Unboxing of a rare Lionel set from 1957! This is a rare first year HO set from Lionel. The trains are made by Rivarossi and track by Atlas but packaged and sold by Lionel.
I have no idea, why people like lionel. they are cheap, never close to being accurate in any way.

do u know what the difference berween 2466wx and 6466wx tender is? they were made around the same time and both came with the 675 engine in 1947

The way you explain adjustments for inflation, the reissue of this set later this year is a good price,they want 429.00 lion chief.

Great video, new subscriber. I believe I have the first edition of the 2025 that came as a set with green tin passenger cars. This set that I have is in pristine condition if I remember correctly with the Baldwin wheels. I will have to create a video of the set running. I really enjoyed your video, nice work.

Well done. I have the 1947 version in a set, inherited from my older brother when he joined the Air Force. My stack is unpainted because it is made from aluminum. I love the Baldwin drivers and side rod action. It came as a set with a 2466 WX tender, Sunoco single dome tank car, coal dump car, Butterfinger box car, Pennsy gondola and Pensyl metal, illuminated caboose. All cars have coil couplers. Set came with Lionel track, a section of remote track, transformer, and lock-on. This was my first Lionel train set. I subscribed to your channel.

Beautiful set. What is the minimum radius curve for this train? I assume the major limitation is how much room is there for the electric, open frame motor to move inside the locomotive shell.
Thanks for watching! The video has it running on Menards O 36. My O 27 line has an incline that is too steep for this train to run so I haven’t tested it. The vestibule has limited rotation so that may be an issue on O27 but not sure until I test.

Thanks! Yes clear signs that this was a Christmas train! We've decided to part with this set, need to keep the collection to O and Standard or its going to get overwhelming!

Very nice review on this lionel 259e. I also owned the same thing too but mine is getting repaired and mine doesnt have a whistle tender. Im thinking its a 2689t or 1689t tender but idk. Mines gray as well. Gotta love the old classic lionel tinplate model trains and yes i would agree with you on it they look amazing and feature character to it! Thanks for sharing this!
