My AP-Art portfolio!! ( I got a five?? HUHH??)
First time trying to post an actual video! Lets not talk about how bad the audio quality is cough cough
But yeahh!! This project took over 250 hours, and I scored a five! (The highest score woahh)
Hope this video can inspire someone! I loved watching tours while making this portfolio so I figured I’d try also tossing my hat in to the pile yknow

Hiya! The height and width is in inches right? If you're doing digital does the canvas have to be in inches?
@@banana_bear2745 possibly? It’s been quite a while since I did this lol but I’m pretty sure Ibis paint has a setting that shows it in inches! Either way because it’s digital they probably don’t care about the canvas size as much 😭

I’m pretty nervous because the art teacher laughed in my face when I asked about the course but hopefully she’ll let me use digital art too.

As a current sophomore in high school, I'm taking ap art next yr along with 2 others (lit and precalc) and i'm scared for the workload, let alone my artwork being good enough 😭
Ohhh no you’ve got this!! I found taking AP lit made the writing section for art way easier, so hopefully that helps! 🙏🙏
what is the name of your career? i'm trying to find more options and not just plastic arts bc i've seen how harsh they are with less classical artists, and tbh i am more interested on character desing and stuff like that than just realism or sculpting.
I don’t have a career yet unfortunately 😭 if you’re into character design that’s a job! Working for animation or storybooks doesn’t seem to need realism :)
@@mimi.sues. oh sorry, I think I meant a degree? or university studies in general, in Spanish you say university career to refer to what you are gonna study, anyways, what are you studying? it could be a course or the university thing xd

Literally amazed and gobsmacked how you drew so many of these on your phone! And also feeling a sense of relief that it *IS* possible to not have realism in our portfolios and still be able to get past the judgement call!! (As someone who’s jack shit with realism sobs)
its comforting to know i can do a inquiry that is something like this and still be able to score high bc the ones i were seeing in examples online werent for me LOL, wonderful job!

I’m doing an ap portfolio this year and I haven’t been able to find any inspiration for my sustained investigation UNTIL NOW! I was so focused on having a super deep question that I’ve lost what I’m supposed to be drawing p-p I’ve also not been able to have fun with my art because I’m making things that don’t show off my own skills. Thank you so much tho! I feel a lot better about doing a portfolio on my own characters and designs 😭😭😭😭

Do you recommend turning in arts of different medias for the portfolio, or does it not matter as long as you have the basic requirements met? (Basic requirements AKA things other than ‘your art,’ such as realism) I’m currently planning on attending an art high school and BROOO THIS MOTIVATED ME SO MUCH!! THANK YOU AND REMEMBER TO STAY HEALTHY!!!😅 Edit: deleted one of my dumb questions lol
I think it really depends on what your portfolio’s theme is! Some AP portfolios are super different from piece to piece while others are very similar- I’d recommend for the 5 “exploration” pieces to DEFINITELY show your range, but for the 15 themed ones I think you can go either way! The main thing they’re marking is how well you accomplish what you say you’re gonna do (your inquiry question) so if you don’t want to do something like realism you don’t have to :) (hope this makes sense lol)
@@mimi.sues. Ooooo tysm for responding!!! So basically just make your portfolio really ‘you,’ no matter the exploration or themed. HS portfolios are a bit different from college / AP portfolios tho. THX AGAINNN!!!

Woww your portfolio is awesome, congrats on the 5! I think another commenter also said this but it’s really cool to see other people that aren’t just doing realism for their pieces (nothing wrong with realism ofc). I got a 4 on ap 2d last year, hoping for a 5 in ap drawing this year!
