missing the boxes of mtdew. so many good memories.

Grew up in a small neighborhood with a bunch of kids my age. Four of us were super close, we still keep in touch many years later, they are like brothers to me. We’d sleep over at each other’s houses all the time and many late nights were spent on Halo 3 and Reach. We’re all in our mid 20s now, starting careers and whatnot. I miss those simpler times, we didn’t know how good we had it back then.

We lived right through the Golden Age, boys, and none of us realized what was happening until the world moved on. I'm not sad that it's over, I'm sad that apparently no company today understands that those games were made great in the first place by the Heart and the Guts and the Weight of the stories they were founded on. Sacrifice, brotherhood, unyielding determination, hope in the face of impossibility, and unshakeable faith that if you fought long and hard enough that everything was going to be all right. We should have had a new age for tales of great heroes and mighty warriors giving all they have for one last chance at a light shining in the darkness, not bland endless procedurally generated generic environments and CoD 26.

My brother and i didnt have the best of relationships in our teen years but one thing always brought us together and it was the halo series. One of if not the greatest soundtracks ever. I see everyones comments and it makes me so happy to see others who enjoyed and loved these games like we do. What i wouldnt give to turn my old 360 on and ask my brother if we could play ranked team doubles in our childhood home… hope this music touches everyone’s hearts like it does mine. See you on the battlefield Spartans 🫡

god. endless hours of forge mode on foundry i think the map was called and hearing this for hours cause me and my buddy would always plan out what to build while listening to this in the main menu, life was so damn simple.

Before playing online on halo 3, halo 1-2 were just me and the boys doing split screen redoing the campaign on legendary trying for new tricks and challenges we give each other lol

Just like that I’m home. Humid, rainy central new york. Tired from school and practice but instantly rejuvenated after booting up the 360 and hearing this. Excitedly adding my friends to the party and hopping on social btb in game chat. Eyes so fixated on the screen, the background fades to black.

Optional opinion, I wish you could also add some dialogues throughout the Lo-Fi music so it makes it more kind of intense

I miss them days when life was just about Halo 3. Not the women or the crazy journeys, the best days I had was in a garage having a lan party. So many others going against each other for what seemed like minutes back then. Moments I laughed so hard that I forgot to breathe because that hilarious once in a lifetime moment at Lockout with the team right at the start of the game, then joked about it to this day. we totally lost that one due to tears of fucking joy and laughing the whole round. Thanks for the memories mates.....

I miss those days it really doesn't feel that long ago but it is. Halo 3 call of duty 4 assassin creed 1 etc 2007 was a great year.

You're an absolute legend, mate.

To any young guys in the comments that don't fully understand. This was the single most eclectic and serene time of many of our lives. No explanation i can give even comes close to the feeling this exact image holds. It isn't really even about Halo 3. Halo 3 was a product of it's time. The world just felt different then. Schools were safe, nobody was glued to a phone, addicted to their facebook and tiktok reels. Families were generally well off and the world felt light. But as for Halo 3. The environment was completely different. No meta chasing, no greedy microtransations, no agendas, no streamers chasing highlight reels. Just people joining for pure fun, and a good story. Quite possibly the most social experience I've ever had. Many of those guys i met in Halo 3 attended my wedding as my groomsmen and i keep in close contact to this day. To my Halo 3 bros, we finished the fight. Don't be sad that it's over. Be glad that you were there to experience it.

For all of you that where there, I'm glad we all got to experience the best thing this world had to offer us during the peak years of Halo 3, it really never got better. And will forever be the fondest experience i have to look back on.

Halo is and always will be my favorite video game ever made. From the campaign story, to the weapon balancing, to the multiplayer.... It's truly the full package.

Had a dark room with many super street cars and euro mag cars with anime on the wall. On my roof, I had glowed in the dark stars hanging from my roof, I had gundam wing models fighting each other 12 models . Purple lights, my radio, had neon blue lights .😢 Miss my old.room .....oh and had a balcony. Xbox 360 and ps3 with a gametube My build computer with lime wire .
