Its been a LONG time since I heard this tune, though this version seems a bit subdued. It was my favorite song from my marching band years; 1988, I was a sophomore. We had a spitfire trumpet player, all of 4'10", 90lbs soaking wet but she could BLOW that trumpet like it was nobody's business. She belted this one out like it owed her money! Good times.
This is an exciting drill song!!!!!!!
I used this in one of halftime shows with my high school band back in the day. Jenson Gold was the very best back in the day and still stands the test of time in my opinion. Thanks for posting this.
We played this in Nuneaton Scout Band in 1983 , brought back fantastic memories today

Greenway High School marching band 1980/1981...our signature piece. Took 2nd place overall in the invitational in 1981 in southern California.
東京大吹連は、パレードでこの曲がかぶる事しばしば。でも良い曲だから皆かぶるのですね～。

Came from a very small high school with a small marching band, and this song was our anthem. We took first place in two separate parade competitions one in Boston one in Hershey park

Played this in High School Marching Band. We performed in Disney World, marched a parade in Epcot Center. Still remember so much about that moment in time.

Played this at San Diego State -- we ARE the Marching AZTECS, after all! We DID bump the tempo a touch. And loving the copy of the Blue Devil uni the band in the pic is wearing (Lake Park HS I think)...I wore the real thing in 84.

@@samsignorelli . . . . I believe ? this recording is the University of Oklahoma Marching Band. . . . Jay Bocook dedicated this composition to the 1982 Oklahoma All Star Band. A high school honors marching band for the Oklahoma East vs. West football game. Both were held on the University of Oklahoma campus the last week of July. I am proud to say I was in the band under the direction of the late Gene Thrailkill. The man who brought the "Pride of Oklahoma" marching band to the national stage. R.I.P. Coach you and the All Star Band are missed. Such a shame this band was never revived by band directors or band organizations in Oklahoma. . . . . I admire the San Diego State Band for kicking up the tempo. Enjoyed it very much.
