In a bid to host the trend of cryptocurrency Internet scam that had been defrauding FCT residents of their earnings, the FCT Police Command began a two-day training on cryptocurrency forensic investigation fundamentals for officers.

With many people reported to our polling pre of the new digital money cryptocurrency fraud, the FCT Police Command in partnership with crypto and cyber intelligence organizes two-day training for officers of the Command Criminal Investigation department on special cryptocurrency forensic investigation fundamentals to aid in tracking fraudsters.
Assistant commissioner of police ACP Mayamba Iliya, ACP X-Squad, FCT Command, says the training will sharpen the digital investigative skills of the officers tracking down fraudulent activities of the scammers:
The people you're seeing here seated here investigators and they will need it. The trend right now in the societies is that crimes are committed in the cyber spaces and for investigators this is really needful. They need to know what techniques it takes, what it takes to investigate those kind of crimes and to a large extent this course is very important and vital and valuable.
CSP Bashir Abdullahi, FCT Police Investigation Officer: The training titled Cryptocurrency Forensic Investigation is very apt, considering the evolving nature of crime and advancement of technology in the country today and in the global space at large.
Some of the cryptocurrency cyber security experts and trainers on underscore the importance of fundamental training for the investigative officers in tackling cyber crime.
