Knocked on one side also puts the string over to the side for better release and trajectory.
Does not look like it would bring down a buffalo. Why did Indians never invent a wheel?
Reclaim the lands and traditional way of life. The dream is coming ...
Thankyou fir this wonderful sacred education. This is how we need to return to living. We are disrespecting Mother Earth and forgotten our connection to the land. This was fascinating. Thankyou ❤
and this guy can make a lot of money selling these bow and arrows on Amazon you know traditional handmade native American bow and arrow I mean who wouldn't want to hang out on their wall I mean that would be a cool just a cool collector's item to have you know or even you could shoot it to you could really use it but most people just would hang it on the wall or something like that you know
Black Americans not African..!!! You either have a green card or you’re a born citizen please correct this!!!
Well done. Please pass this on to the next generation.
Thank you for the video! My spouse and I got his book and this will help us get the signs right
Fascinating- thank you!!
Rest in peace
I love haunting mysteries & I think you did really well describing this book! Thank you for your recommendation!
I was born in Johnstown, PA. Raised in TN. Now I live in Sand Springs, OK. You did really well explaining this book. Larissa Thank you!
Osage is some of the most unruly wood to work with and I respect the people who made them. The trick to making arrows by plucking them in the winter is something I didn't know! Hard dejavus, here! Cool stuff, Tulsa!
* I had the great pleasure of once meeting Mr. Pekah and let me assure you all that his voice was naturally full of bass and echoed like that (no issues with the sound here at all!)
My mom is Apache and Blackfeet... I love how he specifies that each tribe/nation had their own unique process and technique for making the arrows!
As a kid in Maine, I learned how to make a simple bow and arrow set. Funny thing is, I ended up doing a lot of what was presented here, almost the same way. DNA memory and practical "can this work?" mind set were the culprits, I suspect. Still are it seems. Thanks!
Did you sacrifice your curtains for your skirt?
Tout ce perd de nos jours.c'est bien dommage. Vive les Amérindiens
What an amazing man,i could listen to him for ages,an amazing culture 🙂more please excellent video👍
I make arrows from dowels, banging steel, turkey feathers, and an aluminum arrow as a collar for the tips.since the banding steel is free and the feathers are free, I only pay for glue and dowels. But, I also use epoxy, now the aluminum, and goes and epoxy are what is around the house . Might need to get another aluminum arrow, but if I get 24 arrows from one aluminum arrow its worth is . I pay literally $1.16 per arrow. Never had one break . Have lost some though.
I just attempted this and I know with practice it will get better with each time. Thank you for the beautiful pattern. I appreciate u and your video!!!
Interesting . Nice to get back to older cultures . I like it
Always wanted to hear how a bow and arrow was traditionally made. Thank you.
keep up the good work, pass this knowledge on bow making for future generations.Thank you, God bless.
Great videos. You know what? This is so useful in everyday life.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Fascinating storyteller. Could listen to him for hours!

Yes out doors the only way to go, the world is too loud, love the peace & wild life.
You'd need to be pretty sneaky to get that close to small game before shooting !
Wow,would be awesome to learn how to make old school Native American bows from verious tribes.
I didn't realize so much work went into making these things. A very good video.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge that you have learned from your native American Indian culture.
Thank you for sharing your truth! I believe many can learn from your teachings!! The world would be a better place! ❤
Mvto! I really enjoyed this. I’m a living historian and I plan on using “hand talk” in one of my presentations to the public and to communicate with fellow reenactors
awe he passed away RIP elder, Ekosi tahtimah. and i had some question. ill try how to make his bow and arrows learn from his videos. I am grateful for the knowledge he's left behind.

Indian enemies dont use armours. Asian and eurepeans needed proper bows. Indian bows look like toys.
Thank you for sharing Solid Knowledge, Sir.
Maclura pomifera, commonly known as the Osage orange and Bodark was used for many purposes. One as Elder Pekah demonstrates was for making bows. It was also used as a hedgerow to keep cattle contained and a wind break, as an insect repellant, fence post and rail ties to name just a few. We called the fruit it bares horse apples, but they shouldn't be eaten. As boys we sometimes got into chunking battles with the fruit, but you didn't want to get hit as they were a bit heavy and hurt like hell.
The old man still has his deadly touch. Good on him. Man and arrow, in motion. Silent, and by stealth. There is and always has been beauty in perfection. He is proof to us all that it still exists. Respect ❗️

Thanks for this. Kind of you to show us all.
Obsolete culture; it deserves to be ignored by those who favor progress.
