GPX TSE300 Clutch Differences (from KTM/Rekluse)
Just because I tore into this engine and was like, "Well it's a 2019 KTM 300XC!" but there are minor changes they have done so I wasn't entirely right. Plus don't want folks wasting money.
To me it's likely KTM steels might fit a bit weird and that a KTM pressure plate won't work at all on these.

Eh not truly fun but we can talk about it now because it feels kinda funny to me at this point. Not a fan of this bike stock, requires a LOT of work to be a good bike and many OEM parts won't last a single season. Rather have a WP shock on here anyway, have had too many issues with this bike to go back and forth with GPX, rather just fix things myself where I know it works. More of a heads up f...

Maintenance: 2022 GPX FSE300R Clutch Pack Replacement
Hi, can you help me with what year make model aftermarket parts fit chassis and engine? I have a 2023 tse300r and i'm shopping for chassis protection like radiator guards, fork guards, skid plate, disc guards. Engine protection like case protectors, pipe guard, etc. Thanks!
Blew my fork seals today at 5 hours… little surprised by that. thinking of doing ktm seals at least, any recommendations tho? Do you adjust the settings same as XPLORs?
Basically identical to WP Xplor forks save for thread pitch in a few areas like the lower 'compression' bolt on the bottom different pitch. Uses same WP 48mm seals so yea some SKF would work fine. I have always found the OEM seals on the suspensions on these to be....junk.
Would you buy anGPX again?
I dunno, my own personal reasons make me want to say no but I won't rule things out. Will say I do enjoy building new bikes out of the crate, that is an experience you don't get with many other bikes and wouldn't have found that out without trying these.
300xcw covers work on these cases right?
From what I see all should work since even KTM clutch gasket is the same.
learning so much from your videos. I just bought me a tse300r on sale.
YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER OFF JUST TO BUY THE KTM AT THIS POINT.
I mean it's whatever to me, bike's working fine. I can make it work if I want and this was just a play thing, I just got a Rekluse because it looked fun to play with for a bit. More don't want others to try this since Rekluse has these kits listed for this bike on their website and I think they made some assumptions that this is a 'clone engine', it's very close but has differences. Many of my frustrations with this bike were less with the bike and more GPX. From my side I got into these out of curiosity, learned what I need so like Kove/CFMoto/etc that are copying other engines, if I ever run across one I know what to expect. Like GPX sells Kove and I don't have an interest in those, I don't have questions. With THIS TSE300, I wanted to see if this was a KTM copy engine.
Hi Sam where can I contact you?
I saw in some comments that you replaced the cracked case with a new engine from GPX. How much was a crate engine from GPX??
Really like what you have done here i just purchased a 2025 gpx put fse300r Put around 200 miles done first oil and filters and now looking to tune like yours im not very tech savvy hope its not to hard
So what do you think so far, worth it or buy a used 2017 ktm 300 for 6k.
It depends but to do it over again I'd probably have looked at a '17-19 KTM. There's nothing wrong with my bike right now but it took 2 months of work to get it running, both engines I received had issues. Got this bike out of curiosity and because I wanted 'new' but few months into ownership I'd done more work to the bike than I would have on a used bike. Maybe they improved things on new ones, I can't say, after I fixed the engine it's been solid for last 100-hours so that's good. Also I run into Chinese QC issues even still, went to install a Rekluse and the steel discs wouldn't fit in one engine but do fit in the other engine, thankfully I had a spare engine to test it on but this isn't unexpected on these bikes.
@SCakey What was wrong with the engines? The bike I'm looking at is a very clean 44hour 2017 ktm 300cx-w $5600 The other is a 2024 gpx tse 300 with a kd jet kit and a few other things with 88 miles on it guy wants $4500.
@@timofeypinchuk877 His might not have issues. Powervalves locked closed, waterpumps seep coolant lightly, seen bad piston rings on new engines and I'm sure very few have done top ends. For that difference to me the KTM is much easier to find parts going forward. GPX is 'the same' but different, various parts are KTM copies with different thread pitch so you have to replace more than you'd think to use a KTM part. They arent bad bikes just odd differences from KTM you dont always expect.
@SCakey but you're a fan of their 4 strokes, right? The fse300?
Looks bomb
Hello, do you think it might be work with mt05.3 euro 5??

Hi frind can i get any whatsapp or facebook contact to help me in wireing to useing snifing mood in HUD ECU
did you put KTM stickers on your GPX?
Scrubz designs plastics come with decals so got KTM logos on it.
On my bike (mash 400cc) i de-catted the exhaust. To make it run better i set it to stay in open loop mode. Now you can change the AFR without the O2 sensor keeping it on 14.6:1. But for idle it wil use close loop. Plus i changed the spark advance. Also turned of the decel enlean for smoother on/off trottle and lowered idle rpm.
Can you please share a firmware?
Can you please share a ECU dump from hud ECU hacker? Have 3 450cc ECU mt05.2 binaries

Hey there, if I want to change the imput usage form the hardware, in order to change it to 0, I should just disconnect the corresponding wire?
Hello, can you help me remove the speed limitation from my son's moped, who has a MT05 ECU DELPHI? Any suggestion will be welcomed and valued.
I've never enabled it but most likely under Fuel Cutoff Testing -> HW FCO Limit Vehicle Speed. You could possibly also remove this under Hardware --> J1-16 Input Usage change to 0.
Thanks for your quick reply. Can you assist me on how to change the input usage to 0? It’s a jumper, a wire connection or anything else?
Do you get gold looking shimmer in your oil from the clutch plates?
Do you recommend replacing the stock muffler?
Was thinking of installing these on my fe350s dual sport ?
Sam could you help me with 1 little item
Thanks for the video. Seems like there’s a basket full of issues with these bikes that it’s still better going for a used ktm.
That's my personal thought, I would have been better with a used $7k KTM. Too many Chinese issues on these for the price and GPX seems to have moved onto Kove. Probably find these for like $3-4k used next year.
Where did you get your tune from
How to adjust the fuel rate pressure
I was about to pull the trigger on one of these as a 3rd bike to a 1996 KDX200 and a 2019 KTM250XC I think you talked me into a KLX300R instead lol.
Where’s the assembly video 👀
KTM open chamber instructions, others done better videos and in the maintenance manual. Standard forks, nothing crazy except rebound adjuster.
Copy thank you! I gotta do my tse250 fork seals soon and never done them! What size fork seals and what brand you Recommend?
Also how much oil🤔
@@sliceofbutter6766 Open chamber forks measure fork oil height from the top of the fork tubes without spring. You can change that height depending on what you want, think I had mine around 120-130mm.
@@sliceofbutter6766 only use skf dual compound fork seal set. They are highly upgraded heavy duty seals to compare to factory. I called up USA Motortoys in Utah ( gpx ) to order my seals for my tse300. If replacing, use upgraded seals to prevent issues. Little more expensive but worth it. About 80 bucks for both sides
Before you sling a bunch of money into your suspension on this thing, after watching your riding video , I tell you sure that your whole bike is set up to tall by the way the tip One way or the other Every time change direction slightly. Your front end deflects like some sort of 1960s chopper, and that is because the compression dampening is either set to high , or your fork oil is too thick , It could also be that you just have too much fork oil in the forks... lowering the fork oil level will allow the forks to sit lower in the stroke while writing giving you better steering control and better steering angle, and will also make the fort plusher in the upper stroke because the air in the fork won’t get compressed as fast. I also feel that you don’t have quite enough pre-load in the rear end ,which is causing a drastic shift in the steering angle of the front end every time you give it gas ,changing your expectation of directional control ,which makes you ride the bike in an uncontrollable Swervy fashion... If you’ve been riding that Rocky 2 track terrain like in your other video most of the time ,I would say your suspension is plenty well broken in by now... that being said I would back off the compression dampening on the front end and maybe drop the clamps on the forks a good little bit changing the steering angle of the bike and the seating angle of the bike ...that may solve your deflection problem and your squatty rear end problem, it may not though. I’m not familiar with that fork so I can’t comment on where the dampening circuit actually begins to take affect on the fork, but it looks like you’re having a compression problem at absolute impact instantaneously at the front end so that says to me that you probably need to drop the fotk oil level in the fork first ,and and if you are only running a few clicks of compression upfront or haven’t even made it to half of the clickers yet I would definitely drop the fork oil viscosity to the next lower viscosity..
Good info but on those Xplor forks they were basically turned out almost max, I could have changed fork height a bit or fork oil but eh, got different carts in there now that I like more. Think I might have been like 2 clicks in from max or something on them most the time. These videos would have been with OEM suspension and what I find on Chinese stuff is it's entirely hit or miss coming from the factory, you can rebuild it and it can be decent but from the factory....eh. Heard one guy got his shock rebuilt after 40-50hrs and had 50psi of charge in it, who knows if it was like that from factory or just leaked. I wanted to try KTech ORVs in these forks but wasn't in the cards with GPX. The squatting rear end might have just been the OEM shock, I have sag set around 35-40mm and rider at ~115-120. Also have no idea when the OEM shock really blew out, I really felt it at like 45hrs going up Red Cone pass, felt like a pogo-stick in back but maybe leaking before that. Will be revisiting these notes again though since I've been diving into suspension a bit more lately for the new year and setup is always important.
Hey Sam, got my FSE300r. What's your take on the rear shock. Got it at 20 clicks out rebound but just wouldn't let go of the damping. Still at 2 second to return back to uncompressed, harsh on rooted section. Is this normal to a fse300r or maybe its just new. Btw, Did you replace springs for your weight?
I didn't dig into that one the same, lucked into a nice WP shock on mine but what I see is Chinese suspension stuff from the factory can be hit or miss like maybe your nitrogen isn't fully charged, maybe it's not bled right, a rebuild can generally make it good. Now I kinda wish I had kept the SZC Linkage shock to take apart but sold it a while back. I didn't replace springs because I'm a small guy and geared up I hit the 155-160lb range.
@@SCakey im kinda new to this type of shock. I suspect the same with low pressure. I dont see any Schrader valve. Is it covered? I'm at 190lbs geared. Any idea what the stock spring rate is a base reference.
Sam, dont they have a preset selection like an eq for pop, rock, jass? Power, cruise, mellow.. Like that. Don't really like to fiddle with things I don't have foresight.

How do these not just let sharp edges separate them and still hit the rim?
The balls expand a bit as you ride and basically 'fill in' to touch each other. I could see having weird spots in the rim if you try to subtract a lot of balls from the wheel, I'd drill holes through them before removing balls for harder enduro.
why would that be a concern.?

Yea for $4k USD, I'd take that deal on these.

Hello, can you explain to me in writing how you solved your cracked crankcase problem, because I don't speak English very well but I can translate your text with Google translator. Thank you from France.
Hello, I didn't actually fix that engine with the broken case. I have thought of trying to find a good welder to see if they'd give it a try but I don't know how well any fix would hold up. I think any welding fix would make it so my cases wouldn't match as well for the main case gasket sealing surface. The 'fix for me' was getting a second engine from GPX and swapping it in. I use the broken engine really just as some emergency spare parts.
@@SCakeyWhat did the new engine cost?
