@@zamaxan1 I suppose in a roundabout way, yeah. I keep track of the in-game catalogue and have over 90% of the 1300 items in the game. But this is my daily game like how people play wordle (though with a bigger time investment). I decided at the start of this year to document a full year of playing the game every day to show off the experience, a lot of people never have the investment to play Animal Crossing like this despite it being the way the games are intended to be played so i thought it would be fun to sort of show it off. There are daily errands that I have to do, and some days that’s all I do, but I’m able to find stuff to do on days where I feel like playing longer. Once the year ends and this series is over, I’ll still play it every day, and yeah, I’ll probably do literally everything eventually.

@ Yes it’s my favourite, and one of my favourite games of all time over all. I really want to try the GC one though, the completely random features that are exclusive to it are fascinating. Maybe I’ll do a series on playing that game for the first time some day.

@@SevenofEleven Part of what I like about animal crossing is the pseudo-social aspect with your villagers, and I never really feel a strong connection with New Horizons villagers because their dialogue can be very basic and repetitive. This game’s more fun with the dialogue and writing in my opinion. I also find the simplicity of this game interesting because it encourages you to explore your limited creative options more thoroughly. Also I just have a sentimental connection with this game in general so it’s my favourite.

@@WildWorldCastGotcha, all excellent reasons :) Do you ever go online? All of my sentimental value is in Wild World too, but suddenly I got a spark with New Horizons and was able to appreciate it as its own thing. Not the same vibe as WW at all but still nice. I hope the next game takes the best parts of all of the games in the series

@ At some point I’d like to take a similar approach as this series in New Horizons to get an appreciation for the daily experience, I still like the game and I’ve played it a ton so I’d love to give it an extended look over the course of a full year at least. And yeah, a combination of the series’ best elements for the next game would be awesome.

@@3noon121 It fluctuates. Sometimes I do the bare minimum (which is just talking to all my villagers and watering the flowers) which takes like 10-15 minutes. Right now whenever I want to do something more interesting I’ve been working on segmenting my town by fruit trees and making gardens out of certain types of flowers. There’s also usually some sort of event every two weeks like the Fishing Tourney which adds a bit of variety. I think I also just derive entertainment from the daily commitment, it’s fun to keep up with the town and gradually progress towards overarching goals like completing my catalogue.

I think the reason why opening the town gates will cure them is because every villager will go inside when someone’s visiting and have normal dialogue. I guess that function overrides the villager being sick, but I’m not sure if it would properly cure them if you shut your gates afterward

Not that I have any other options, but even if I could do direct capture I think I prefer this style cause it's more genuine and physical. Makes it feel like you're right there in the moment if that makes sense.

Thank you. Sometimes I wonder if this series has been worth the time and effort, and it’s good to know that it has. We’re just about halfway through the year and I don’t plan on stopping till the ball drops. I’ll be around.

@@WildWorldCast It is (objectively better) it is like wild world with 60 fps and 4 times better graphics not just that it added the city which is great. Also silver tools are there. Better soundtrack (because the soundtrack is in higher quality) better display because you can play it on a tv and on a bigger display. You might think the dialog is in wild world better but i think they are both great (I played both games more then 100 hours). Ok maybe it’s great that the villagers are mean in wild world but that’s the only thing that is better. So objectively wild world has less content and a bad frame rate. Prove me wrong (ps: I love both of the games) I don’t want to say wild world is bad but if you can play city folk it is the better option. City folk is underrated ( and city folk have real events like Christmas, Easter, Halloween, Turkey-day which wild world don’t have

@@LeonGeht there’s no objectivity in video games. I don’t really like how the city takes you away from your village - I prefer everything being in the village itself. Silver tools don’t matter once you have gold tools. Graphics and framerate don’t matter to me at all - I like the low poly models in Wild World anyway. Being able to just turn on my DS anywhere I want and immediately play the game is more accessible than having to turn on my TV, turn on the Wii, and then start the game - it’s not as accessible. The thing with City Folk is that it doesn’t have the best graphics (New Horizons), it doesn’t have the best events (GameCube), it doesn’t have the best dialogue (Wild World), and it doesn’t have the best customisation (New Leaf/Horizons). Not only is it mostly derivative from Wild World from taking its soundtrack but it not really exceeding any other game in the series in any particular area makes it have practically no identity.

@@WildWorldCast compared to other animal crossing games wild world is also shit so this is not a fair comparison I could also say GameCube better holidays city folk more content and the city…… But you are right animal crossing city folk is in nothing the best but it is all good. Dialog: good, Music: Great, Holidays: good. Wild world also gets some hate that it is similar to GameCube version. Just because something is to similar that doesn’t mean it is bad and have no identity (Cityfolk fells like a remake of a great game) I like city folk because I played wild world. you never played this game you just heard it is a bad game. You should give it a try. It combined the best from GameCube and wild world it fells like a mix of GameCube and wild world which is great. The city have a lot of identity the music is so great there

I’m only making this series because I love this game, so if you feel so strongly about City Folk maybe you could do your own series instead of trying to get me to play a game I don’t really want to play

You’re right, that is lucky! It’s likely a lot of hacked stuff though, so be careful it doesn’t corrupt your main town. You should be fine as long as you don’t mess around with any unintended items.

@@WildWorldCast thanks for warning me! im clumsy and probably would've done that if there was any. definitely was hacked, but thankfully whoever owned this save deleted mostly everything except the bells and catalog. also coincidentally got 3 villagers i have in my NL town, one of them being bob :) very happy because i never got him in CF or WW. and golden tools as soon as i got on the game!
