am in regards to your dads greasy work clothes and laundry stuff Tell your mom to use regular coke cola for the greasy clothes, carnival workers use this to remove tar from their clothes and it works! Also awesome works really well Tell your mom to use a 2liter size Donna Lane Kingman Az
You did so good!!! And you didn’t tell me you were YT famous!
Can you send me the recipe
I use 2 or 3 full cups of dry or liquid detergent filling my laundry machine full. One scoop is for kids games, all due respect.
I would think baking soda would help with doing away with body oders.
my hubby and I are wanting to move to Tennessee (prefer northeast to Murfreesboro) . What city would you recommend if we want more rural life but not too far away from Murfreesboro?
I love this❤. Love both you ladies, miss y'all ❤️
We love and miss you too!! 🥰🥰🥰
I use almost all of the same ingredients except the laundry bar of soap instead of that I use Down liquid dish washing detergent the one with the duck on it. Many DIY home laundry detergent recipes are more or less the same. It depends on your washing machine. It depends if you are hand washing your clothing. It depends if someone is allergic to one of the ingredients. It depends on how you want your laundry to smell like. It depends on how much money you can afford to buy the ingredients. BORAX OXICLEAN Laundry baking soda Regular baking soda Kosher salt Dawn dishwashing detergent Zote Fels-Naptha And many other types of soap. It also depends on how dirty and how stained your clothing get. But I think this is a very nice laundry detergent recipe. I did use the exact recipe years ago. Now I use regular store bought Tide OxiClean and regular Tide in my washing machine only with some white vinegar. And I use my Down dishwashing detergent recipe for my hand wash laundry only with some white vinegar. One cup to two cups of Down liquid dishwashing soap the one with the duck. 1/2 cup of OxiClean. 1/2 Borax. 1/2 cup laundry baking soda. 1/2 cup regular baking soda. 1/3 cup kosher salt. 1/3 cup of lavender fabric crystals or lavender fabric beads to give your clothing a good small. 1/3 cup of white vinegar for each load of laundry. A wooly ball with some pure essential oil to substitute your dryer for dryer sheets. I use a glass spray bottle. Some witch hazel. Some pure essential oil like lavender and tea tree oil. Mix it and add it to the glass spray bottle. Shake it when you need to use it on the wooly ball and spray one or three times on to it before placing it in with your clothing to dry. I absolutely love to hang dry my clothes outside even in the winter time as long as it is not raining or snowing. And I hand wash many of my clothing each and every. Saves on energy and it makes my clothing even more cleaner by hand washing. But every family is different and every person is different and it is up you to decide what works. And I absolutely hate any dry laundry detergent because mainly it does not dissolve well in the washing machine I prefer liquid laundry detergent. If I do buy dry laundry detergent from the store I prefer to dissolve it in hot water before using it.
Very nice. Love the color cabinets
All of these ingredients are used in stripping the laundry detergent from your clothing which causes your clothing to lose their colors.😮 Add all of these ingredients together does not do a good job in washing your laundry in my opinion.😮 And I hate any dry laundry detergent because they stick to your clothing as well as to the washing machine.😮 Personally prefer name brand liquid laundry detergent 1 tbsp for small loads and 2 tablespoon for large loads.😍 Some vinegar with some pure essential oil as my fabric softener but not too much because it can cause damage to your machine .😮 A wooly ball with some pure essential oil for my dryer and i am very happy.😍 All of these types of DIY dry laundry detergent have too many unnecessary ingredients and really don't do a good job and cleaning your clothing and making them really small good.😮 I tried these recipes it just does not work for me it also gave my daughter a bad skin irritation.😮 Also many of these ingredients can damage your washing machine by weakening the belt which goes around the barrel causes it to break.😮 So homemade is not always a good idea.😮 This is my opinion.🤔 This might work for some people but will not work for everyone.🤔
Beautifully done!
Thank you 🥰 this dresser was my cousins welcome home present. He moved back here after 20 years in Germany(military) and needed a dresser ❤️
I love how he sticks his hands out to feel the rain. ❤
You made me cry talking about your bestie. How fun this video was and such a great recipe. Will be making this soon!
✨What a fun video! I make my own laundry detergent, too, so I'm always curious how others make theirs. My recipe is similar and also includes Fels-Naptha. I love it! However, I don't have a large blender, so I found another way instead of grating it up that's easier on your hands--especially if you have arthritis. I thought I'd share it, and maybe it could help someone else. 🧼I cut up the bar of soap like you showed, and then I place it in a microwave-safe dish and heat it at 20-30 second increments. This makes the soap chunks expand because of the tiny air pockets in the soap. Depending on your microwave, you shouldn't have to heat it too long. I usually heat one bar for about two and a half to three minutes with stirring to watch out for hot spots. Then, when it's no longer expanding with the heat (don't burn it), take it out of the microwave and allow it to cool. Once it's cool, put all the chunks in a Ziploc bag so you can crush it with your hands. Basically, heating it made the soap brittle, and it will crumble up very nicely for you in the Ziploc bag. Yes, it's kinda like crushing up Ritz crackers for a casserole topping! I usually sit and watch something on TV while I work on crumbling my soap into a powder. It can be relaxing, honestly. 🥣The recipe itself is very simple: I bar Fels-Naptha prepared as above, and 1 Cup each of Baking Soda, Washing Soda, and Borax. I only make laundry detergent in small batches for myself, so I don't make large amounts. I just measure the ingredients into a large mixing bowl and stir with a large mixing spoon since it's a smaller amount than what you made in the video. You could easily double/triple this, of course. 🧺This makes about 4 Cups, and you would use 2 Tbsp in a traditional top loader or 1 Tbsp in an HE machine. I do use scent boosters and oxy clean, but I just add those separately in the amounts I want for that specific load. I like being able to customize what I'm using that way, but putting it all in together works, too. 😷Also, thank you for mentioning that you should be careful when making your laundry detergent and creating large clouds of dust; some videos actually show people just dumping boxes of ingredients--so unnecessary and dangerous! We don't need to be afraid of these ingredients, but we should respect what they are. I have never felt the need to wear a mask, and I don't suggest it. But one should consider whether they would dump a large container of store-bought powdered detergent or another cleaner like that? Of course not! It's simply irresponsible. You should have no more of a dust cloud or mess of any kind than you would making a cake, and the area should be cleaned thoroughly to make sure no cleaning agents are left behind to get into food later if you make your detergent in the kitchen. 🙏💖Anyway, I wanted to offer another way to deal with the soap bars without harming arthritic hands. I've been using my recipe (very similar to this one) for years, and I don't have any issues with dingy clothes or build-up in my machine. Anyone who tries your recipe should be very happy! Thanks again for a fun video! What a blessing to have girlfriends that are like family! God bless y'all!
This is incredible! I’m going to pin this so my single viewers can see a smaller recipe! Thank you for watching and your generous comment! 🥰🥰🥰
This video is absolutely beautiful. I just wanted to wash u make washing powder, and here I am truly grateful for life 🎉
Thank you! We try to find beauty in each and every day 🥰
Excellent work 👍👍👍
Thank you Melvin!
Though it’s good and cheaper to make your own laundry detergent, many don’t understand that the modern HE machines will get broken using them. Towels will start not being absorbent and clothes will be dingy. This is caused be the soap that produces scum in the machine. Unfortunately, machine manufacturers forces us to buy products with their partner companies that make detergent, so it might not be cheaper if you need to buy a new laundry machine sooner?
That’s exactly why I use this recipe and use my blender to mix it. All of the soap dissolved in the water and doesn’t leave that film that would eventually build up and clog the machine. The oxy helps fight that issue too. 🥰
Love your home makeover From:Louisiana
Thanks Brenda 🥰
How is this cheap if it’s like $60. How long does it last
Hey Dora 😊 the recipe says it lasts all year for a family of 4 but I use two 2 tablespoon scoops(for extra scent) for our fam of 3 and it lasts us all year too.
Great to see you girls having fun❣️ I make my own too, mixing in a bag is a game changer👍 I also use 2 TBLSPN... sometimes 3 😊
Thank you for this informative video! Well done! I’m making this today! Thank you and blessings on your new video!

I would paint the ceiling and just add another light in the middle of the other two lights.
My thoughts are that it’s your home. You should decorate it the way you like.
I love your floors
I bought grey paint that looks blue, I ended up loving it so I kept it
I almost kept the blue gray cuz it had a country blue feel to it but I had a gray theme in mind 🥰
For the ceiling, i dont know how cheap it would be but i think tin, shiplap, or doing some kind of decorative paneling would be pretty.
I didn’t think about decorative paneling! 🤔🤔🤔
@@GrayDuckDIYs they have in all different styles, I used some that looks like weathered shiplap in my kitchen as back splash, it is also easy to clean.
Just decorate the way you like....no one lives there but u & your family....no one else's business!!
Thank you Dee! My home is my sanctuary 🥰🥰🥰
Full house tour?
It’s coming! Finishing the master bathroom now. It’s a slow work in progress lol we have two room makeovers and my sons bathroom makeover up :)
What's funny about that??😮
It’s really not cuz he def will have to be corrected but after raising 3 kids and now enjoying 3 grandkids I’ve learned to laugh it off and not be so serious. His mama will def correct him though 🥰

Hi glad to see you back ! I keep waiting to see what you have been making! Really enjoy your makeovers. I am a thrifter & love to re-do things & we have the same taste!😀 Your home is looking beautiful & y'all should be proud of all that hard work! We're getting ready to put up a pool like yours, it's the smaller size (it is just for 2)! I think that's how I originally found you, by searching for pool set ups. Anyways have a great day & looking forward to seeing more 👏👏👏
Than you Beth!! I’m a tax accountant so it’s be super crazy here the past four months 😂😂😂 but we’re getting ready to drop several more videos we’ve been working on. Thank you for sharing our journey with us 🥰🥰🥰
do you by any chance have a pinterest account of your progress so I can follow and actually save pictures for ideas in my mobile makeover?? thank you for sharing with us your amazing journey❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing our journey! 🥰 I’m working on expanding to Pinterest too. Now that tax season is over I’m diving in full force 😂😂😂
My husband had to have the massive tv also 😂 you’ve done a good job making your mobile lovely.
Thank you! And this tv drives me nuts 😂😂😂
God is so so so good your channel is blessing me. One day me and my husband are working towards some of these awesome things
Yes He is!! Thank you Ashunti! We just do one little thing at a time and collect little treasures as we go from thrift stores and yard sales and I absolutely LOVE it! I value my little thrift store finds more than my hobby lobby or other finds cuz they hold precious memories of that day. Cuz in the end it’s not about the price we paid for things it’s about the beauty in the journey you know? My fave piece of art is Diesel’s first painting from pre K lol it’s framed on my wall. 🥰🥰🥰
Reminds me of my little man. I love how much personality children can have
I would put that as a family guest house! I would not want it for a rental. 👍👍
We thought about that at first too! But now we’re buying the other little trailer across the street and making it a vacation rental/guest house. We get lots of fishermen and hunters down here. 🥰
Sweet baby
Thank you Linda! He’s my first grandson and I’m slightly in love with this kid 😂 these grandkids bring a whole new level of love 🥰🥰🥰
That's a cross and bible door. I need to paint mine
I have to paint the outside next cuz it’s rusty 😂😂😂
This was so smart. I can't wait to watch all this unfold. I have skipped around on your videos, and love them all.
It’s coming along slowly but surely! I’m a tax accountant so it’s been a little crazy around here the past few months 😂😂😂
It would be good to have the full view of the video
Ikr! Sorry bout that. It’s from me taking pics and videos vertically with my phone. I didn’t realize I would be starting a TH-cam channel back then 😂 but our kitchen update video has better views
