Willys Jeep cruise/repair with the Southern Ontario Flatfender Association
We cruised with the southern Ontario flatfender association (sofa). We broke some stuff, had a beautiful drive, and had a great time! Don’t do anything we did,
or how we did it. This was a trail repair and the video is just documenting our day, not a how to.

Vintage Willy’s Jeep vs TJ on 37s

While a large group of people met in sunny Utah for trail hero, we ventured into the Canadian wilderness to go play in the rain. We ran my 1946 Jeep cj2a against Adam’s Jeep TJ on 37” tires with lockers.

1946 Jeep Cj2a VS Modern Off-roaders

We at Reuter Industries spent a few days in the woods comparing this old Jeep, to todays modern off-road trucks. No, the Jeep doesn’t have seatbelts. Yes, I’m aware of the dangers. Do as we say, not as we do. Always wear a seatbelt.

    This is off topic, but I noticed the nice rock slider and steps. Can you give me info on them? Who and or how they were built? Any and all info would be greatly appreciated.

      Hey thanks, I made them my self from 3/16 steel including the steps. I built them to vaguely copy Big Willy’s Jeep sliders. Check his website out!

    I am old and in the way now, but I vaguely remember when I lived in Durango, sitting in the driver seat of my 56 3B and removing the top cover of the transmission, I changed out the second gear without getting out of the seat! Though there was beer involved so the details are a little fuzzy.

    That was awesome watching everyone. I’m looking at two Willys. Both the same condition. 1946 CJ 2a and a 1952 CJ 3a. Priced similar what’s the better pick of the two of them? I know the 3a has a stronger frame and different axles. What’s the parts availability for both used or new reproduction? Thanks, Rene

    • @reuterindustries8240
      @reuterindustries8240 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can’t really go wrong with either! I’d say it comes down to which windshield design you like better. A lot of the parts are very interchangeable and there’s quite a few places that sell new old stock parts, and reproductions.

    Not uncommon for those little 3 speeds to pop out of second gear. It happens because there is too much lateral movement in the mainshaft. When I was a kid, I had a jeep that would do that, I found a big washer and fashioned it to fit, and take up the slack. Worked great. Ran it that way until I sold it!!!

    In all reality... The more you wheel it, the shorter its life span will be. I would hate to see it get destroyed. However, on the other hand... I would hate to see it just parked for all eternity. I think I would wheel it on the milder stuff every once in a while just to keep it all runnin well and everything. Get one of the newer disposable rigs to take the most of the wheelin abuse. Just MHO :) Great Vid!
