can you do a video on how to put amazon lights on a maestro dmx and on a window laptop step by step i just can't figure it out
Stoked to see this get put through its paces! Hope you plan on showing some BTS setup/gig vids once it’s up and running as well 🤘
200%
We started out with planned transitions. Even playing tv and movie clips between songs. But after a while the singers got pretty good at banter. And they learned when we need to change tunings or setup pedals, and when we can go right into the next one
Lots of ways to get there!
Great discussion! This is a frequent topic for us. Often we wind up in the third set with people dancing who weren't dancing in the first two sets, and we're calling audibles, which can work well, but the time between songs as we're doing that is often too long. We're working on it.
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I don’t get it
They get lost and most in the washing mashine,I can confirm this is acurate🫤
@ oh thanks
Having a frontman/front-person in your band who can do the same talk transitions for each show and make it sound like they’re making it up on the spot is nice too.
solid advice...especially the "Always be performing."
🙏🙏🙏
Ah man I wish I was in Greensboro, I’d audition for the bass position in a heartbeat
🙌
5 seconds would be great - we started pulling audibles combing through the setlist at my last gig like a practice night 😂
How do I message you privately with questions? Email?
coverbandconfidential@gmail.com
Why would you need a stage box?
Thanks the for code used it last night on my order ✌🏻 , I use American di my dmx 3.0 and it’s a killer to learn so giving maestro a chance
Awesome! Hoping to have a follow up vid out soon.
I like the part where Dan…Dan? … was endlessly rambling and he acted like he forgot Dane’s name. Top notch content.
Thing looks like a tank of a mixer. I bet it has enough aux outs. Was always my gripe with the XR18. Also…be honest. Are you losing weight? Ya look like you’re slimming down a bit.
So....yeah I'm about 20 lbs down.
@ Fuck yeah. Congrats. Keep kicking that ass. (This doesn’t make us friends)
I just received mine, who thought it was a good idea to have the power switch in the back?
I mean... I usually power stuff on in our rack using the switch on the power conditioner....
Real 😂
what tuning?
Eb
I’ve trolled to the point of providing zero value to this channel but in all seriousness, you’re a damn good musician.
It means extra coming from you ❤️
I feel like this was an attempt at a clickbait title that didn’t play out well.
So like....every Rick Beato video recently?
Every. Single. One.
Yes because the pickups alone are worth $500
Bingo!
I always figured the transition was when they get sober. Most artists do their best work when they're high.
EXCELLENT observation
I’m so impressed with Epiphone this year I decided I need to own one. So I bought 6.
NOICE!
Great discussion! Our band had gone different ways with this over the three years we've been around. We usually play four hour shows and started out taking very short set breaks - two breaks of 5-10 minutes - in the hopes to not lose the momentum and lose people. But over time we realized that walking around talking to people we do and don't know helps to retain people, even if the set breaks are longer.
It sounds like you've found a great balance!
@@CoverBandConfidential In general, yes. We're always working on what will bring the most people to shows, and what will retain them as long as possible. When we see people come before a show, stay for four hours watching us, and leave after it's over, we know we did something right.
🏆🏆🏆
Musicals and plays often have an intermission. The best films for a great theater experience are generally between 90-120 minutes.
Absolutely. The more we as musicians understand that we are ENTERTAINMENT the easier it is to make the right choices.
Who wins in a fight between you 2? I don’t think it would be a good fight but my money is on Adam.
What an odd thing to say...
@ its never odd to wonder who would win in a fight between 2 men.
I like Brian d'Arcy James from the off broadway Hamilton. He did the best job. He came back for the broadway show at some point too. (where I saw him)
The lore of King George III in this show has become more compelling year over year in this show.
Biggest pet peeve is having a know it all just outright take the motivation out of you 😒😮💨
Yeah those folks suck.
Recently sold my FM3 and Kemper Stsge and kept the HR Prime and Core (share presets), which I wouldnt have dreamed. These 2nd gen HR products are so darn good in every way.
HR is really making some noise lately!
Lounge Lizard is the alternative
Not a fan of Beato. BUT. His point was against the most creative years being before an artist is 30. He just phrased it in an odd, roundabout way.
Go to a piano store and see when a decent piano costs. 10k is barely scratching the surface. The electronic stuff is more than good enough but it’ll never beat a natural resonating wood and metal music instrument. It is crazy expensive though.
Sorry to hear about the issues with the Quad Cortex on gig day. I feel like there's a bit of an open secret that thing is a bit of a ticking time bomb, Jon Cordy made an appearance on The Guitar Hour recently and alluded as much: th-cam.com/users/liveflRougrvE2w?si=H7gZAr5n2TAmmTvd&t=4073. I've only used the plugins, but I'm convinced that company is all marketing and you're far better off with Line6, Fractal, or Kemper.
Wow. Dan, buddy. Showing up to a gig without a backup rig? Shame.. LOL!😂. Full disclosure, I'm an IT infrastructure guy so redundancy is in my DNA. Maybe literally, I've never been tested. I run a Helix LT as my main rig. I carry an HX Stomp XL as a backup and have gone to the extent of creating presets to mirror, mostly, what I have in the LT. Both get managed over MIDI out of BandHelper so it's seamless if I have to go to it. Then, ok, maybe there IS something wrong with me, I have a Tech 21 SansAmp as a backup to the backup. Yeah, pretty sure there's some trust issues I need to unpack......
I love the stem versions of karaoke tracks, we used them for self practice - though it was a bit of a constant battle, half of us liked using them and the other half, just insisted on using anything but the tracks…
Karaoke stems? Where do you get those?
I have the IP3000, it doesn’t work well, the audio comes and goes, I changed the audio signal cable, I did a factory reset but it still fails.
NO ULTRA NET... Stupid
AES and Stageconnect are worthy replacements in my opionion
I love the IP series. I have both an iP2000 and a 1000 that I sometimes daisy chain together without linking via XLR cables. I play in a 3 piece 70's acoustic band playing everything from America, CSNY and Eagles. I use a Mackie ProFX 12 mixer. Never have trouble with volume and run them at O to +2 volume which with my limited understanding isn't 0 unity gain? They have enough power and also in reserve if I need more
There is truly something to be said about youth and creativity, as an aspect of prodigy rather than experience. There are hundreds of artists in various media who produced masterworks before 30. There are artists still creating into their 70s, who play songs from their 20s at every show. AC/DC jokes that they've "actually made TWELVE albums that sound exactly alike". Are they "creative" in their 70s, making the same record over and over while people cover their same five classics?
You’re certainly still creative. Just look at that haircut!
I was ready to grow it out and then I was like "nah"
Thanks for the shoutout to SetList!!
Trouble in paradise it looks like. Poor Danny desperately wants recognition for his song list app and Adam is like “nah I’ll use Matt’s.” That hurt to watch lol.
😂🤣😂
Show us the bass!
Working on a review! Hopefully out this week.
Adam, I live a few miles out of York. Are you playing in town?
Nothing planned at the moment. Any suggestions?
@@CoverBandConfidential It depends on what you are looking for. I'm probably the last man to ask since I'm only just getting back into performing from a few years off.
My surf band had a gig scheduled last Saturday. Last Wednesday, the bass player informed us that he had a death in the family and that he would not be able to make the gig. What was the solution? "I have a Squier Bass Vi that sits in my closet and doesn't get used!" (Look these things up. They're a lot of fun to play). I spent all Wednesday night into the early hours of Thursday morning woodshedding our set. I used the aux out of my Boss tuner to run to a bass amp, and ran my other pedal board to my guitar amp. That way I could "turn off" the guitar amp when I wanted to and turn it back on when I needed splash. We rehearsed the next evening, and went on stage Saturday night, and it went great. It was the most fun I've had on stage in a LONG time. I was confident enough to say "yes I can do this!" I learned that if you put the screws to me I will make it happen, and it will be FUN for me!
AWESOME story! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I stand by my statements. We’re in the golden era of gear, and you sounded 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼.
I got one of the Les Paul Customs in Ebony. It’s absolutely amazing. So worth the money.
I have used a Soundcraft UI24R for quite some time and once I fitted an external router and added a small fan to each end of the casing in a push pull setup I have been very pleased with it and had no problems whatsoever.
Yet another Maestro video with no lighting effects. Ufff
At the time this was made I had yet to properly set it up and figure out what my lighting rig would consist of in a live setting. I am working on a follow up now that I’ve been using it for the past few months.
Considering how crappy Rolling Stone is, I'm surprised they didn't have Tiny Tim as the GOAT.
