Over the past 5 years the Academy of Model Aeronautics District 1 Outreach Team has been cultivated and refined to bring a new method of enjoyment and marketing to RC modelling. Encompassing our motto of Entertain, Educate, and Engage, we have shown thousands how the AMA helps bring fun into learning, connecting our hobby to career paths or a new passion.
Our team utilizes skillsets from all age groups and all interest areas of the hobby from clubs around the district to best create a well rounded team. Not all of us are skilled pilots, photographers, teachers, or story tellers, but together we make up the pieces that complete an impactful team.
Putting on displays at major local events and airshows and show our passion off at the highest levels both in the air and on the ground. We entertain the public. We then educate through showing the value and possibilities unlocked through modelling We then engage with our collective ability to relate to any age or interest with our variety of team members. This year our goal was to spread the knowledge that we exist to the community. . Connecting with larger educational programs like the FAA's STEM outreach team, Scouts of America, Laconia's ACE camps, and others to branch out into classrooms and expos.
Many enthusiastic members are trying to find their voice and a means to help in the way that best fits their skills within the hobby. By creating a diverse and demanding team it gives us the outlet that we’re looking for. This team is created with hopes and dreams of growing the AMA back into a household name by members who are passionate, willing, and able.
