I hoped you enjoy all of the spooky books. I don’t read many thrillers other than horror. I did when I was younger. After the birth of my daughter (now 36) my best friend gave me It to read. The only book I ever put in the trash. I couldn’t because I being a new mother.

Read my first Kingfisher this month too!! The house with Good Bones. Lol. I loved it and instantly started shopping for backlist. Buuuutttt...I'm a weirdo so that writing fit me perfect. Ha.

I feel like slippers is a weird gift unless they ask for your shoe size because those wouldn’t have fit my feet and sad about the quality. I feel like the quality of items has gone down. Leaning toward quantity over quality. That’s unfortunate the book was boring hopefully your next read is more fun!

I was thinking of reading When the moon hatches but thought it was a standalone, ast is a part of a series I will give it a pass for now.Everking sounds fun times name so sweet. I am glad you are finding enjoyable pirate read as it is your theme this month. My pirate read was cinnomon and gunpowder, which wasn't what I thought was going to be, but I really enjoyed it. It is great you are finding books you love by Apollycon authors. Ihope you get a chance to have a good chat with the authors when you go .

It is fun to see someone get so excited about a book! Also, I am the opposite - I can't get into audiobooks. I keep trying but it just doesn't grab me like physical books do.

lol, that Stevie, I love it. I got this box just for the bowl, lol, I have all the others. I just started this book today for a readathon, hoping to finish it over the weekend. The language is Spanish, which I'm fluent in. The front says "The Iron Prince." The back makes less sense to me, but it sounds like a riddle or poem, it literally says, at the top, "Disk that amazes ("asombra" could also be a play on the word "sombra," which means shadow). Red river that is more pure," and at the bottom, "Castle of the shadows. There is no light in Dark." Romina Garber, the author, I believe, comes from South America, though I'm not sure exactly which country. The stenciled edges are incredible.

I love trivia, but hate all versions of Trivial Pursuit I've ever played, they just make me feel dumb, lol. Maybe sub in another booktuber's game? -- A Bingo board, Library Unbouded's Lord of the Reads, Stephanie's Bookverse's Star Hop, ... Or, maybe work on a List, like the Gilmore List, or top 100 of whatever you like

Maybe on the Tamora Pierce line you just make it series in general! Spin your series wheel to pick one and focus on one until it’s done. Maybe that will help you get through all those series! Or authors backlist!

For piraty recs, I don't know if you've read Treasure Island, or maybe not since you were kid, but it's a surprisingly fun adventure that holds up great for adult reading. I read it a couple years ago at the beach, and it was really fun to see where so many of the classic pirate tropes comes from.

It's probably good you didn't end up reading Filth because that author writes some really messed up stories, lol. I have both Vilest Things and Beyond the Sea on my list, but I didn't know about The Third Gilmore Girl! I loved Emily's character, so I will definitely be picking that up. Thanks for letting me know about it! I'm also excited for The Thirteenth Child by Erin Craig, Graveyard Shift by M. L. Rio (the We Were Villains author!), The Night Guest by Hildur Knutsdottir, and finally a special anniversary edition of Jane Austen at Home I preordered and I'm so excited about getting. It's a great month for new releases!

Multiple suggestions, there is the classic Treasure Island. I would recommend Pirates by Celia Rees it’s middle grade but I really like her books. You could look into Dark Shores by Danielle L Jensen haven’t read it as waiting for the series to be completed before I start but sounds good and fits your theme. I will be Reading cinnamon and gunpowder needed a book with cinnamon in the title for one of my Orillium props and found a couple on my library app but was influenced by you mentioned talk like a pirate day on sprits to pick this one it sounds fun the description starts “A gripping adventure, a seaborne romance, and a twist on the tale of Scheherazade-with the best food ever served aboard a pirate’s ship” The book trivial pursuits is so hard. I am starting poppy wars this month I am also Reading somewhere beyond the sea this month too. Funny you should mention one piece I am going to start watching the anime with my nephew I am heading back to Orillium for magical readathon this month it was my first and still my favourite readathon and am going to see if I can double it up with seasonathon Academy as I want to support whimsical narrative but Orillium will be my main focus

It's too bad Immortal Dark wasn't a hit. I think it's in an upcoming Owlcrate box. I need to comment on Discord, but I did give If We Were Villains a 4 because I am a bit of a Shakespeare fan, nothing like the characters in the book, lol, but did enjoy studying it in college. I'm just starting to read The Raven Boys, but I'm determined to get through the series, so hopefully I'll have a better time with the series.

The pirate theme is such a fun idea! The only books that I can think of that have some sort of pirate element are: The Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller, All the Stars and Teeth by Adalyn Grace, Brightstorm by Vashti Hardy, Well Met by Jen DeLuca, and The Princess Bride :) I totally agree with you about Rory! Instead of the Trivial pursuit, maybe you can do a smaller version of Mels game. Instead of a big board, maybe do it tick tac toe or Bingo style.

Love the pirate theme this month. Y'all need to take a family vaca to Beaufort NC and check out Blackbeards ship bonus it is an ADORABLE town! For the trivia pursuit why not a book with a pig on the cover? For my recommendation with a pirate spin I am going to say A Long Fatal Love Chase by Louisa Mae Alcott I read it in my 20s and it has still stuck with me it was a fun ride...not sure if I would still think that. I may give it a reread as it is still on my shelf. So I liked it enough to move with me one million items LOL

Daughter of the Pirate King series by Tricia Levensellar

Watching you read through that entire series was such a journey, hahah; I really enjoyed seeing you having so much fun with it. The weather has been amazing here too, you can really feel the shift to autumn in the chilly winds we sometimes get in the afternoons. It's also monsoon season here, so we've got rainy afternoons galore and an explosion of sunflowers everywhere, so it's a beautiful time of year, and I spend as much time reading outside in my back porch as I can.

Ugh. The Netgalley struggle is real! I also cant get to 80% because of all of the good ones I keep seeing! I am thinking of trying a NetGalley November to try and cut down on books that I have. Thank you for the heads up with the Lexi Ryan book. I haven't read the duology yet, so I will do that.

It is a shame that the final broken bonds didn't get 5⭐ across the board but it was so obvious you had a great time in the series. I haven't got to the book read book yet this month as I decided to re-read some of the Shakespeare plays that are referenced in it. I will start it today but not sure if I will get it all read but as I read mirror of the beast this month I am just switching the months and will update in tandem

Totally agree, this book wasn’t great. It started out so good! The middle was soooo slow and the ending fell flat. I agree, the gifts were cute though. I took off most of the charms because they weren’t my taste. Thankfully they came off easily.

It was a delight to see how much you enjoy the series. I love the cover designs and your enthusiasm and talk bout the friendship and magic is making the series very intriguing. I still don't feel it is for me. I hope you find an affordable special edition set at some point and the blog was not at all boring your joy and the journey we saw you going through was great to see
