Need to hear before and after.
I forgot about that. But you can take a look at the videos I’ve made after this you can hear it there if you’re really interested
If u can point me to a specific one ..I have concerns on ticking. Thx @@allenstevens
Check this one out! I do a walk around and u can see my dash as I start the car you can tell the car is cold and hasn’t been ran. th-cam.com/video/MM2GXijMeyw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=cHVb0b7NwZv3y7Y4
@@allenstevens Was looking for the lifter tick ..this sounds normal (?)
My mistake. I thought u meant of the product actually working with no tick. th-cam.com/video/xclYWYCwfLw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=HFAePkqWyKxBPXH5 Here’s a video I made before the additive. You can slightly hear it here. But I definitely recall times where it would sit longer between starts and it was louder than in this video. Anyway take my video with a grain of salt, I’m just some guy on the internet. Do your own research but fwiw I don’t encounter this issue nearly as much anymore.
l love lancer is may favorite car ❤❤😊
Drop the head camera. I want to see where the car is going, not where you're turning your head. You need a steady camera. Vertigo. Otherwise pretty good. Thank you.
Thanks
Put on a pair of deposable rubber gloves before pushing the light back. Trust me, it is day and night difference. The oil from your fingers get on the plastic making it tough to push and hold.
I wish I had known that when I was doing this haha!
As a WXR STI owner, I will admit and say that I love Evos!
I have a black 1997 Acura Integra GSR with RPF1 wheels on too.
Thank you for the nice video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
What tune?
APR
Super 😍
Wow that sound so amazing it sounds like a lion on the street
Allen, what headers are you running? By the way, I have the same starter for my 331. It spins pretty well.
This is my dad’s car just FYI, anyway I do still know a lot about it. This car is running Hooker headers with a supertrapp exhaust!
Bad technique
Whoa bad misfire
It's 2024 and lancers still look dope ............button
Que medida es el rin y las llantas?
would have been a good idea to have proof of the pudding, hear the car without the tick?
Here is a recent video from last spring of my car running. Sorry I didn’t include it in the video, I’m still new to this TH-cam thing. Hindsight’s 20/20 it seems obvious now. th-cam.com/video/MM2GXijMeyw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=cHVb0b7NwZv3y7Y4.
Talk about that clunk on downshift from 2 to 1
what is the point of not using it as your daily
I find it to be a waste of a nice car using it for point A to Point B in traffic or highways. I enjoy it for spirited driving. If I can afford a cheaper and more comfortable car for daily driving that performs better during the winters and keeps it out of the salt I don’t see why not to have 2 cars. As long as I’m being financially responsible anyway.
nice but by ripping it without even hitting 5.000rpm bro?
lol u right. It’s an old video. If u wanna give me a chance and hear me out here’s the reasoning. I was testing a new audio recorder and didn’t have it set up right. Anything in excess of 5K was hitting the audio limiter and sounded like sh*t. This was the only part of the video that sounded decent. Anyway I’ll post a better video next season, sorry to disappoint.
@@allenstevens All good, thanks for explaining.. I’m sure it’ll be awesome!
Evo X is fire, but Evo 9 is better!🔥🔥🔥
This will not r esolve the issue.
This resolved my issue. Not saying it will for everyone but it resolved mine.
Dodge viper and lancer evo 😈😈😈😈😈❤
Good video on some of the best features of the great 718 Cayman S. My favorite feature is the VGT turbo that gives powerful torque throughout a wide power band, combined with the light weight of the CS.
PSA to owners: do NOT listen to this and try to pop the markers out directly. You NEED to undo the fender lining to apply pressure to the metal clip that holds the indicator in so they release easily. If you just try to "pop it right out" the clip can break or fall off entirely, and then you will be short a clip.
Totally agree if you’re able to access the back side clip. In this experience I didn’t lose a clip luckily.
I don't know why they discontinued this model
Good video. APR now allows you to do it yourself at home. Big bonus. I pulled the 7.5amp soundaktor (sp?) fuse on my way home from the dealership! So much better.
That sure is a big bonus for anybody doing this now. At the time it was unavailable or else I would’ve opted to do so. I haven’t pulled the soundaktor in my 5 years of owning this car. I might have to give that a try.
yes you now can do it yourself apr tune by buying the self tune dongle it allows u to add the tune yourself and remove it whenever you have to go to the dealership.
Thanks for commenting, I didn’t know they have now made it more accessible now. Thanks.
-_- you can hear the misfire
Lovely car.
It could also be oil level these engine are very sensitive to oil level every 100ml counts.
this is the kind of thing that makes me appreciate the turbo 4-cyl... the inner man-child thinks it needs the 6.. 😂 the reality is there are tradeoffs, ie low-end torque
how is the update after a year?? I have a 2010 Panamera S model and i just got this stupid ticking. Hopefully that will take care of the problem.
I had someone explain to me in the comments that the ticking isn’t due to hydraulic lifters as this car doesn’t even have them. They suggested that it was the timing chains instead. At this point my car doesn’t tick anymore. Not sure if it was just a coincidence or this product worked for me. So do as you wish with this information. At this point I can’t give any sound advice but I will say my car no longer has this issue anymore. Good luck with your Panamera, I hope you get your problem taken care of.
Its sad nobody sells twin pipe exhaust that sound this good anymore.
Are you running an ecu tune along with tcu or just ecu? I have an ecu tune in my 718s considering the tcu
I’m running only the ecu. I have considered the TCU as well I just haven’t gone for it yet.
You can't see a linear throttle response by looking at the Dyno chart. For the Dyno testing they hold the throttle at full in a given gear and record the results. Linear throttle mapping is different- manufacturers like to trick you into thinking your car is faster than it is by giving you more power when you first press the throttle, so like 70% of the power is in the first 30% of throttle movement, then you press it down and wonder where the rest of the power is. This doesn't let you predict and learn how your car will respond to throttle inputs. Linear throttle mapping means that when you press the throttle 10% the ECU treats it as 10% load, 30% gives you 30%, etc. It makes throttle modulation much easier and enhances car control. In the old days when you press the throttle, a cable mechanically opened the throttle body valve to let more air in. Now when you press the throttle there is a sensor and the throttle body valve is opened electronically. Linear mapping allows it to open according to the pedal movements.
Also, thanks for the video, very cool
You're totally right, it's just a dyno chart not a real driving feel.
@@allenstevensLinear throttle and linear power delivery are two separate things. Linear power delivery is shown in the dyno chart, and it's what you are talking about. Linear throttle mapping is also included in the tune and it gets confusing when you use the word throttle to describe power delivery.

@@douglasreynolds5476 APR Flash Tune
What is the cause of this problem? I recently started using CERATEC from liqui moly hopefully it will prevent this issue from coming. Do you recommend to use the hydraulic lifter additive even if there is no sound to avoid this issue?
^please note that I had a stored code P000C Intake camshaft position slow response (bank 2)
Very helpful video, thanks for posting. Can still running well? I'm thinking about doing the APR tune very soon.
Car is still running well to this day, no issues!
🎉🎉
Damn these things are fast. Is this all stock or do you have a tune?
This is my car ❤
I agree with your points and shared experience with APR tuning. I did it on my Audi A6, some 5 years ago, the outcome is remarkable, and, as you said, with fuel economy too.
Did it goes on the dyno to check power before and after ? Just to know exactly the power gained
Yes. It’s done by APR though so keep that in mind.
😳Dodge viper
Update? I think I have the same issue.
Although it may have been my CV boot, I think it was the excess oil I spilled when I changed the oil the previous season. It probably only came out later because I had the car winterized. It may the be CV boot but I doubt it. I took the whole boot off and cleaned it and resealed it just in case though. But I no longer have the issue now, I’m just careful not to spill into the seams when I change the oil now.
Exhaust type?

Are there any Xennials that loved Corvettes in the 70's and 80's then dodge viper took over and now corvette is back? Long question I know.
