Watching this 5 years later, obe can say that even if SL wasn't the best expa lorewise, its cinematic is top and the reactions are the prove

Then we got the disappointment that was indeed shadowlands.

I've watched reaction videos to this, and a lot of people don't realize how boss level Sylvanna is. At this point in time she was arguably the most power person on all of Azeroth. As the Banshee queen, she has all the same powers over the dead and undead that Arthas did, (remember she got her powers after he raised her), but she didn't need the crown of domination in order to do it, and where she was hopped up on power from Shadowlands, she was untoppable. If Arthas was the king of the undead, she would most certainly be the queen.

And now we have Mephisto like a pet...🤡

they had the opportunity to make an epic expansion with shadowland, the jailer being a thanos who would destroy everything, but nope, soy boy expansion was on the corner lol

Then the trailer of Path of Exil (last dlc) and Path of Exil 2 went out as a buildozer lol

wasted potential. the lack of legacy characters and retconning decades of lore!

I'm still amused by the woman in the crowd who kept yelling "LICH QUEEN!" because I thought that was going to happen too.

Shadowlands was a cool idea, but very poorly executed. The main four zones were gorgeous, had some cool characters, and concepts. However, gameplay-wise it was poorly designed, and not salvaged until Zerith Mortis. And the Jailer was a poorly conceived villain. Making him “responsible” for so many events was a mistake. If they were going to do that, it needed more foreshadowing, but of course as it wasn’t the plan from the start, we didn’t get that.

It's not that bad now lol
