How to make Homemade Brake ducting for your FB RX7

The weakest part of the 1st gen RX7 is the brakes. Since these cars came with 13 inch wheels the brakes had to be small. Whenever these cars get tracked or driven hard on nice roads the brakes will overheat. Now it helps when you use good fluid, good pads, and move to braided lines. Even if all other precautions are taken, the brakes will still likely overheat. Now if you look at any racecar th...

Add this info to your knowledge if you use only citric acids on car cooling system the rust eventually will return back after 3 or 4 months because its still on the iron and aluminum parts of the car and can start reacting again you need to neutralize the coolant by decreasing the ph of it with using sodium bicarbonate and after that flush the system really good with distilled water that way the new original high quality coolant you’re using gonna stay alot longer than it should be……..

Twice I’ve orderes the wrong brake pads for my 84 GSL. I have these calipers I pretty sure. One pad has ears the other has slots. I’ve been told the 81-83 have smaller calipers and that I may have. However I cant find any photos or reference to early GSL calipers. Any ideas?I ordered pads the other say hopefully these are the right ones . Kit says with hardware. And the other part number offered is different by one digit. The photo of the pads are like my own. Will update. Been putting off these rear brakes for ever!

You should never lever a float down under pressure - it forces the needle (which The tip is rubber ) into a hole (in the seat ) and it can crack that if it’s old - or mark it if it’s new soft rubber.

As a 35 year mercedes mechanic and shop owner, this is the best mb mercedes ever made. Ease of maintenance is a big part of it. But its roomy, it's got enough power, specially with a few easy mods. Make sure the sunroof seals are good, the tracks are lined and the drains are clear. There are also drains near the lower windshield sides near the hood hinge. Make sure that is clear of debris and the drain is open. Also lube those hinges. Same with the drain in the fuel filler part.
