I think he means videogames in excess. Been there, and yep not fun. But with your house in order, videogames at their best are imo the highest form of art, and only if you've experienced some of them start to finish can you understand what I mean.

Sorry, Jimmy, but my career has been quite fullfilled at 32 years of my age and I still like to play videogames and its for totaly different reasons than you say here.

I completely agree with the religion thing I've said for years the religious bit is crap but the community spirit looks great. I disagree with the fame and fortune thing .. that looks like it removes you're freedom.

To me spending most of my day doing something I hate is the problem, whereas playing games and doing things I do enjoy is much more fulfilling. Games are not just fun but escapism for people who don't have genuinely good friends, people who have troubled family lives, people who feel trapped, people who don't find pleasure in the mundanity of normal life and people who have mental health struggles they struggle to cope with like myself.

Fame and fortune has already been heaven. And forget about reincarnation thats for fools who looks for excuses for being exploited in this life.

He's speaking in such hyperbole and trying to generalize it to the whole population. You can play video games, watch porn, watch movies/TV shows and it not being a form of escapism but just another hobby. You can do all of those things and not be addicted to them.

Would not agree to that. I have successfull job for 10 years and still ecaping reality by playing games because i like it.

Aldus Huxley, in his novel "Brave New World" WAS correct in that our obsession with pleasure will cause us to "amuse ourselves to death" and live meaningless hedonistic lives. Good book.

I studied mouse behavior for years. Mice who haven't been mated are incapable of showing empathy to children and others. Mice in pain....they....even though they are injected with saline...act the same way as Mice injected with capsaicin...when they see those Mice...they mimic andactually feel their pain. We call it social contagion! Of Mice and men...there is a lot of social contagion going on right now!

So many great nuggets in this. I will say that people tend to protect their children these days more is because of all of the bad people and influences. People are progressively more dangerous and crazy than back in the day. Maybe it's a vicious circle, idk. Just some thoughts.

My advice to anyone is to pick up the Bible and read Matthew, listen to the teachings of Jesus and understand that good things come for good deeds, you don't need to know why or how, you only need to know what to do. Jimmy nailed it perfectly. Too many Christians try to tell the gentiles to believe in Jesus, instead they should be showing them what he stood for. Our comfortable society is falling apart because we all go 'not my job' 'the council will sort that' etc and the reality is, no one's coming to save you. We can't all sit about and expect the world to run itself, or become better by itself.

It's easy to say, "you can change that". But when wages are a fifth of what they were 50 years ago and housing is five times more expensive than 50 years ago due to inflation, it is almost impossible to change. The average worker's wage for the week is often less than the poverty line. Notice I said worker, not someone unemployed. If you are working you should at least be able to buy basic essentials like housing, food, utilities, education, transport, medical and entertainment (recognized as a basic need by the UN human rights (no, I am not talking about a personal yacht. Just a TV, local library or sports equipment)). You are a funny man, but you clearly know nothing about economics or social structures

I think he suffers in the public eye because his comedy persona is such an arse, but underneath I’d say he is a really wounded, hurt person struggling to build himself.
